Talk sport pundits absolutely ridiculed the conference cup, dismissive smirking, 'Papa Johns' third rate, not as good a season as Brighton who had won nothing, now to suit the moyes mate argument, hands a loft ' A European Trophy '
It’s decent for a club like West Ham

Wish these media people would get their facts right. Moyes didn't have 3 consecutive top half finishes. We narrowly escaped relegation last year with 40 points.
plus this seasons placing isnt down solely to him, depending how you want to look at it, down to fortune and other unexpected results. Why not look at the results we threw away because of his style.
And also look at the quality of the players he has at his disposal and he has them playing like Stoke 2008.
The Moysies forget the 35 games in the bottom 6
@iandavis6570 Totally with you.
Always said that, top 4/5, bottom 4/5, there because they deserve to be. Everyone crowding out the middle take points fro m each other, lose or win unexpectedly.
We were in 7th for weeks, and really should have been 15th on our performances.
Oh get a grip. If Moyes is so good why aren’t clubs queuing up for him. NONE of you want him at YOUR club, but apparently West Ham fans have to suffer his archaic football.
Rumours are rife that will take over utd after ten hag leaves in the summer. He deserves a second chance. I think even utd will be happy now if they would win the conference league
@@samadbaksh he’s going to work at talksport.
Bottom line is ... we've won four games in five months!
cant wait to see all the teams lining up for Moyes🤣 🤣🤣🤣
Teams will, but lower table Prem clubs.
No west ham fan ever, EVER, claimed that we should play like Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City. Moyes has been sacked based on recent form. A bunch of wins in 2024 and more beatings (5 goals or more) than wins. What club in their right mind wouldn't sack him based on recent form (4 months)? Would any of the middle table sides want Moyes now? Cm'on.
All the "poor Moyes" brigade makes me laugh.
i dnt think we are poor moyes, more think he probabkly acheived as much as was possible at a mid table to lower club overall

@paul2524 They haven't a game in seven games and we got beat by northern ireland at home. 😂😂😂
We have been absolutely dreadful this year, only 4 wins whilst setting up defensively and still getting hammered. Last season was a real struggle in the league, a season long relegation fight with a cup win papering over the cracks. We just want to a West Ham team to have a go and play some football, not have 30% possession and snatch something on the break. Mainstream media really should at least attempt to see it from a fans perspective..
Completely mate. Even when winning, you never see Hammers control or look a force. Bournemouth, Fulham and Palace in the ascendancy all play with purpose, we get in front and look vulnerable.
Finally someone on talksport who can understand the view of the average west ham fan. Thanks Danny Murphy.

@@PazLeBon
Bottom half clubs don’t give their managers over £500M to spend during their tenure and expect to end up with the smallest/oldest squad in the league.
Moyes was at West Ham for 4.5 seasons. However, we only had 2 full good seasons from that. Only Sheffield utd have a worse defensive record than us this season (we've conceded 70 goals so far), and we had a relegation battle for the whole of last season.
Moyes has spent half a billion pounds in his time here, but he leaves us with an old, tiny, unbalanced squad in need of a rebuild.
Because of that conference league trophy pundits have an unjustified clouded view of Moyes. Moyes has done a mediocre job at best.
you think its a top ten club?
WH's target at the beginning of every season is to avoid relegation and win their cup final against Tottenham so its been more than a mediocre season.
@@thefivepointsyou act like West Ham have a relegation battle every season when that’s not true. 2 relegations in 22 years. Other than that, they had like 4 of the other years fighting it. Zola we barely stayed up, curbishly kept us up, Allardyce we had one bad season ending up 14th, then Moyes came in under Pellegrini. Any season else they’ve been 6th (Bilic) to 12th not including those relegation fights I mentioned.

We let in 70 goals
How can people blatantly lie. West Ham fans don’t say they expect 6 or 7th we just want to play nice entertaining football for the size of the club and investment currently.
If Lopetegui plays nice, entertaining football but doesn't qualify for Europe or win a domestic cup, West Ham fans will eventually call for his head.
@beatonthedonis If the fans are entertained and we are midtable, but we have brought forward a few youngsters. Then the fans will be fine.
But if he spends a similar amount as Moyes and plays boring football, then the fans will be on not only his back but also Sullivans as well.
@@beatonthedonis The word "eventually" is doing alot of heavy lifting there. Sounds like Simon had one hell of a bank holiday!
He was alright yesterday
Why are all these so called media experts so concerned about Moyes. Most of em are telling the world how great moyes is, he’ll walk into the anfield job no worries.
His time at Everton is also inexplicably praised when he didn't do anything there for 10 years, no trophies and one failed attempt to get through the CL qualifying round at the start of 05/06.
Most fans still hate the stadium, we are just realistic that we are stuck with it so whats the point in bleating on about it forever more. Talksport really just spout their own opinions on teams without knowing really whats going on
Why give him a send off he was paid £5m a year. He has taken over £20m off the club

