I was very pleased with the soundtrack on this one. I spend a LOT of time listening to the tracks of my cooperating artists and feel the music really hit the right notes. Thanks for the feedback. 🤘
Wow, that Porsche looks incredible after the RAD GARAGE treatment, especially in that beautiful blue color. These Porsche's have really stood the test of time in regards to looks. @@RADGarageLol. It’s funny to think back over my life so far. I’m 64. I’ve occasionally been told “You’re intense, man, almost obsessive”. Indeed, and that means an ability & inclination to focus sharply on whatever I’m doing. I’m not satisfied by a perfunctory job. It’s in you or it’s not, I believe. It has its downsides for sure. I generally don’t much like that blue, but I realise it’s because often, people don’t clean it well. Done well, it is a stunning colour. Oh, and I agree with you that the 996 variants are coming to be more appreciated after years in the doldrums. My 40th anniversary edition is just beautiful, so glad I chose it.
I have kind of forgotten about this project over time. Your comment inspired me to watch it again with my own eyes, and there is no denying that blue Porsche looked pretty sweet by the end! I think Nick sold that 911 a while back.
What a great Saturday morning. I just watched Pan do a full detail on his 911 and then I get to come here you as watch you breathe brilliance into a another Porsche. Great job Rick.
A wonderfull example of detailing and professional etiquette . A side note for this car ; using the in car button "wing lift" would allow you easier access to some rear sections.

@@RADGarage she actually spent quite a bit of time snuggled up to me watching the coating. She watched some of the wheel wash and said "Bubbles!!!!". "Washing the blue car!!" And "I like it!"

It's like the polish actually bonded with the paint. It took a lot of elbow grease and colourful language to finally get it all off.

Rick you never fail to deliver, another satisfying detail! Your videos inspire me to wash my cars every time I watch and I’m never happy unless I get similar results to you as you set a very high standard. Have a great day sir
Yeah, the saddle tan leather is a bit polarizing, but I feel it works. Thanks for the compliment on this project. I am super happy with how it all came together and the owner (Nick) was highly appreciative of my efforts and results.
As always beautiful craftsmanship and production. I have never used those polishes and they made the blue paint pop. Those yellow Rupes pads are my favorite for polishing when they work. Whooooooo the coating looked like it was relatively straight forward to apply and left a ton of gloss. In the end the twenty year old Porsche looked brand new. Only the wheels dated this timeless design. Thank you for the cool video!

Thanks. It is fun to focus on a car like this while wondering how the video footage will play out once I edit it all. I would say it came out better than I expected. Thanks for the comment.
This has to be one of your best videos yet 👏👏 loved every minute of it including the hockey game you had on haha. Awesome work the paint looked like you could jump in it had so much depth. That’s Perfection 👍🏻
That paint was spectacular, especially considering its 20 years of age. I did the "after shots" while game 4 between the Flames and Oilers was playing. We tied that game up and I was shouting my lungs out in the garage. I'm sure my neighbours could hear!

