I'm so mad at my parents right now for not taking me to any of these stage shows, they look So Awesome! 🐢🎸
It must have been a great experience 🤓
I was young enough to really want to go to this, but too old to actually enjoy it once I got there. The Coming Out Of Their Shells Tour was the beginning of the end of my childhood.
😅 yikes we hit a sensitive nerve
I went to the live show as a kid
It was awesome
Epic 🤩🤘
I went to the Coming Out of their Shells Tour as a kid and had a blast. I got the souvenir nunchucks seen at 11:40
Oooh now that’s what I call a souvenir! 🤩
Had this on VHS as a kid and watched it all the time
That’s awesome 😁
I don’t really remember the Coming out of their Shells tour, my family didn’t have Satellite TV at the time but I saw all of the movies and went to see the TMNT lll in theaters the only thing bad about it was the animatronics going berserk when they talked other than that good memories, thanks Ed
Thanks for watching Alex 🤘
I showed this to my teenage daughter who was in awe that this actually existed lol. I did want to see the He-Man stage show but it never came to my area. Years later I saw that the Thundercats had one two. It’s a shame good footage doesn’t exist of some of these. The Coming out of their Shell tour was late enough that it has good footage but the Thundercats and He-Man ones are lost to time it seems.
I wonder if there’s vhs tapes of the other shows indeed. The power tour one , some of the makers did a commentary for powercon which is on youtube 🤓
I still have a cassette tape from them that I got at Pizza Hut back in the early 90's along with some toys
Aw yeah 🤘🐢
Man, never thought I'd see TMNT and Minor Threat in the same category lol
😏 it’s a fugazi
@@EdsRetroGeekOut Fugpizza bruh lol
I had a tape of the PPV. It was definitely towards the bottom of my viewing rotations as far which VHS to pop in on a particular Saturday afternoon. Much like Ninja Turtles III, even as a kid I knew this was close to what I wanted, but off the mark.
Off the mark is the perfect description 🤣🤓
🎶Ninja Turtles,
You can count on us!🎶
🤘 cowabunga
I've got the cassette, the coming out of their shells tour vhs and the making of the coming out of their shells vhs as well as that BIG tour guide thing.
When it comes to going to see any live shows when i was a kid i never got to go to any of those due to ky family being poor, but one i remember desperately wanting to go see was toy story on ice lol
There’s a particular age when the disney on ice stuff seems like the coolest thing ever, they just had one in the area so I was hoping to take my daughter but covid got in the way 😩
@@EdsRetroGeekOut That REALLY suck dude, hopefully you guys will get to go at some point
*Welcome to another episode of TOY HISTORY!!* *Get your soda & popcorn and sit back and relax.*
Thanks buddy 🤘
Sorry but can you imagine all the after parties after the performances? All the pizzas and partying. I bet April O’Neill got pretty wild with those turtle boys ;D
The mutabus had splinter riding shotgun next to april tough 🤭
I had the cassette and the VHS as a kid and I remember watching the tape on Xmas during the height of my TMNT obsession and thinking, god this is lame. 🤣
I totally get that 😜 the songs take too long we need more action!
I saw the Mortal Kombat live tour sad I missed this.
Wait they had a mortal Kombat tour 🤩🤩🤩🤩
What's good about me never getting into Turtles?
a) saving money.
b) somebody else can have fun with the toys I don't buy.
They can be pricey nowadays 🤓
still have the cassette and the VHS, still fond of it.
Awesome 🤘
This takes me back
Thanks for watching 🤓
Seeing this gives me some hope of MOTU Power Tour release. I was too young when that occurred for the MOTU universe and don't know why I don't recall the TMNT musical--might have been consumed still with the toy collecting, the first movie through New Line and the soundtrack (9.95 or MC Hammer's This Is What We Do) well into grade school and half way through junior high. G.I. Joe and Cobra was everything for me, next to the Turtle toy line. Awesome retrospective and look forward to more of those videos. Thanks for the nostalgia.
Thanks so much, i wondered if I should have talked about more on the music from the movies as well but maybe better for another vid 🤓
@@EdsRetroGeekOut there’s plenty to cover. Even the abysmal third entry for the Turtles had a soundtrack. Could segue Fifth Platoon’s Back to School from the second movie as an intro. And end the video either with Partners in Kryme’s Turtle Power or Ya Kid K’s Awesome. Or a betting man (for those deal making moments when collecting) puts on “Spin that Wheel”. Do recommend the film score for the first film by John Du Prez. And can never go wrong with video game soundtracks, the first one, the arcade and Turtles in Time. Music I’d say it is synonymous with nostalgia of toy collecting, cartoons, games, and comics.
