Hi, thanks for the video. Just one hint: Your intro sound is super loud and your voice the opposite. I'm definitely awake now 🙂. Maybe you can tweak here a little.
This is all great and stuff, but in today’s time, it should communicate over Thread not BLE. Because BLE basically ties you to get a hub if you want access to it just a few meters off. And it can’t easily be shared or integrated into an existing system (Home Assistant).
Thanks for watching! I haven’t personally used Home assistant a massive deal, but I do know SwitchBot products do work with HA. I don’t think the Meter pro supports it yet. But I agree that it would be nice to see SwitchBot dive into products not needing a hub, but wonder if this keeps cost down, making their products more accessible.
@@TechUpChannel Na, the only reason manufacturers make hubs is to charge more money to use their products. Even though the same stuff is achievable with just Thread / Matter. I mean, they literally use Matter for the hub… They only work with HA because HA has the capability to talk over many different protocols and interfaces, BLE included.

My apologies! Thanks for the tip, and I’ve sure toned it down for the next one. Thanks for watching ☺️

Is CO2 exposed via Matter in HomeKit App ?