We still hate that shopping centre extension disguised as a stadium
The chasm between the 2 tiers behind the goals is atrocious
One day Sully will keep his promise to move the seats closer to the pitch 🙄
Do I believe my ears? Talksport pundits Danny Murphy, Jim White and Simon Jordan actually acknowledging that West Ham fans might have had a point when they said they didn't like watching their own team? Surely not! Are they now saying that Moyes might have had something to do with the poor tactics, poor performances, the poor in-game management, the lack of youngsters being brought through, admitting that he never takes personal responsibility for poor results and throws his own players under the bus, with a record 70 goals conceded so far, with the lowest possession stats, losing by six to Arsenal, five to Fulham, Palace and Newcastle, four to Villa, with oldest team in the league, still relying upon a 34 year old converted winger up front, gaslighting his own fans and belittling the club's history...surely not.
Otherwise that would mean they have deliberately been talking rubbish for the last six months or more. Or did I dream all that?
Bang-On mate. You've nailed it ⚒
We were in Europe this year, not on merit as we finished 14th, ask yourself who did we meet in Europe before Leverkusen should we not have beaten with some of the players we have - 70 goals against this year so far is the worst West Ham defence even when we were relegated - 3 Wins in 2024 / Oldest Squad / Thinnest Squad ----- So Mr Sweaty why should we stick with him ?
Because you looked like relegation fodder before he arrived and he won you a European trophy.
It's as simple as that really. It's a gamble getting rid, he'd have had you stable mid-table forevermore, and the hope is a new manager will build on the foundations and do better. But it's very possible you'll do a lot worse too.
We've saw the same script at Everton with Moyes. I don't blame you for getting rid, but at the same time I can see why people think it's mad too.
Are you seriously saying that we had the right to beat leverkusen because of the players we have? 😂 They are the best team in europe right now
@@tubey84 in the season he took over he got 1 more point from same amount of games - we finished 14th last season that's not mid table, if it had not been for very good luck ie - Chelsea / Arsenal / Tottenham where we were battered but still won, and our goal difference we would have been in a relegation battle - Yes the new manager might come in and do a worse job, but if you don't take risks in life you will achieve nothing
We took Moyes after getting Sunderland relegated and doing terrible in Spain and being a huge flop at Man Utd, so we took a risk there and it paid off a bit, but now its time to try something else
@@brawrecords maybe take the time to read the post - I said before Leverkusen, which indicates I think Leverkusen are the 1st good team we met, so when people bang on about well we got to the qtr finals, well yes we should have done, we played the same team 4 times, we got a BUY in the round of 32, so hardly a tough route to the qtrs

