    3.8 seconds 0-60 does sound very impressive for s 360 hp 911 (fractions off of a 500+ hp 992 GT3).
    And you can absolutely hear that high pitched flat 6 sound when it gets into the high revs; the variocam kicking in...
    A sound I look forward to every time I drive my 02 3.2 liter 986 Boxster S (Midnight Metallic Blue. BBS Sport Classics etc). 😊

    Loving my 992 Carrera T. Given the standard brakes and engine, it is very much a road car as opposed to a track car, which is fine with me. The manual transmission is a must-have. And many who've ridden in it would never know there is insulation missing. It's not harsh, and 90% of the noise is from the engine, which is what you want. I have a comparatively basic spec (Gentian Blue, no RAS, no front-axle lift, 4-way sport plus seats, not 18-ways) but I did add Bose (2024 model only), power mirrors, shark blue seat belts, and the heated steering wheel. Also you can do body color dash and console trim for free instead of the piano black, which I did for mine. But the T has all the good stuff standard.

      Right you are. Good company when touring is awfully nice to have, but touring alone in a 911 doesn't get lonely.
      Done both many times.

    Nice review of the Carrera T. I own a Cayman T and much of what you say about the Carrera T also applies to the Cayman T. The T is a great package and, IMHO, perfect for the street.

    +1 A well-produced PCA Carrera T model discovery. .. The 911 series 992 open,,, a 379PS 3.0l turbo has plenty of GO. .. She-it, it's an attainable road car with an available manual gearbox. .. If that's your jam.

    • @nvanpraag
      @nvanpraag 9 місяців тому +1

      I ordered mine (and took delivery in July) without. My rationale after speaking with many Porsche professionals was that it would be a bit more of a "pure" driving experience without it. And it saves some weight. Both consistent with the intended focus of the Carrera T and also the reasons they did not include it on the S/T - the most expensive 911 variant sold.

    The frame rate of this video is low and stuttering, I wish it was smooth. How are the 4 way sports seats in terms of the seat bottom thigh support? I find a lot of cars have short seat lowers so they dont support my thighs. If i dont have to opt for the 14 way sport seats that would be ideal.

    • @viewsonvehicles
      @viewsonvehicles 11 місяців тому

      For the seats, that is highly body type dependent. I am 5 feet 11 inches tall (181 cm) and found it had good thigh support. If you're taller or have longer legs, it may not be the same for you.

    • @pilfjd
      @pilfjd 11 місяців тому +2

      @@viewsonvehiclesThanks. I've always found Porsche had excellent seats, but our cars have always had the powered highly adjustable seats. Which is fine, but I'd like my next 911 to be a back to basics car, such as the Carrera T.

    Also, I don't agree with the manual being the only form of absolute engagement. The PDK is a faster pace, and requires more concentration on the road itself due to higher speeds. Same on track. It depends what engagement type you are going for. Mine is speed. Not shifting.

    So which is more fun to drive: this vs. a 993 C2 with upgraded engine, gearing and shifter? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to keep what I have or change to a newer model? Comments appreciated.

      I own both of those cars. Absolutley loving my Carrera T in python green. They are completely different cars and the T is the first new 911 that I have ever been interested in. The T is more comfortable and has all the modern touches while giving you all the modern amenities. I would never sell my 993 for the T because so if you have to sell the 993 to get the T don't do it. The T is the one to have and didn't want a GT3. Many people have sold their GTS and GT3 to get the T because they realize that both of those cars are too fast for the street. Both the 993 and the T can be wound out on the street and is more invovling.

    • @aboutthecurves
      @aboutthecurves 6 місяців тому

      I have also been fortunate enough to just acquire a 2024 T, manual, no rear steering. I still own a 993 C4S and a 964 C4. Used to have a few other 911 2wd cars but they went to make way for the T which is the first new 911 I have bought in well over a decade. This is the perfect modern iteration of the original 911 ethos to me, though vastly different. One cannot compare the 992 to the 993. They are just too different. Like you iI had a 993 Carrera that had RS final drive, short shift, lwfw, solid engine mounts, suspension, bucket seats etc. The 993 is much more of a special occasion car, the 992 can be used daily and yet still be hustled. But for a pure blast, the 993 hot rod would win hands down. If I had to keep one, as I get older, I would say it may be the 992 as a daily. But they are just too different to compare.

    Of course the grip and downforce is a lot better in GT3.....
    But the question is can u use it on the track?
    You will be faster than yourself in a GT3 than in a CarerraT.....
    But on the other hand a much better driver will overtake the GT3 with ease on a really tough circuit like the Nürburgring in Germany or Road America in Wisconsin....
    Because those tracks are not forgiving bad judgement or lack of skills when the speed is rising and the traffic is dense....
    But yes Carerra T seems to be a fantastic road car that you can be able to rev. out in a couple of gears before next curve compared to a Turbo S that will reach next curve so fast that you do not have time to enjoy it on public roads and the traffic patrol will not take kindly to those crazy speeds the Turbo S reach before you know it.... ✋🏻 👮🏻‍♂️🚓

    Considering the T’s motor is exactly the same as the base motor, your statement that this is an awakened base 911 refers to sound only? If this was in fact an awakened 911 and ‘a driver’s spec,’ it would be a naturally aspirated, higher revving motor like its GT cars, but Porsche knows it can trick the public into thinking a few cheap gimmicks makes it a ‘drivers spec’.

    • @ericcarine7821
      @ericcarine7821 10 місяців тому +1

      The base 911 is really 420hp according to guys that have dynoed their cars. Its not that much slower than the S and for me its better because the smaller turbos act more like a NA motor. The GTS really kicks in on boost and behaves more like a turbo motor. That is the appeal to me for this car.
