I'm really looking forward for the Yoga Slim 7 pro 16". I think this will be my next laptop. I was looking for the 14" version for a long time but it was never available... Therefore, waiting for the 16" version and keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞
This was a tough one, I would go with the cheaper one i5 pro with all the ports, I can live without thunderbolt. You can save money by getting the 7 slim pro with the i5 core processor. The i7 processor is an arm and a leg.
Great comparison, Thanks. I suggest you to use better light to shoot videos of devices. Some scene are very dark and I can't see details like when you show the right side of the notebooks.
Thank you for the input! I have a bunch of lights in the office but right now for me it's very much about time management. I work full time + and then try to make videos on top of that... So any addition takes extra time and make the threshold higher to publish a video. But I def hear you!
I've had the slim 7i pro for a few weeks now and it has a very severe issue: the sleep mode does not work, and lenovo isn't helpful in addressing this problem. The last BIOS update was in July and it did not fix this problem. Beware, if you want immediate start and sleep by flipping the lid open/closed, look elsewhere unless you don't mind using hibernate mode (which is much slower).

Thank you on a great review on the Yoga slim 7 and Ideapad Slim 5i. I was looking at both and trying to choose which one. I ended up purchasing Yoga Slim 7i. I found the i7 processes on the Yoga Slim 7i is more updated (released q1 2021) vs the Ideapad (2020). Yoga has a faster speed clock than the Ideapad.

I had the Yoga slim 7 pro 14" for a few days but I returned it and got instead the Ideapad 5 Pro 14" which has beter CPU, screen with 90hz and much better selection of ports (HDMI and TWO USB A and C). But I have to say that the battery life is quite mediocre on both of them, with normal usage (70% brightness, office, internet and some youtube videos) I get around 4 to 5 hours max. But I have a question to you and everybody else, do you know why my AMD radeon software says my DDR4 RAM allocated for GPU is running only at 1333 MHz? The RAM should be running at 3200 MHz and not 1333 MHz. I tried to look into BIOS but did not find anywhere any DOCP or XMP settings. Thanks all for your sugestions.

Thanks for your review! How is the keyboard when you compare it to the Matebook 14 you had before? I really love Huawei's keyboard and I'm not sure if the Lenovo can compete with it. Also: did you hear the fan noise while web browsing and watching youtube videos in any of those Laptops? (Huawei vs Lenovo)

What I understand from Lenovo the ideapad 5 pro 16" only have 1 USB c 3.2 full function, the other one is just power. But maybe 14" have 2 x full function.

Yes you are right about that. The battery in the Yoga Slim 7 Pro is pretty poor. The Ideapad 5 pro has better battery life. See my reviews of them if you want more :)

Just bought my Lenovo ideapad 5 pro Ryzen 7. I Just needed to say that my screen bezel is tight and nice and makes no noise. So you must just have been unlucky with your machine. If it makes you irritated I would change it in and get a new machine.

If they have the same CPU they have the same performance. If you're gonna edit you're probably importing footage and then the Ideapad is nicer with it's port selection :)

Try to bending the laptop by the palm rests downwards slightly. Seems to be a common issue but my rattle went away and comes back sometimes but it works for me.

Why don't you tell viewers that the power button on the entire Yoga Slim 7 pro series on the side of the case is useless? You cannot turn on the laptop if the screen is closed. This is a huge disappointment and a deception that Lenovo has not corrected for a year now.
I've never had any kind of problem with it. As soon as you plug something into a port it wakes from sleep. Don't even know what i would need the button for.

Strange! I've had that issue before but never on the slim 7 pro. Sleep mode has worked perfectly from day 1.

I don't know about the ram speed in this case but they often show half in apps. When it's not taking dual channel into account.

We have 2 ideapad5 pro amd from this month. Both trackpad are rattleling. Annoying for the price.
Interesting! Mine isn't rattling at all, but my Yoga Slim 7 Pro does. But I love it regardless. I learned to live with the rattle :P

U like it until the hinge brokes. And there is no warranty. Very common, and they, don't care about it.

Totally not. If that's the intel option you just get the amd instead. I would never get 10th gen intel.