Thank you Danny Murphy for giving an honest & fair assessment of how U.S. Hammers fans actually feel. You made some really good comparisons to other supporters. Unfortunately White & Jordan have an agenda & derailed you & took elsewhere where even you said this about West Ham fans not Moyes.
The truth about the GAS LIGHTING David Moyes, these are not my options as they are clear FACTS!
1. When Moyes took over from Fergie in 2013 he sacked all of his back room staff because he wanted complete control of all of the aspects of the club. 12 years later the club have not recovered from his incompetence
2. Having been SACKED by United in 2014 Moyes moved onto Real Sociedad where he lasted a year with a win rate of 29% before being SACKED AGAIN
3. During Moyes time at Real Sociedad he did not make any attempts to learn Spanish. Sometime later Moyes got a new rule introduced within the Scottish FA that all new managers getting their required badges had to learn a second language even though HE NEVER DID!
4. In 2016 Moyes joined Sunderland where he got them RELEGATED after achieving an amazingly low 19% win rate. Just like Man Utd, Sunderland have never recovered from it!
5. Moyes agreed to take over the WHU manager job whilst Slaven Bilic was still in charge 2017 (Slimy or what) for Moyes to then go onto having a 29% win rate even though Bilic win rate was 38%
6. In 2018 WHU decided not to extend Moyes 1 year contract so they brought onboard the 10 yes TEN managerial trophy winning Pelegrini as their new manager. The board had a knee jerk reaction in sacking him 18 months later in 2019 when WHU were in the relegation zone even though there was a good chance that he would have secured Prem League safety had be been allowed to carry on.
7. So the club decided to bring back David Moyes who previously had a 29% win rate to replace Pelegrini who had a win rate of 38% (the same as Bilic)
8. Moyes steadied the ship over the next 4 seasons whilst "AS HE LIKES TO TELL EVERYONE" that "HE" won them their first cup in 40 years ... and he did ... but look at the FACTS ... as the WHU had given Moyes over £500m worth of talent over the past 4 years. The really amazing fact is that this sum of money was MORE than ALL OF the teams that WHU played in that European competition COMBINED!!!
9. Moyes has an amazingly concerning poor history of hand picking players himself that cost the club tens of millions of pounds to then play them out of position to then inform the club that he didn't want them anymore that resulted the players being sold as a major loss as he did with Haller, Scamacca, Benrahma, Vlasic & Cornet to name a few
10. WHU has one of the best academies in world football at the moment but Moyes simply will not play these players even in cup competitions against lesser teams like Bristol City who funny enough beat WHU because our team was simply tied because of the lack of player rotation
11. Considering the £500m that Moyes has wasted over the 4 years, he is leaving the club with the smallest and OLDEST squad in the Prem League.
So there you go, just a few FACTS about the useless snake oil salesman David Moyes who for some really weird reason has the football media in his pocket as they constantly patronise the WHU fans with ignorant statements like "Be careful what you wish for" as these clowns don't pay to watch the narcissistic one trick negative pony David Moyes terrible so called football
Very well put
He was running the club into the ground and the Phillips signing was an example of him not caring about wasting money when Philipps was being called out by Pep. His best days are well and truly over

