I have watched everything you have made for a few years, The tiny little nuggets of information you gave out on this video is pure gold...Thanks ,,,My mate Danny...............Tony.
I've really enjoyed the "Mentoring Marissa" series. many creative types make good tutorial videos where they present well prepared material to the virtual audience, but when someone is teaching a novice in a particular technique or piece of gear, questions get asked or situations spontaneously, and that adds a lot to the presentation and learning experience.
Always good stuff and even better this time cause I'm busting at the seams with inspiration. A new door has been open. I've always had trouble conveying the expression I was looking for. A new technique to try. Yay!
Great fun to watch you. Years ago I commented about a Daniel-Marisa video that they have something special in their interaction. Like a dance. That's still what it is. At another level in the photography space. But still. Great fun.
A good end to these sessions would be getting to see a quick walkthrough scenario of how Daniel would run through an ideal session with his client. From welcoming them to the studio, to talking about outfit options, to sitting the client and going through the shooting process. I think we’d get to see a pro’s natural process of interacting w/ clients for a basic headshot.
Great video. Love the energy---as always :-) I love how Marissa uses the "pretend you ..." direction of the model. You put in the wrong link for your model though.
Thanks Daniel for these "mentoring Marisa' series. Love the way Marisa interacting with model and your insight in portrait photography. One (not so related) question, does photography studio always painted white for ease of light bouncing? Or sometimes do you find white painted studio bring unwanted bounce light quite disturbing?
One of the biggest advantages of Capture One over LR is the Brightness slider and you are still using the exposure slider (cause you are used to it in LR) Check out Exposure vs Brightness / One Reason Why Capture One is better it will be explained with samples
FYI - Sticking your head forward, squinting your eyes, etc., as Marisa tried to explain midway thru, has long been taught & advocated by Peter Hurley, probably the most renowned "head-shot" photographer, who also works out of NYC.
Marisa is a great student. Daniel even better teacher (master). Lee is so natural and great subject. A side note: Lucas (instead of Lee) mentioned in notes and he was not around :)
I think this model Lee's face looks so great, that would also look beautiful with the hair tied back really tightly. P.S. What "Background Light"? Where is it?
Marisa for President. Not just acting for a role in a major tv show but the real deal. If America doesn't want her Australia will make her out next Prime Minster.

Peter Hurley style. Great content. I watch tons of your videos Daniel. I appreciate you. Marissa is a great match for you to work with!
One of the Best of this series, Thanks all of You and Happy Weekend 😎👍🇨🇦
This is great, I never know how to pose (Like, I imagine, most), so the hints here are gold!

I’m so impressed by the recycle time of those AD300’s 😱
Some of my favourite photography tutorials. Thanks for these.

I'm a huge proponent of getting it correct in the camera to avoid software.
Great video.
Thank You!
i like it that m. shows up in colour. Why do all the NY photographers wear black?
It’s the official uniform
😊👍🙏
You should do a video that has Marissa only and then get a Dan only section.
Does this model have an instagram?
Ok so thanks Daniel, I just spent 20 minutes staring in the bathroom mirror trying to tell which eye is bigger… Why did I never know this!?! 🤣🤷🏻♂️
The left one 😉
Please do entertain me with B roll.
