    I have the AMD 6900 version with 32gb RAM and it flies. Costco has it for $1099 so difficult to justify the price difference for me and I’m a Mac user typically. Returned my MBP and keeping the Lenovo. Also love how Lenovo rounded all of the edges. Very comfortable to hold.

      Yeah, Macbooks only offer great value at the lowest entry price and on a sale. Like i got my MBA M1 for 1000$ ish (in my country its normally 1300$). And for what i use it it's great value for 1000$ (like i dont need a good GPU or CPU, just good screen, audio and trackpad). But if you want more RAM and storage etc, Lenovo or HP are so much better!

    I've got the AMD version of the Slim 7 Pro X and really like it as a piece of hardware. I was hoping it would be free of glitches with Windows, but sadly not. I've been using Windows for 10 years now after 20 on the Mac, and I've decided it's time to go back to Mac. I find the new MacBook Pros boring from a design standpoint (though undoubtedly highly competent), but I'm tired of dealing with all the little issues that come up in Windows. I really like Windows 11 and how it looks (and many things about how it works are better than MacOS), but there are too many driver and other issues - none of which by themselves are a major problem, but they keep happening, on every Windows device I've owned (5 at this point).

      I share your experience. I started moving from mac to PC in 2018 mainly because I wanted to game, and it felt relevant to do that on the same laptop I use for other things. Since then I've been searching for a proper working PC, and I can't find it. There's always something that I can't get over. In the case of the Yoga in this video it's not working with accessories like docks and eGPUs the way I intended. The mac is not perfect but it works to an extent that it never limits me. That's what I need.

      I used both macbook pro 14 and slim 7 pro x. So far I haven't encountered deal breaker issues with the lenovo model. Standy sleep is great for a windows laptop. Mac will still be better with sleep drain just like how IOS and Android works.

      Macs have their own issues. First of all macs limit me to play the games that I want. I can not even play the sims 3 on the macbook air haha. Its just ridiculous. I could not download steam.- If I have to buy the macbook pro it costs often way more with the same gb as the windows laptops that I have used.

    The real question here is the macbook worth double the price of the lenovo? I understand hardware wise, mac is superior but you're paying double. Had macbook 14 and It's a really nice device. I just had many compatibility issues with the software I use. It's really good for video editing stuff but for architecture visualization, the hardware improvement is not enough to compensate for the lack of compatibility and delayed software support

    • @w2best
      @w2best  Рік тому

      And that's really up to every person to decide. For me it is. It's worth 5 times the price the way it works for all my different business related use cases. 😊

    • @ArthropodSpidey
      @ArthropodSpidey Рік тому

      Could you provide any examples of lack of compatibility and delayed software support? That seems to be something that every person who hasn't used macOS or doesn't know how to use it says. I've never had any issues with compatibility and have yet to find any apps that are on Windows, but not on mac. For CAD and architecture software, it's very well known that they aren't supported on mac so that seems to be user error.

    • @maxjames00077
      @maxjames00077 Рік тому +1

      But the Macbook isn't superior hardware wise. People buy it for a combination of things. The screen might be better, but mini led has some issues too in dark rooms, it's hella bright tho. Apple is pretty overpriced hardware wise always. The best value u get from them is to buy the cheapest laptop they sell in a sale. That's where u can get good value. If you need more RAM or SSD, you are paying 100s of dollars extra, if not 1000s (serious)

      @@ArthropodSpideyMaybe you're not an architect that's why this well-known not supported in mac that your saying is all about Revit and other bim softwares. I just use autocad and sketchup with enscape which are fully supported and available in macos. The availability of the software is there but the feature parity is not the same between mac and windows. Developers still prioritizes the windows apps hence I encounter incompatibilities during work sessions. The software support is improving faster than before, It's just not yet at the level wherein working in a team will be smooth. These problems I encountered will not be apparent at first when you buy the product since it needs extensive usage and coordination with a team for problems to show up. I hope I answered your query thoroughly

