      Yes, UA-cam University. The huge Problem with school's is teachers are not interested in their subject and the kids see this. A "teacher" should start out with WHY this is important to get kids interested, but all america has is babysitters, If I was the teacher we might be looking at turning graphite into diamonds. Is there a way of course, does the teacher know how? Probably not.

    Feldspar isn't something you can make with a formula like a chemical compound. It's a naturally occurring mineral found in the Earth's crust, composed of various elements like silicon, aluminum, and oxygen.

    2:16 - Got a question that might sound silly: Do man-made materials count that occur naturally aswell? e.g. synthetic diamonds.

    Can elements be mineral?
    Diamond a mineral? (Cuz it's carbon based so isn't an organic)
    Also gold is mineral or element, or both?
    Kindly clear my doubts

    • @emeraldgreen5092
      @emeraldgreen5092 4 роки тому

      Some native elements are classified as minerals....Diamond is a good example as you mentioned.

    • @flickerbird
      @flickerbird 2 роки тому

      mineral gold is almost always mixed with silver, platinum and another precious metals, so it's an alloy of multiple metals
      yet native metallic mercury is considered a mineral, even though it's liquid and possibly also containing other elements

  • @davidrumpler5528

    I think #4 needs to be clarified or elaborated on because there are a small number of elements that are considered to be minerals (gold, silver, sulphur, etc.) Being elements, they are by definition not “a specific combination of elements” as stated in #4. Perhaps if you put the word “or” between the two clauses.

    • @davidrumpler5528
      @davidrumpler5528 3 роки тому

      Also, the term “chemical formula”, from what I have been able to find on the internet, seems to apply to molecules and compounds, but not elements.

  • @jabrown
    @jabrown 4 роки тому

    What is considered "normal conditions"?
    Where can I find more information about the way the specific arrangement of atoms gives rise to the mineral's physical properties such as colour, smell, etc.?

    • @melvintaylor9716
      @melvintaylor9716 4 роки тому

      Scientifically speaking standard conditions at seal level (STP = Standard Temperature and Pressure) are T = 25 degrees Celsius and Pressure = 760 mm Hg
