V8freaks, looking at the speedometer and tachometer and doing kph to mph calculations in my head, I’d figure that this vehicle had a 3.23 to 3.54: 1 differential gear. Calculating gear ratios isn’t difficult once you know tire diameter, rpm and gear constant.

V8 engine (in cars) i find it sounds better under gentle (i.e. cruising low rpm) driving as when revved hard it becomes very rough, harsh & intrusive even somewhat excessively noisy...while for hard revving i prefer an in-line 6 or V12 which tends to sound smoother, less harsh & intrusive although these may sound noisier during lower rpm's compared to a V8. But i notice for big V8's like on coach & trucks these sound better & more comfortable to bear with throughout the entire rpm range.

Und dank fehlender Überbrückung fährt das Auto in jedem Gang und bei jeder Geschwindigkeit immer im Ölbadwandler. Das treibt zwar den Verbauch sehr in die Höhe, aber die Gasannahme ist buchstäblich gar nicht zu spüren!

after '86 it's 2,24 differential gear ratio. 560SEL is always 2,65 in diff gear ratio...
They are really like a "Tank" as said. Lucky I have driven 500SEC and 560SEC in the 90's, 560 is an amazing V8 with crazy torque.
