1 of my fav eps was when a dude got bullied and brought a gun to the school and Vergil wanted to stop him. I also liked the ep with the 2 kid foster siblings, him seeing his mom in the past, the racist Folley ep, and the "permafrost" ep. Static had some heat in the past. It was "shocking" how down to earth some of his stories were.
Me too, I know why Virgil being a superhero coming from gang life resonates with some many people. Idk why alot of people are upset about this new origin. This was a great approach! To include real world issues (like what comic do all the time) and have it jump start something that becomes more meaningful than just your average ways of getting powers
It’s a biased approach bro. The new writer wanted turned Virgil into moody kid, that struggles to keep his emotions and powers in check after the Big Bang. Which is the complete opposite of how he was in prior to this reboot.

There’s a couple glaring issues with Virgil....he’s not as smart as you think he is in this run. Or as optimistic. - Attacking Hotstreak on impulse? Three TIMES. It means that he acts off of emotion rather than logic. In every fight prior to this he’s never resorted to swinging without thinking two steps ahead of the opponent. - No secret identity. Him having a secret identity helps showcase his creativity and intelligence in concealing it in the most critical of situations. Him using his powers in front of a crowd is not something he’d do in the show or the original comics. The books and show addressed issues but it fit well within the context of the story...It had to have a purpose, and it had to be subtle. I read this the very hour it came out. And I was beyond hyped for it, been following the artist for this new reboot series and this is just too amazing man. The amount of drip my boy static has alone is too amazing
Based off what you said on this new origin compared to the Original the Original is just way better. As far as the protest they could've really added that later on in the comic. Definitely read the original before you get into this new one . There's alot the cartoon took out and there's things it added in. Fr fr Hotstreak is a racist and Definitely called Virg worse things than just an "Oreo". As a black man I can still relate to the "Oreo" thing but that wouldn't set me off to fight. I just feel the original had more substance. On the flipside the art style is nice, so I might give it a read. Its alot to explain
Hmm I feel that. For me, I've stopped trying to compare the two in my head and I see both as good renditions of Static. Idk if you have room for this but I think you check out Darbi, it’s a webtoon. It’s not anime but everyone in the series is a savage both figuratively and literally
I love static Shock. He's one of my favorite black superheroes. He's one of the heroes that I wanted to grow up to be. I wished I could be like him. It sucks that every time Static gets a solo series, something happens. Be honest, do you thing Static is cursed.
Black Mastadonte, are you still doing your honest gaming history gig? If you are, can I request you do a video on characters from "The Evil Within"?
Aye my favorite character static shock I remember watching it and I love it
I read this the very hour it came out. And I was beyond hyped for it, been following the artist for this new reboot series and this is just too amazing man. The amount of drip my boy static has alone is too amazing
Nicholas drivray is a big anime fan
Your twin is back!🤣🤣 bro u really do look just like him 💪💪🏆🥇
Lmao appreciate it bro
Quick question did you have a retainer on?
Yes he was in both
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!
Yo My GUY...you forgot that Static was a freaking TEEN TITAN along side Wonder girl, tim drake, and miss martian!!!
Damn, my boy Virgil hittin that lightskin face lmao
2:50 basically what happened to Sym-bionic titan, thundercats 2011 and generator rex.
Glad my boy is back
hell ya that shit fire no cap i'm ready for the other one to come out
i never really noticed static like that but hey might jus have to read that
i wasn't even alive when the character was made and i know him. If you don't know him that's just crazy
Since the remake is a new take on Static, I'm trying to keep an open mind and that's helping me like it more. I definitely do need to reed more of the original Static comic to see what you mean though.
I used to love this
That fighting scene is straight up in a manga I can't wait get animated
you should try and read the comic on twitch because we need to have more static shock
Keep up the good work.
I think alva was mentioned in the cartoon by the person who owns alva industries
Yeah I remember that episode. That was one the owner's son was trying to kill him I think
Last night I saw a super teen he was black he said "this is for our streets static shock is back!"
This sound awsome to watch!!!!
The only thing I remember Static recently being in was the episode of Death Battle where he fought Miles Morales Spider Man.
Heck yeah glad the best old-time Static Shock that's a rebirth baby
4:36 HUGE REFERENCE I LOVE IT😎😆😆😆😆😂😂😂😂 EQUALITY MATTERS IN MY BOOK THO
i hope you talk more about static
YES
I know that artstyle, who did the art is it my boi nikolasdraperivey
I haven't seen his art for a while but I love it I'm happy he's illustrating static shock
I think I’m going to give this, book a chance
5:29 wow that's new info for me,thx😎
when you explained what oreo was I felt proud because I too am an oreo