West Ham have missed Dawson a lot more than Rice.
Moyes deserves to be given a send off with a decent farewell and a dignified exit. What's discussed on this show, however, is not just about playing style but about mismanagement. Had West Ham not won the ECL he would have gone at the end of last season. It's doubtful as to whether he was actually offered a new contract in February. A verbal draft agreement more likely pending results to the end of this season. Moyes plotted his own downfall by turning down multiple players in the transfer window under the new DOF philosophy for which Steidten was brought in for and did not rotate properly with the players on the bench who were not given game time. Moyes had a veto on all transfers under the terms of his own 'manager's' contract. He left the squad threadbare resulting in first team players running out of steam with league and European football having to play. The same mistake was made by him two seasons prior. They went out of the Europa league with a whimper then. There is more but there's no point in going on. Hopefully the DOF system can now be implemented.
Would you pay to watch a boxer win a fight with just a jab? That what it feels like
All West Ham fans want is to see their players THRIVING. In the last four years, win or lose, I can honestly say I have never seen the players look like they are thriving. They mainly look uncomfortable.
Come on Simon..... London Stadium is hated by the fans..... So don't say it isn't
Whufc fans had enough of shipping 70 plus goals a season and sitting back against the other 19 teams. Moyes has had Scammacca and Heller in the last 3 years, they're both scoring for fun in Europe and Moyes completely wasted them. Enough, no tears at all as he exits from me.
Moyes refused to sign a new contract and stated he would look at it at the end of the season to decide on his future then. The club had no choice but to then go out and search for a possible replacement. Then the results continued to be very poor, no actually, they,ve been bloody awful. This forces the issue. Moyes had to go. What would you do if you owned the club, you have to protect it and look forward. In this case the board did the right thing. It’s Moyes who has undermined himself
We still don’t like the stadium Jim you just don’t understand
Finally, Simon's started to make sense lol. You have to meet us halfway. Moyes refuses too. And he lost his bet because his stats are so bad, no one can keep a top job with them. On top of that, he has no extenuating circumstances to bail him out. No major injuries or loss of personnel. Just really bizarre decisions (let go of 3 internationals in Jan and get in a player who has barely kicked a ball for 2 yrs!). Us fans didn't do anything to Moyes, he did it himself. Because he is arrogant and stubborn bless him.. And thats how it goes if thats how your personality is. You get found out.
100%
Agreed. Thought he was smart getting one over Tim by signing Phillips and delaying signing the contract. Everything backfired for him. An awful man, only marginally better than Sam as a person
Simon Jordan reminds me of a Harry Enfield character, always trying to overcomplicate his words and sentences to try to sound clever.😅
no, not at all dont hate on what you dont understand, language is precious
Thank you Danny Murhpy the voice of reason amongst opinionated media mud slingers.
Who have no idea about fans and what they what.. it’s an entertainment business.. West Ham fans don’t have ideas of grandeur.. we never have. It’s about football, and football only. Moyes has done he’s best, and we appreciate that, and it’s time to move on.. what’s not to get?.
Uhm, no. We still hate the "athletics stadium". You know, the one we were told if we agreed to move there we'd have a "world class"team playing in the Champion's League within 5 years.
All MSM seem to have been given their talking points, take the money boys dont think about it, do as your told....
Jim again looking for Simon to help carry his narrative when Danny disagrees
Finally a pundit who understands, he won’t be on talk sport anymore for understanding West Ham Fans
You only need to look at some of the goals we've conceded this season! 5 at Palace, 5 at Fulham, 5 at Chelsea, 6 at Arsenal. Shocking in my opinion!
Results in 24 we are bottom three! We don’t expect top 4 but we want to enjoy good football! I don’t want to watch my team for 25% . Of the match.
Our style is to have a few games looking like world beaters, then a load of relegation form. So we end up mid table and expected to be satisfied as if that's all we are capable of.
I like Moyes, but his time is up with us. I'm sure he'll miss working with the top players we have, but I think championship clubs are his immediate future.
People overlooking that Moyes has lost nearly 50 prem games in 3 seasons
Who are you to tell us who we can have as manager the decision has been made at least a year ago that Moyse must go!
We are the one who pay money to watch entertaining football and Moyse can’t provide that he has no plan when his ten men behind the ball does not work. We don’t want teams to have 70% of the ball.
Jim White is ridiculous. Danny Murphy uses a great example in Bournemouth, but he snaps back "but they aren't finishing 6th or 7th." Well Jim, neither are West Ham. Relegation fight last season, sliding down the table with a terrible defensive record this season. He's either losing his marbles or he's just a terrible journo. You can see his face when Danny doesn't instantly agree with him...
I think White's also a fairy
😮 West Ham had every right to look for a new manager the moment Moyes refused to sign his new contract (probably because being solely responsible for new signings was being taken away).
When I told my employer that I planned to retire in a few months they looked for a successor immediately. I was even asked to spend the last few months training him so what's the big deal with Moyes ?
Bang on right fella. Succession planning is the mark of a well run business.
Jim is forgetting we’re not 6th or 7th, we’re 9th about to be 10th
What is Jim on, a sendoff on his last home game, Moyes is getting sacked!! Not retiring!!!
Check your info as Moyes was going to be moved on at the last season but as they won the Conference cup he stayed. So Sullivan knew he’d be going anyway.
We still hate the stadium!!
9th with poor footie or 12th with great football at home? Id say Danny is right, 12th all day long... but winning something, thats different, and he did win a trophy which will be on thier c.v forever
Listening to Simon’s voice he needs to loosen his turtle neck 😂
Media acting like we are demanding to dominate games with all of the ball and play free flowing attacking football. No, that isn't it. The football under Moyes is SO bad we just want to play like a semi decent footballing team. The bar is low. You don't understand how awful the football really is. We sit on our 18 yard box and then on the rare occasion we get the ball we kick it off the pitch. We do this for 90 minutes then hope Kudus or Bowen can get a lucky break and do something special. I have never seen anything like it.
Why do they keep banging on about "all he's achieved"? He's presided over the destruction of many tens of millions of pounds of player value across a plethora of beyond West Ham-level talent that Sullivan bought for him across five years. Including failing to hold on to Rice who may have stayed IF he'd seen evidence of the talent being accumulated, nurtured and deployed in the quest of winning matches. Jordan 100% would have sacked him for losing the level of player value if he'd gone to the trouble of getting massive talent onboard.
If you put a trombone next to Simon Jordan's backside, it would play you a tune!
Julian Lopotato?
Simon’s in competition with Alan Brazil for the Worst pronunciations award.
Not just style of football. There's another more important word, but I wont share.
Moyes’ issue is when you play boring football then you are basically a results based manager, and we are not getting the results, 16 points in 17 games since Xmas, so imagine watching rubbish football and only winning 16 points in 17 games that is relegation form. Also people seem to forget how close West Ham were to relegation last season
Which Premier League team is going to hire DM?...... The answer will tell you a lot.
we will find out in maybe November when some team is fighting relegation, nobody will employ him at the start of a season, also I think he could end up as Scotland manager as they are happy with just qualifying
Simon Jordan is a mouthpiece at best. Moyes has achieved as a manager. This situation is similar to when Sam Allardyce was sacked at Blackburn. I only hope the Hammers remain a great premiership club.
Last season we were fighting "THE DROP" Jim!
Phillips was bought to replace Rice & it didn’t work
simon jordan turned into phil mitchell quite quickly
Moyes has got one win left in him - against Man City. Do it for Declan.
Not often I agree completely with Simon Jordan, but he is 100% right here
listen as a westham fan sinces 1977 its is the style forget all other talks.
Why is Simon Jordan doing a Tommy Cooper impression?
Danny Murphy gets it. The other two 🤦🏼♂️
Would Simon Jordan have Moyes at Palace? How many top 10 clubs would have Moyes as manager? How many of the 20 clubs in the Premier League next season will be looking at Moyes for manager? Serious question. By this time next season Moyes will not be managing in the Premier League.
Would not wish Moyes on any club.
Good manager, European trophy and kept them out of relegation. Good luck Moyesy.
Guess what - Moyes if working for Talksport covering the Euros.
With his mates
Properly had enough of hearing clueless pundits putting words in the mouth of west ham fans and completely misrepresenting our position. In total, going to a game costs about £100. We're well within our rights to want to be entertained when there. We were fully behind Moyes for 18 months or so, when he was majorly outperforming the backing and resources he was working with. The football has been awful, on the most part, for the last 18 months to 2 years and he's spent just under half a billion in that time. He hasn't developed the youth and has overseen a huge exodus of youth. He doesn't play attractive or attacking football and still shipped 70 goals. Last year we were in a relegation battle for 90% of the time. We are all grateful for the cup run, the 3 seasons of Europe, and the fact he's left the club in a better position than he found it. We can feel grateful for those achievements whilst also wanting him to move in a different direction. The context in which we moved to that stadium can never be forgotten, we were told it was a world class stadium, the seats were just as close as Upton park, the heritage and history of the club would be respected and incorporated and we would be attracting world class talent to consistently challenge for European places and domestic cups. Nearly all of those promises were broken, so forgive us if we're holding our owners to account on them and demanding a level of football we were told we would have in return for our spiritual home. People's bills, mortgages etc. have gone through the roof in the last 18 months, football is an escape for most people, and a huge percentage of their monthly outgoings. Stop telling fans you know what's best for them whilst speaking from your ivory towers. Morons.
Well said