Hey Rick. I’m subscribed and I gave you a 👍. I’m doing my part to keep you going to your garage. 😀. Actually, I’ll give you another 👍for good measure. 😃😃
Hi Rick ! What a gorgeous car you worked on 😍! Really worth a 20 hours investment I think it must have been quite finnicky to find the right combo between cut & finish. But as always final result is just mind blowing. I have seen my friend use Myiabi coating on a black Porsche (can't remember the exact paint) and man that's top of the line ceramic coating ! Don't know if you will agree with me but I find it so fine to have kept some"battlefield scars" here and there. It gives to the car some character, so to speak So much better than another showroom car completely scratchless from top to bottom. Nice to see but kind of lifeless, if you know what I mean. I guess your friend will be so thankful and proud as a peacock to discover his baby ! Great job dude Take care and as always stay RAD 🤘🤘
I completely agree. A few battle scars on a 20-year-old vehicle with original paint is completely acceptable in my opinion. In fact, if you don't have a few "beauty marks", you must not really be enjoying it. Not to say you should thrash your car, but things are going to happen over that period of time if you use the car as it is designed to be used. Thanks for tuning in Gregg.
That one is sold by Detail Popo. I have cut it in half as I don't like mitts so much. There are a few other companies offering the same one under their brand name.
I have been trying to figure out what tool/brush you are using for cleaning inside the wheel. My experience with such equipment has not been great. Was hoping to give yours a try. However, I can never seem to find a link to it in your discriptions. Thank you!
The vast majority of my wheel cleaning involves the Daytona Speedmaster Pro brush you see in my videos. They don't make it any more. But, EZ Detail carries essentially the exact same brush but it is blue. You used to be able to find it around the Internet, but I noticed it is no longer carried by my favourite supplier. Mine has been with me for over a decade and I love it. It is the one on the left of the link here: www.eshine.ca/collections/ez-detail-brushes
@@RADGarage Thanks for that. Ordering now. Last question... How have you cleaned/maintained the brush so that it lasts? Your brush does not look 10 years old. Do you let it soak in some solution for a period then rinse? Or are the bristles no porous and therefore don't require anything more than a rinse?
@@RADGarage I went from kamikaze to mainly gtechniq now but i should revisit some kamikaze coatings lol. Love the vid man i cant wait for more to come 🙌
I really like experimenting with various coatings. Just when I get stuck on one and think it is the best, and opportunity presents itself to try something new and then I love that one. I think I'll be giving some GTechniq and Gyeon coatings a try this summer on various upcoming projects. I also love EVO by NV.
That's just a generic garden hose spray nozzle I picked up at my local Canadian Tire. I feel that a regular pressure rinse is all that is required to rid the car of the soapy residue after a hand wash. It takes less water and time imo.
It may be the best coating I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Absolutely incredible. It doesn't surprise me it is popular with the team at Esoteric. I will be using it again for sure. The results were absolutely spectacular.
In the US, you visit the website at www.vyperindustrial.com and use “RADGarage” for a $25 discount or if you’re in Canada, you go to www.tocsupplies.ca and use “RADGarage” for 10% off! 🤘
Great video! Was the rear wing not functional? Wondering why you didn't detail all its surfaces. I actually forgot to raise mine the last time I took it in for detailing 😂
Great Video Rick you Editing skills are getting so good, What are thoughts on Kamikaze Miyabi Coat? how would you compare it to Gyeon Moes or Crystal Serum light? asking because i have used Gyeon and Crystal Siruim light with Exo on other projects but i want to try something Different on my new M340i.
I waited an entire 24 hours before spritzing the Boost on there. I am confident that the Boost adds slickness and hydrophobic properties to the coating without interfering with its performance. I got this advice directly from the US distributor of NV products. Jet and Lustre would be a different story.
Boost is just an enhanced detailer. It doesn't leave a layer of protection behind, so the coating can still breathe. In a few weeks, I could hit that coating with Jet or Lustre, but Boost is not going to impact the curing of that coating. I liken Boost to adding a layer of EXO on top of a coating.
Yes, I have worked with UHS twice. Can't say I love it, but it was fine. Here's a video showcasing one time I used it: ua-cam.com/video/Y5_fENcjOPs/v-deo.html
Thanks Frosty. The bottle says between 5-10 minutes to flash, but I was working a bit quicker than that. Probably around 3-4 minutes. It was a very easy coating to apply and remove. I'm super satisfied. It will be interesting to hear from the owner how it performs this summer for him.
Hey Rad, when you say you had to go light because the paint is as marginal compared to the door jam was it because there was less clear coat or lots left and you wanted to preserve?
It is my understanding that they do apply less clear coat in the jambs and sills. AFAIK, that's the only way to determine what possible thickness of clear is on the exterior portions of the car. I think Esoteric has a good video that explains it properly.
I always put the track info in the description along with the SoundCloud playlist. soundcloud.com/user-686194555/sets/996-turbo/s-RnmXpjZfVSN?.treatment

Those saddle tan leather interiors are a love it/hate it thing, but it didn't take long for the combo to grow on me! Thanks for watching, Chris.
Wonderfull!
Many thanks!
Waoooo savage brutal!!!
Thanks!
Hey Rick. I’m subscribed and I gave you a 👍. I’m doing my part to keep you going to your garage. 😀. Actually, I’ll give you another 👍for good measure. 😃😃
Awesome. That’s all it takes! 🤘
Beautiful. Only thing missing to make it perfect are window tints.
Tints are cool, but it attracts the cops here.