    • @joyahub
      @joyahub Рік тому

      @@maxjames00077 I honestly don't have issues with the brightness of the laptop in dark rooms. Blooming is minimal and the brightness control and adjustment of the laptop is one of the best I've tried. Windows laptop usually doesn't go to 0 brightness even at 0 setting while macbook can go 0 brightness with even and refined steps as you move up the brightness. Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X is one sample of that wherein it will get bright sharply from 8-10 settings. 3-8 will be minimal brightness steps while 3-0 will not turn off the brightness. I do understand that Apple is charging way too much for the basic ssd and ram upgrades though.

    My question is would you recommend the yoga 7i 16” with 16gb or memory and 500 gb ssd or the MacBook Pro 13” m2 with 8gb of ram and 256 gb or ssd? I want to do photography at a mid level. I don’t go to deep into photoshop but at times I do need the power. At first I was 100% thinking MacBook but now looking at features like the tablet mode I have started to become more interested in the idea. Thanks!

      It really comes down to if you like Windows or Mac the most. However if you decide on a MacBook, get one with 16GB RAM. 8GB is too little nowadays for anything serious.

    I had the Slim 7 ProX, it’s a excellent device.
    But I returned it because the fan noise annoyed me quite a bit. It is completely silent during web browsing but the fans will kick in from time to time when watching UA-cam videos or when you scroll through Twitter … and there is no very quiet fan mode, the lowest mode is already quite noticeable. But not a annoying noise.
    Now I went for the (not so powerful) Surface Laptop 4 which will only turn on the fans under heavy tasks. Otherwise they are always off. But there’s a bit of coil whine there …
    If you are okay with a bit of fan noise buy the Yoga, it’s very very good! Especially the 120Hz 14,5 inch screen.

    • @JEYMS
      @JEYMS Рік тому +3

      I also noticed the almost constantly on fans when iewing UA-cam or when it's plugged even when doing low load tasks. It's a bit of a shame since I tested another laptop with AMD CPU and they wait that the temps goes up higher before the fans kick in. The lenovo spins up the fans as soon as the cpu temp reach 50C which is quite low. I would really like that lenovo give us a silent mode like samsung on its galaxy book2 pro 360.
      Also the battery life is quite average with around 6h of real world use with screen at 120hz and 50% brightness.
      However, for the rest, I really like the laptop and it is well built, and the screen is gorgeous!

    • @w2best

      This confuses me because my decide has not done that a single time. It starts the fans att boot, and then they're not on.

      @@w2best when watching a full hd (or higher resolution) video on UA-cam your fans dont kick in? Or when it's simply plugged in ?
      This would would explain why some people on reddit say it is dead silent and some other that fans are constantly on. However I would have expected that it would have been the Intel version with the fans on most of the time over the AMD version, but it looks like this time the roles are inverted 🤔

    I don’t understand is it that hard to mention HDMI which version 2.0 or 2.1 . Every single video on youtube every single you-tuber just say “ it has hdmi port “ aaaaand that is it. For example you can say how many external monitor hdmi port can handle, how much resolution, how much Hz? 60hz or 120hz external monitor ? Talk talk talk about this kind of thing.

    Cooling system is totally unreasonable for Lenovo Yoga (i have Ryzen 7 - 7735): "in battery saving mode" vents spin up every three minutes for simple light tasks like browsing, streaming or even writing. Things gets worser with the charger plugged in, since as soon the system recognizes temp higher than 41 degrees *which is the norm while charging* the vents will start from totally silent to annoying for the usual minute or two. Up and down, up and down, for all the day, it's not what i was expecting, no review told me about this and Lenovo does not have a manual fan controller, nor the common ones on the web are supported. I chosed the Yoga because i really feel comfortable with the whole laptop, especially with his screen size, since i find 13" screens a waste, because in the case I will surely end up buying a monitor which will be worse than the marvellous retina display on the mac. But i really miss a normal cooling system. Amd + lenovo is a big mistake
