The price is completely OK, I would have bought them except for the stupid case. Fix that and make them foldable, give me a USB-C cord and I will buy them.
I would love the AirPods max if it was lighter as it weighs heavy on my head and strains my neck and i also get headaches from these if that can be fixed i would buy
If they make the APM 2 with titanium i think it would be better. Why? So many people complain they are heavy at some time for long period of hours. Titanium is lighter
Airpods Max are good but there a a lot of decisions that are a NO for me. The stupid case, the low-power mode instead of just turning off, the condensation problem because of the materials in certain weathers, lightning with a horrible quality cable solution and because of the electronics and the previously mentioned condensation problem there's a lot of complaints about APM completely dead and being replaced by Apple multiple times
Hopefully the current AirPods Max Gen 2 leaks aren’t true. I’d like the AirPods Max Gen 2 to have H2 chip and proper case with a on/off switch. ( They could have easily made the Digital Crown function as an on off switch already.) sweat resistance is a must as well . I’d like to a redesigned headband something like the WH-1000 where it doesn’t lose tension after time If not reduce the price of the current Max’s because for $899 AUD they aren’t at all worth it
With all this delay, I really hope it’s worth the wait and they don’t treat the max like HomePod. Headphones are one of apples popular products, these a deserve refresh with updated specs.

With the reduced price, they need to add AP pro new features, folding, OFF button, fix other issues of v1 like condensation etc. Honestly if some other brand released the same headset, the headset would be flop. It only got succeeded due to Apple branding and apple’s existing ecosystem. Also Apple is doing some type of software encoding on AP max to make them perform better on Apple Music. If they want to do the same route then they need to upgrade the Apple Music library.
You just described any other pair of headphones. Just buy those if you want that. There’s a different brand out there that offers all of that. Why buy AirPods then?
