  • Make your stock JK bumper, into a stubby bumper that improves your approach angle and helps you show off those tires you worked so hard to buy and install on your Jeep. This method requires no additional parts, just some tools, some elbow grease, and perhaps a few zip ties.

Grinding with a cutoff wheel, always an excellent idea.

Man i did this sunday, man it was so easy to remove the crush cans, i just used my grinder on one of the welds to get a guide line and ran a sawsaw through it and it came right off. was only welded on the 4 sides.

nice video. very helpful in doing mine. just need more on the fog lights. how did you get them to stay to the metal bumper because they fasten to the plastic and the plastic part that holds to the metal gets cut?

+Josh Garner It's really difficult to explain, we've done it 3x, and do it a little differently each time. Just take your time, and cut, test fit, cut, test fit, cut, test fit until it fits.

Josh Garner Just did my '10 and used a rotary saw to make the cuts. Keep it close to the screw holes where they mount and like he said- cut and test. Took about an hour and had them in.

I'm very inclined to do this to my Jeep. One question: What did you guys do to the hole that was left after you took off the "soup can" bump stops? They just disappeared when you primed and painted the metal frame. You never went over how you covered them up. Other than that; good video. Thanks

There's no hole, it's a flat surface once you remove the "soup cans."

That's damn ugly for all that work. I'll spend the cash and get one that looks good.
