Our Coachmen has the strip light in the pass-through but i like that ours has a switch so that you can leave the door open w/o leaving the light on. Are they putting on Lithium batteries as standard or upgrade for house batteries?
Regarding the LED strip lights inside, I would like it if they had separate switches for each one sometimes you don't want all of the lights on. Although I do like the dimmer switch ability As far as the pass-through lights I think it would be nice to have a separate switch as I might leave my past through door open for a while also as I take things in and out at night and when I want bugs Etc in there I would also concur with the comments about the motion sensor lights. It would be nice if they had a separate switch on off And finally, I did not hear anything about Grand Design changing the sink and faucet in the aim series. Come on Grand Design get rid of the itty bitty teeny tiny awful sync.
No rear bumper is just about making money. I doubt that they drop the price relative to the cost of the bumper. And although having no bumper offers a cleaner look, I’d would rather replace the bumper than do fibreglass repairs!
We are GD and especially Imagine fans but there are some negatives for us on some of these upgrades. The basement lights ....we leave our door open a lot so I would have to disconnect the door switch. The new strip lights inside......being long term owners these lights don't look easy to replace when they go bad, and they will. The motion lights in the bedroom and hall would get disconnect immediately, lol. Great info as always , thanks for the info.
@WanderingWeekends we are on 7th year and have replaced 3, they started goin bad last year. All in all not bad considering the vibration they take and they are easy to replace.
Great features. Did I also hear correctly that they're putting Rack and Pinion slides now on 2500RL and 2600RB? No Schwintek on these?!? Not sure about other models but thinking those 2 specifically is what I heard. If so, yay!
Same here! It is the biggest reason I have not bought the 2670mk yet. Not ready to deal with the kitchen slide yet. Any word on removing carpet in the slides as well?
Love the ABS on the trailers. But I’m not sure how I feel about the new interior lighting. It’s going to take some time to get used to that style. GD is a solid camper and you can’t really go wrong with them. Thanks for sharing.
ours was one of the "early off the line" 2024's that doesn't have the ABS, hitch for my bike rack and no bumper for the Stinky Slinky. Dang! Never knew about the upgrades. We got the others but the ABS, hitch for bikes and tube for the Slinky would be awesome.
Nice to see the basement floor. An early upgrade I made to mine was to put one in. It wasn't hard; you buy tile packs from the big box store and cut to fit, and that looks like what they have here. Word to the wise: DO NOT spill your Tiki torch fuel on them, it will eat them up and you will have to replace them. Ask me how I know.
@@WanderingWeekends I’ll second that. I love the idea (the lights in the pass through as well) but there needs to be an off switch. I sometimes have a pass through door open because there is stuff right at the end I might be accessing. At night the lights just draw bugs so I would really want the ability to turn them off manually.
Is it abs or is it a sway control system with abs? I know lippert came out with a sway control system a year or so ago and tuson sway control has been out for 10 years.
Removing the rear bumper to add the hitch makes no sense. Rockwood has both. Can't imagine (pun not intended) it's very easy to remove the spare from directly under the middle of the camper.
Thanks for the video. Do you know if Imagine will begin using Azdel? Also, has GD given thought to putting rear cargo doors on there 21bhe model? Finally, I saw slam latches…have they replaced the cam locks on all the imagine xls models with slam latches?
You had better be a dawg!!! Don't make me unsubscribe!!! Our little slice of lake is on Logan Martin in Alabama, and I love flying my UGA flag on my boat in Bama!!!! Go dawgs!!!! Keep up the good work brother, and thank you for what you do!
All great, but when are they going to finally get with the program and move to Azdel? To each, his own, but remains a no-touch mfg for me until they start using better materials.
They chose USB-A charging ports in 2023? Yikes. It's not 2007 anymore. Either include USB-C or don't include anything at all as they're nearly dead tech.
Do you feel the added sewer hose storage, winch and mount for the spare, and built in receiver costs less than the bumper? I’d bet the house it cost more. Those thin bumpers aren’t very useful.
Are the tank monitors part of the valve? If so, it means no emergency tank exchanges. That's a bummer for when it's suddenly 9f at night. ABS on a camper is wild. I love the lights and the new flooring in the storage bay. If I'm being honest though... An undermount spare means I'm gonna be really bad about checking it before a trip.
I’ll have to investigate that. If it’s a true emergency though just buy the bottle vs trade. I can’t imagine it would happen much. Has never happened to us.
I would avoid buying a new RV, as the RV quality has gone down hill since 2008. Campers and 5th wheel come with axles and wheel produced by non-certified (ISO 9001) companies with the option of breaking axle or spindles, blowing up tires, and wheel tumbling across the highway. With the red brake drums they are now much easier to identify and find in the woods.
Great info, appreciate the video. GD taking a page out of Rockwood book by adding features. ABS is fantastic. But not sure about the interior lights. Also, GD needs to step (pun intended) into modern times and get rid of fold out steps. Just copy either Rockwood or Alta.
Thanks for this info. We have a Rockwood, and will consider Grand Design in the future. By the way, will you be doing an update to your review of the new hitch(B&W)?
I'm getting ready to pick up my 2024 GD XLS 22MLE and I wish it had that type of latch on the front pass through storage doors as this one. Mine has the standard twist latches (which I don't like and never have). I have everything else you show on this as upgrades though.
I had some warranty work done on our 2015 Heartland Prowler back in 2017. The front storage had water damage and needed rebuilt. Heartland ran out of the matching flooring and I joked to the rep "how about some toy hauler flooring". They ran it up the chain and it was done. In my opinion this should be standard across the board, especially for wear and tear.
Someone commented about the spare tire being underneath the trailer. I had that with my current trailer and I have to admit I have never checked the air pressure. That being said I have knockwood never needed my spare and I carry a 12 volt tire inflator so if I were had to have an issue oh, I could just inflate the Tyre after I put it on