Hi Rick !
What a gorgeous car you worked on 😍!
Really worth a 20 hours investment
I think it must have been quite finnicky to find the right combo between cut & finish.
But as always final result is just mind blowing.
I have seen my friend use Myiabi coating on a black Porsche (can't remember the exact paint) and man that's top of the line ceramic coating !
Don't know if you will agree with me but I find it so fine to have kept some"battlefield scars" here and there.
It gives to the car some character, so to speak
So much better than another showroom car completely scratchless from top to bottom.
Nice to see but kind of lifeless, if you know what I mean.
I guess your friend will be so thankful and proud as a peacock to discover his baby !
Great job dude
Take care and as always stay RAD 🤘🤘
I completely agree. A few battle scars on a 20-year-old vehicle with original paint is completely acceptable in my opinion. In fact, if you don't have a few "beauty marks", you must not really be enjoying it. Not to say you should thrash your car, but things are going to happen over that period of time if you use the car as it is designed to be used. Thanks for tuning in Gregg.
Incredible results Rick! Where is the microfiber wheel mitt from that you used?
That one is sold by Detail Popo. I have cut it in half as I don't like mitts so much. There are a few other companies offering the same one under their brand name.
@@RADGarage ok thanks
Another outstanding job Rick. How was the Miyabi coat to work with? Have a great weekend!
The Miyabi was absolutely beautiful to work with. I give it a full 10/10.
SICK
Thanks Paul. It was a rewarding project in every way.
@@somethingawesome9547 All I do is rinse it clean and let it air dry. Nothing fancy at all.
YES!! MIYABI COATING! if you love Miyabi Rick, your gunna really like ZIPANG! 👍
I have heard that Zipang is super sticky. Have you found that? I really enjoyed the Miyabi Coat.
@@RADGarage yeah it is a little grabby but once removed its got probably the best wet look gloss i have ever seen from a coating.👍
Interesting....
Hello, as always,,, at the height of Ricky
Haha. Thanks. I like that. 🤘
After the hand wash, which spray nozzle do you use to remove all the soap? Thanks in advance!!
That's just a generic garden hose spray nozzle I picked up at my local Canadian Tire. I feel that a regular pressure rinse is all that is required to rid the car of the soapy residue after a hand wash. It takes less water and time imo.
Fantastic job Rick. They love Myabi Coat over at Esoteric. What's your opinion on it compared to other coatings you've used?
It may be the best coating I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Absolutely incredible. It doesn't surprise me it is popular with the team at Esoteric. I will be using it again for sure. The results were absolutely spectacular.
@@RADGarage 😳 Wow. Quite a compliment coming from you. ✌🏻
Oh man! I want a Viper detailing chair too, where can I go to get one?!🔥👍
Yeah, it’s a fixed wing. I detailed every square inch of it. You can trust me on that!
Did that container come with the carpro wheel covers because mine didn't?
No, that's a zip-tie container that I repurposed into my wheel cover storage container.
Honestly, the Miyabi Coat was the best coating I have ever used. It was absolutely next level.
@@RADGarage Thank you so much RIck!!!
Dream car, awesome video! How long do you wait until applied Boost after the ceramic coating? Can be this oversaturate the coating?
I waited an entire 24 hours before spritzing the Boost on there. I am confident that the Boost adds slickness and hydrophobic properties to the coating without interfering with its performance. I got this advice directly from the US distributor of NV products. Jet and Lustre would be a different story.
@@RADGarage oh thanks for answer. The final result is stunning! Love your videos. Cheers from Mexico 🇲🇽
Technical question; how do you use Boost over a coating that has not cured for 7 days? Respond at your leisure and when able. Thanks
Fantastic! Thanks for clarification.
I know you’re a fan of TAC, have you tried any of their actual coatings?
Yes, I have worked with UHS twice. Can't say I love it, but it was fine. Here's a video showcasing one time I used it: ua-cam.com/video/Y5_fENcjOPs/v-deo.html
Beautiful end result. How long is the working time of the Miyabi coating from application to levelling and buffing?
Thanks Frosty. The bottle says between 5-10 minutes to flash, but I was working a bit quicker than that. Probably around 3-4 minutes. It was a very easy coating to apply and remove. I'm super satisfied. It will be interesting to hear from the owner how it performs this summer for him.
El resultado final es mejor q recién sacado de la fábrica
Gracias. La fábrica no aplica recubrimientos de alto brillo, por lo que en realidad se ven mucho mejor después de la instalación del recubrimiento.
Hey Rad, when you say you had to go light because the paint is as marginal compared to the door jam was it because there was less clear coat or lots left and you wanted to preserve?
The measurements were very similar indicating not much clear left thus why I went easy.
@@RADGarage Thanks Rad, do they put less clear on the door jams at factory ? Seems like a good indicator to use to decide the polishing procedure
It is my understanding that they do apply less clear coat in the jambs and sills. AFAIK, that's the only way to determine what possible thickness of clear is on the exterior portions of the car. I think Esoteric has a good video that explains it properly.
Woot!
Thanks Larry!
👍 thx =)
