That’s cool. I remember years ago stores would have miniature, scale tents on display so you could see what the full-size looked like. Would be perfect for scale trucks.

AWESOME, my son has a real 2001 Land Rover D2 and Im going to buy this tent kit which he has on his truck. The RC kit I orderd on line in a 1/10 scale crawler with a lot of extras too. Great look on your gig.

Nice tent mate. FYI The Pilbara is a regional area of north western Australia. It's where I live and loads of people have these types of tents here.
I made a clamshell tent from scratch for my rc. I used styrene to construct the frame. if yours is too heavy you could make new replacement parts out of styrene to replace the metal parts.

Bought one when they 1st came out. It looks really cool & has great scale detail! Never used it however, since it weighs 1.5 lbs. That much weight on top of most any rig spells disaster. As one comment mentioned, I'm looking into some sort of a styrene frame.
Love your channel. Great looking rigs. Try steaming the canvas lightly then stuffing the tent full of paper or somethinf to strech the cloth. Keep up the great videos

2 sided tape works good to hold things it's what I use the arb cooler is actually a powered fridge in full size I have been debating on ordering one for my fullsize
you could make some anti sway bars and that will help with body roll, but it will also take away some flex.. and replace the aluminum panels in the tent with plastic.. I use to keep up watching the camel trophy series where they take land rovers across country making bridges and winching each others rigs out of big mud holes..its hard to tell its a competition the way everyone helps each other, but its really cool.australia has an offroad magazine,and they put out youtube videos regularly and they are really cool.ive been watching videos of people going around new foundland on side by sides,atvs and enduro motor cycles so I got one of each in hopes of going someday

Seems like you can slide the rods thru at the edge of the canvas as in like the real dome types of tents to help support the openings.Just a thought.

Looks great, maybe removing the second half off the ladder so the tent can unfold much beter? Don't know if that is possible.
I was thinking trimming the bottom of the ladder to fit the truck height for sure. I'm withya, its impeding.
Boom racing makes desert lizard 90mm internal spring oil filled shocks that are adjustable by the springs for droop, I like mine. Have them on my ver. 1 deadbolt.

could always order stiffer springs for the axial shocks they're cheap enough to order couple sets and play around with the setup.
How did you become a influencer? Lol! Do you receive items to test? Not saying that you get things free or hating or anything like that I was just wondering if it was like a beta tester or whatever have you. That would be nice. Man those little 110 welders off Amazon, cost like 90 bucks, they can be run off 115 or 220 and the amp of course go up when hooked to to 220. Anyways, it's bout the size of a women's size 6 shoe box. On 115 I was burning 1/8th rods with it turned all the way up on a car hauler welding fenders and gussets on for about 3 hours with no break's longer than fitting up the next piece and it never overheated. I don't know the name of it, it had a digital display, I know there's several of them but this one was a good one I can personally guarantee. Man with a 3/32 rod and small as it is it'd be perfect for your rc frames. I mean I was running it off a extension cord that was over 60 foot and it didn't throw a breaker or even heat up the cord which wasn't even heavy duty. It's said you supposed to hook directly to the wall outlet but what I was getting at is the inverter style welding electronics don't pull the juice that older ones did. Anyways, I heard you mention welding on a episode and thought it'd be worth your time to try yourself one. Those 3/32 rods would leave a small bead but burn in deep especially if you V your points of contract. Sorry I welded pipe for several years. Love the shoes and enjoy the entirety of the content. I would go with a trailer my brother has a 4 runner and on his its a removerble fiber glass canopy over the back so you cant put any thing on top so he built a trailer for the fold out tent

Man I had one of these and my house got broken into. It got stolen along with a bunch of my other RC stuff. Still have a couple of trucks and got a few accessories donated but unfortunately I haven't been able to afford to replace this 😢

Looks good on the 4runner. Wat about trimmin just a touch off the bottom of the ladder? May let it flatten out the tent a bit.
I hear the trx4 shocks are some of the best. Lookin to get some for my winter build
Im not cutting the ladder until I get the suspension squared away. Dont want it too short.
Maybe you could warm it with a hair dryer or set it out in the sun to relax it.

They are boom racing 1.55 wheels. I think the tires in it back in this video were Rc4wd rock stompers

It would fit. Not sure how the lexan body would hold up the weight of it though. Might need some reinforcement
What size wheels and tires are on this Tf2?
When this video was made it had 1.55 boom racing wheels on Rc4wd Mickey Thompson Baja claw mtzs. I don’t remember off hand the diameter but they are one of the biggest 1.55 tires I’ve seen.