You had me at interspecies relationship.
😏🐢 plenty of room for 2 shellwise
It was so funny, the show should be in Netherlands in Ahoy Rotterdam. I was excited for months and didnt really know what the show was about. The great day finally came and my dad and i went to Rotterdam finding nothing. The show was canceld because of to little sold tickets but we didnt know about that. I was truly devistated. Even my mom cried for me because she knew it was such a big deal for me. Greetz from Walter (we spoke on insta this week)
No way 😵💫 i would have made my parents take me if I had only known
I went to this on my bday back in 91 too funny
Epic! 🤩🤘
Yeah I went to a house show. And I had every piece of merchandise that was presented in this video.. even the ticket stub.. however sadly I have nothing anymore. But I do still have the cassette tape. 😁
Hold onto it! 🤘
@@EdsRetroGeekOut oh absolutely! It's the only thing I have left from those memories
I went to both concerts! The Glens Falls Civic Center & the Albany Palace Theater!
Duuude that’s awesome 🤘
@@EdsRetroGeekOut thanks😇
Loved the minor threat joke lol!!!
😜🤘 thanks buddy
Again, Excellent toy history. Great work, edit and research. And learned something fun and new about the Rock 'n Roll TMNT,
Cowabunga ; )
Thanks buddy! U coming to comicon bxl in march?!
@@EdsRetroGeekOut that's the idea for the Saturday if all goes well 🤞
I had the cassette tape of coming out of their shells! What fond memories.
Aw yeah 🤩🤓
Turtle Hysteria!
Indeed 🤣
I like Turtle
🤘
Go ninja go!
🥶 Ice Ice baby!
Turtle fact. Their shells are actually part of their spine so they can not “come out” of them without dying :). I assume mutated Turtles are different
Indeed 😵💫
Very cool thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching 🤓
Interessting TMNT Story. Great Video about it
Thanks 🤓🤘
Great Video Ed.
Thank you 🤓
Funny enough I had the making of vhs as a kid, but not the show itself.
😄 it must have been pretty fun to check out tough as a kid
Great episode!
Thanks buddy 🤓
Minor Threat! You rock bro!
🤘aw yeah
Another amazing episode!
Thanks buddy
I've never heard of any of the musical shows mentioned here!
Well it was the early nineties anything goes 😂
Super Cool
Thanks buddy 🤓
seems a bit ironic that in the movie the pizza the turtles got was from domino's but outside the movie it was pizza hut promoting the turtles
It was due to the production houses that did both those things had seperate licenses so weren’t connected to sponsor deals 🤓
That's a badasssssss set!
Aw yeaaah 🤩
Ed Retro thx for showing us some good TMNT stuff. When I tune into this platform,I learn something new of the past or future about Ninja turtles.
Thanks my friend 🤘
I actually remember this 😂 my godmother’s kids had the 📼
Epic 🤘
you didn't put the best part of the Oprah interview about April not being able to breathe under water hehe
🤣🤣🤣
I did'nt know that this even existed until last year. Becuse I was'nt born in the 80's noir the 90's and I find this version of the turtles vary terrifying. At lest this was'nt turtles 3.
🤣🤣🤣
@@EdsRetroGeekOut me too. Well they Arent as tariffing then my little pony :pony life toys
@2:51 - How did Pizza Hut get away with using a Burger King Toy for their advert? I know a Rad Badge when I see one! 😅
I watched this at my little cousin's house, pay-per-view I think. I was still into the turtles but more into the Eastman & Laird comic at this point. Found this very cringey but still enjoyed hanging out with family and we had Pizza Hut of course.
Pizza hut 🤩🤘
Why do you have a print out poster if your actual background?
He's renovating.
Yeah renovating the actual game room but to keep continuety in the vids somewhat and not having a room to film in, this still sets the tone a bit for me 🤓
I loved this as a kid. As an adult, it's not good. If I was a few years earlier, I would have hated it like the third movie, but I was young enough to fucking love it.
Awesome 😁🤘
I like Turtles 🐢🐢🐢🐢 🐀
Cowabunga! 🐢
..
Thanks for .. 🤣
@@EdsRetroGeekOut my bad Ed. I think I hit. Key. Pad accidentally & iPad froze. & UA-cam Doesn’t let you see comments. So I’d never just put (..). But I wanted to ask you about the pizza monster by emo, Or emui??? Can’t recall. But he’d do 1 for: $170. I have never bought a costum. Is this price ok. Thanks homie
