Jake The Snake is a huge part of my childhood. I'm 46, and was 10 years old in 1986. My sister, brother, and I were wrestling fanatics. My Grandfather took us to Wrestlemania 4. I still have my Hulk Hogan autographed photo.
It's amazing how wrestling has evolved from Jake using the DDT as a finishing move (a move I loved to see him use), to it being used mid-match now merely as a temporary disabler
Progression of the art. Look at basketball. Vince Carter won a dunk contest with the under the legs 360 and now high schoolers can do that. I remember the Shooting Star Press was the most protected move ever and only a few people were trusted with it now it’s people who do it 3 times as a mid match move.
It was better back then. Nowadays they completly abandoned realism. Back in the day the finishing move was the finishing move and the opponent was dead. Nowadays they exchange finishing moves for 15 minutes which just devalues the moves
I'm so glad to see that Jake is doing well and he has beat his addiction. So many of the wrestlers I grew up watching sadly has passed away due to drugs.
Jake The Snake, The Road Warriors, The Spoiler, King Kong Bundy and Buzz Sawyer were all in the Legion of Doom in 1983-1984. Paul Ellering and the Road Warriors left for the AWA in August 1984 and kept the L.O.D. name for the rest of their careers. Fun facts: The Bundys in Married With Children were named after King Kong Bundy. The Spoiler's finisher was the claw, but his other famous move was walking the rope, a move he later taught to The Undertaker.
Really? Why not? He tell it most interviews. Also he being in the legion of doom. The LOD was jake, road warriors and the spoiler. Wicked gcw stable. Lol. The DDT story a standard. He wore the best t shirt back in the 80s about the DDT. Cruel but fair DDT 😲👍🏾
Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. Ravishing Rick Rude on Saturday Night's Main Event was one of the greatest matches I have ever seen. The POP from the crowd after Jake hits the DDT was AWESOME!!! The camera literally shakes. There were so many other incredible moments he had in the ring. He ranks in the top 20 of the greatest wrestlers that ever lived. Jake should've been the WWF champion. His DDT came out of nowhere. He was like Stone Cold before Stone Cold. Jake would've been a great champ (Intercontinental or World). He was that freaking good.
When I was 14 I DDT’d my friend and somehow kneed him in the balls on the way down. He ran in agony to the bathroom. That was the last time I DDT’d someone.

I wish someone would interview jake and just focus on the good stuff and the influence he's had on wrestling today. Yes he's had a hard road, but everyone knows that. The story had been told over and over. He's had so many historical matches, changed the game on mic skills, and read a crowd like no other. There's so much there to talk about without getting in the grimey stuff. He's worked hard to change his life.
I saw Jake the Snake, the Undertaker, Hogan, Hacksaw Jim Duggin and his 2x4 lol and the whole crew at Arco Arena in Sac. when I was a kid. It was awesome!!! 🤣 makes me feel old now
His skills on the mic and knowing how to talk and act...i still go back and watch his aew debut where he says to Cody " A wise man taught me 2 things, never turn your back on a man that you reapect or a man that you are afraid of" and he says this as he turns his back and walks away from cody and tosses the mic over his head for cody to catch 😂😂😂 fucken pricless
All that may be true but midsouth had the right size crowd and there was a charm to midsouth, from the commentators to the lighting to the arena to the interviews that were by the ring. Wwe had none of it and was a miserable joke unless you enjoy leprechauns and clowns putting on a play. Now don't get it twisted, I'm a big time mark for Jake roberts
The downfall of Jake's career gave Stone Cold a super super push.... "talk about your psalms talk about John 3:16.. Austin 3:16 says I just whooped your ass"...
Vlad be getting the interviews we never knew we wanted!
Jake always delivers
Be getting 🤷♀️. Hey 👋 just skipped the letter “B”
This is by far better than Vlad interviewing these Punk Azz Rappers
Because Joe Rogan already did the interview 🙄
@@myname1989 nobody cares hater lol how many other people interviewed people after Vlad. Shut up

The Trump Plaza!
Wow that's a special memory
I buy that photo from you for 2 bands
That's awesome
I actually received an autograph of Hulk Hogan when I gave him some watercolor artwork I've painted.
One of the greatest talkers to ever pick up a microphone, methodical, calculated, he never yelled or talked loud. But he always got his point across
I totally agree. He's up there with Piper in terms of talking

This man had a "Lifetime Movie" childhood. That damn story just kept goin.
Love his documentary on A&E it was very touching and emotional
Jake Roberts in Georgia Championship Wrestling & Mid-South was awesome. Him & Butch Reed!
Can't wait till he talks about Warrior, Savage and the cobra, WWF again. The psychology in the ring was one of a kind.
I've seen a lot of his interviews but I never heard him talk about inventing the DDT Good stuff Vlad

Jake .....good to see ya alive, god bless
Good to see Jake again. I used to see him at Brantford Ontario Canada WWF tapings way back in 1980s, with all the legends. Those were good days 💯
You got to ask him about DDP and how hanging with Diamond Dallas helped him stay sober and save his life.
That's facto!💯👌🏿⚫️
Can't believe Jake The Snake Roberts was part of Legion of Doom. R.I.P. Hawk & Animal!
"I didn't want nothing to do with no damn snake" 😂😂
Because his nickname came from Kenny Stabler...
Wow!! Did not expect this interview. Jake the Snake Master of the DDT.
When I was in Jr High School I used to put all my friends in the DDT….ahhhh such valuable childhood memories that I’ve forgotten about😂
When I was 14 I DDT’d my friend and somehow kneed him in the balls on the way down. He ran in agony to the bathroom. That was the last time I DDT’d someone.
Bro as much as I hate snakes, I'll never forget Audre the giant crushing that snake in the bag and Jake crying like a baby. I felt so bad for him 😂😂😂😂

Jake is one of the greats. glad to see he's doing okay.
Wow I did not know he pioneered the DDT! But it makes sense now because I always felt like he had the cleanest form of the DDT lol. 😁
Jake the snake the legend. I remember looking at him when I was 4 with my grand aunt and uncle (rip). Love it
My dumbass immediately said “this guy invented insecticide?”
Living Legend
The second marriage he mentions here was involved in a wrestling angle with Rick Rude. Those two in the ring had great chemistry
what an amazing story and life and ups and downs. legend
He was a GREAT ONE
Jake the Snake is in my top 5 all time greats without a doubt 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯
He did invent the ddt and he made it look devastating as a finisher move
Man did he “figure it out.”
Please watch his documentary if you can find it, it’s so good.

One of the best heels in wrestling jakes a hero and a legend
Greatest to never hold an intercontinental title. Without Jake Roberts, there would be no attitude era.
When I was a kid knew jake was a sick type of wrestler but never knew anything about his childhood trauma 😢
Greatest to never win a championship in WWF

“DDT DDT DDT DDT DDT”
I loved Jake as a kid. He was bad ass! I used to tell my little brother “hey come here, I’ve gotta tell you something “ then hit him with a D.D.T!!! 😂

Back when the DDT was a finisher.
I loved the legon of doom and the Bush whackers 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
RIP Butch Miller...
Moves like the DDT and superkick used to signal the end of the match, now it's just standard.