Those interior lights look really great. Really clean and sharp. Smart 💪🏻

I’d bet the under mount winch for the spare, added receiver, and sewer hose storage cost way more than the bumper.
Wait a second, this is a for profit company? Who knew? 😂
Do you know where I can order the part for the drop down counter? Want to get one to install in my 21bhe so that it matches the counter. Thanks!
Give Grand Design a call. I’m not sure if they offer that part or not.
Do these apply to the XLX models? Great video!! Thank you
Yes!

Yes we have the motion lights and they go on constantly even when nobody is walking by. Can’t stand them.
I would like to see the replacement cost on those. That said our little puck lights have lasted 6 years so maybe these will last too.

Many Imagines have moved to R&P slides. My preference as well!
Same here! It is the biggest reason I have not bought the 2670mk yet. Not ready to deal with the kitchen slide yet. Any word on removing carpet in the slides as well?

We like the new lighting in the 22 mle. You can dim the lights. There is an adjustable slide on the light switch. Nice for the night time

Can the motion lights be powered completely off? Thinking about roaming pets in the middle of the night.
I wish. We have them and they are so sensitive that they constantly flick on and off all night with no one walking around at all!🤷🏼♂️
I didn’t see an off option. I’ll speak with GDRV and see. I’d like to be able to turn them off.

ABS is it’s own system. Grand Design is actually independently developing something pretty interesting for sway.
@@WanderingWeekends I know they have a sway control system out, just wondering if this was a upgrade to that system?

AIM uses Azdel. I’m not sure about the other lines.

Haha! My man! Fly it high!!
Nice layout on that trailer Cory thanks I like a lot of the new options they have chosen 👍
All great, but when are they going to finally get with the program and move to Azdel? To each, his own, but remains a no-touch mfg for me until they start using better materials.
They use Azdel in their AIM units, specifically for weight savings.
They chose USB-A charging ports in 2023? Yikes. It's not 2007 anymore. Either include USB-C or don't include anything at all as they're nearly dead tech.
Several of both in these units.
Any chance you could do the same video on the reflection line? Rumors of a new 5th wheel line coming soon? always appreciate your content.
I’ll be doing several from Hershey!
Nice rig, quality is crap.
No bumper means a moderate rear end accident means lots of rear end damage, just to save cost.
Do you feel the added sewer hose storage, winch and mount for the spare, and built in receiver costs less than the bumper? I’d bet the house it cost more. Those thin bumpers aren’t very useful.

Everyone of those monitors I’ve seen has the tank monitors as part of the pigtail. So you can still freely exchange tanks.
Nice upgrades. Appreciate this information.
You bet
Are two cats 🐈 😻 love turning on the motion lights all night 🌙
Yeah… definitely something to think about 🤣

Nice, motion light at end of the bed is nice but our Dog Bed is there, she probably wouldn’t like it. Lol
I love the RD floor plan.

Wish I was with you again a the rally, it was so much fun last year.
Love the innovation. Good job GD!
Nice.
Nice