Moyes likes to sit back, not have much of the ball, soak up pressure and hit teams on the break. We have conceded the most goals out of anyone other than the top 3!!! Obviously his style of play doesn’t work. Thank you for the memories last year! But it’s time for a change and I hope we give him a great send off against Luton ⚒️

Will always appreciate the work moyes done at West Ham but the time was right if anything he should have gone out on a high after the win in Prague.
Was the contract even offered? Moyes said so.... But....
You forget spurs have been hit by injuries lost four players for weeks who went to play in the African & Asian Cups, we have played matches with four half backs. We also had long periods between games could get no consistency. Ange will dump a few and we will buy four in the summer.
So these guys disregard lopetegui, a Europa league winner, while appreciating Garry O'Neil and motes, 👏👏👏Sublime punditry

Almost there but still some more research is needed. Good effort today though, keep it up. 7/10.
Moyes would be perfect for Man U.
Sir Jim make it happen!!
It's not the style of play. It's awful tactics. Set up defensive to hit on the counter but allow far to many shots. Don't mind defensive counter attacking football if it works.
Poor substitutions no youth players coming through
Isn't it funny how only now Moyes has lost his job that you lot all of a sudden start seeing the fans' point of view. I won't be listening to his "expert insight" when you give him a job for the boys at the Euros. Who in the world cares what David Moyes thinks about top European international football?
Not worried about relegation , Simon is that a joke?... we were nearly relegated last season!!

As mr Jordan said he didn’t sign his contract so it’s more fool him
Fair play to Murphy, think he gets it White is clueless
Ffsake...more than style or play its been consistency of performance. No one knows what West Ham will take the pitch... if its notna hiding its been mostly lucky/undeserved wins.... Even hard fought evenly matched close loses would have been better than what we've been getting
