That’s my Impala. Almost finished with it, but still has some small things to be done. You guys made my day. Feels good when other car guys appreciate your build. Thanks to you and puddin for the motivation to get off my a**.
Good to seeya showing that rig some Luv! If you want to get a few more horses out of that 4 cyl I'd suggest giving it some Bosch or other brand platinum plugs.
Great video Slick. Badge may say Chevy but the valve cover says it all. Not hating, just saying resources may be more available than you think. Luv da truck.
I think the spare points set is a good idea. As best I can remember I could never file points and have them last more than a few hundred miles, wile new were cheap and avalable in every parts store. The new points lasted much longer .
You're gonna be doing a whole lot of Slicing and Dicing with Puddin' and Shoehorn in an LS, for now you could get a Pertronix Electronic ignition for your distributor, so you don't have to play with points Slick.
If you wanted to you could put an electronic ignition distributor from an 81 or 82 Luv pickup. Then decide from there what ignition system you want to put in.

I completely agree about points on a daily. Points just wear out too fast. I had an old 70 Ford and I changed the points on it a couple of times and then just got a pertronix and never looked back. Love the channel, it's not so much what you do as much as being fun to hang out with.

I loved that lil truck and it loved me.. never let me down.. even towards the end when she needed to be jump started... I can't quite remember what happened to the ol girl... But I sure would love to find another one now that I see you're having fun with that one.. keep up the good work guys 👍
Toss a cheap plastic see through inline fuel filter right before your carburetor. Save you the head ache of having to clean that bowl out in the future! I'm glad you started a channel!
Glad the Luv Tap is working good . My first car was a 2 door black on black 65 Impala i put chrome reverse with baby moons on it so that 67 is so nice to see . I like the tail lights on my 65 better !!
Great video. Good to see that you actually use your pickup truck and even have future plans for it. If you want to do something different, you can go RHD with it. A lot of these JDM cars from the 60's and 70's were made with both LHD and RHD in mind, that's why the dash and firewall is mirrored. I did this on a '77 Hilux, the only thing I had to source was a RHD steering box, because that didn't swap over. But the cluster, pedal box, brake booster, etc would swap over with a little fab.
I am glad that i subbed at 101! Two months ago!!! I believe in the fixin a dent, pop, touch , paint and polish , like you do.....plastic is just so good at keeping dents out!!!!! And too much mud is over skim!

Find an air filter box from a newer car or truck that you can modify to fit or work with your cold air intake idea, that way you can filter all the air coming into the engine compartment. Just an idea. God bless.
They make standard 4-barrell style air cleaner adapter plates for that Weber. I used one and modified a stock air cleaner housing (that wasn't a 4-barrell style) to go over the weber. Looked awesome and sleeper-like. But you can push air into something like that. Also, consider a Pertronix points-replacement - assuming they make one for that. Simple 2-wire hookup and makes a world of difference.
Great video - sound, lighting, angles, all premium! I love how you UA-camrs get SO MUCH out of those tiny consumer cams!! Keep it comin, I love watching you develop your style guys!!
There's a filter in the front of the carb where your fuel line goes in. Mine died once because that was full of trash from the fuel pump coming apart previously.
Slick __ I had a '72 LUV that acted just like you said yours did. Come to find out, there was a loose wire on the condenser. Mine had two sets of points. It cured the problem for me.

Im sure a bunch of people have said so, but fun fact. There are those 6 flat head bolts for the top plate you took off after you removed the carb. I have a mazda b2000 with the weber, and usually you can take the top plate off the carb without taking the body off the int manifold. You can quick access the jets and float bowl this way. Also, Its a good way to keep your carb to int. gasket happy if it was happy before. Taking the whole carb off to not be leaning over a minitruck fender? I understand completely. Came from puddins. Hope your channel grows like his. I respect your skill and patience for bodywork very much. Loved the firebird.
Just finished watching the completion of the Firebird - great looking car! Love watching you and your friends hanging out and having fun. Makes good content. One question: Puddin said "we're just gonna primer the back side of these panels". I am no paint and body man, but I did take three semesters at San Jac college in houston, and they taught us that primer is just a base for the paint - and paint is what protects the steel. Has that technique been revised?
