Yes, UA-cam University. The huge Problem with school's is teachers are not interested in their subject and the kids see this. A "teacher" should start out with WHY this is important to get kids interested, but all america has is babysitters, If I was the teacher we might be looking at turning graphite into diamonds. Is there a way of course, does the teacher know how? Probably not.
You just safe my life at College! Thank you so much. Thanks God. I almost drop the class specially now during covid19 2.0 yeah this is 2021 and still happening.
Feldspar isn't something you can make with a formula like a chemical compound. It's a naturally occurring mineral found in the Earth's crust, composed of various elements like silicon, aluminum, and oxygen.
Can elements be mineral? Diamond a mineral? (Cuz it's carbon based so isn't an organic) Also gold is mineral or element, or both? Kindly clear my doubts
mineral gold is almost always mixed with silver, platinum and another precious metals, so it's an alloy of multiple metals yet native metallic mercury is considered a mineral, even though it's liquid and possibly also containing other elements
What is considered "normal conditions"? Where can I find more information about the way the specific arrangement of atoms gives rise to the mineral's physical properties such as colour, smell, etc.?
Scientifically speaking standard conditions at seal level (STP = Standard Temperature and Pressure) are T = 25 degrees Celsius and Pressure = 760 mm Hg
I think #4 needs to be clarified or elaborated on because there are a small number of elements that are considered to be minerals (gold, silver, sulphur, etc.) Being elements, they are by definition not “a specific combination of elements” as stated in #4. Perhaps if you put the word “or” between the two clauses.
for the naturally occurring bit, what about man-made opalite? is that not a mineral? and what about other man-made ones? also what about jet stone? isn’t jet stone fossilized wood? IS JET STONE NOT A MINERAL!? 😭
You're definition of inorganic is incorrect. You are not acknowledging the living God which directly made the minerals which you label as inorganic; thus, inorganic is properly understood as minerals which are the direct result of God speaking the world into existence, as opposed to those minerals which have come into being due to secondary causes.
It should be a requirement that ALL earth science teachers incorporate this guy’s videos into their instruction.
They did LMAO
As a science educator I just want to say that you make EXCELLENT videos.
yummy i love eating rocks
im gonna lick you
@@lolah-to7zz i poo
If your watching this your probably at school. Hang in there!

i have a science quiz tomorrow and i’m going to do great because of the video:)
me editing this 3 weeks later:
i got a 100% :) THANKS!!
This was really cool, even though our geography teacher literally forced us to watch. This is the first time I have actually paid attention in class!
geography it was my science teacher
THEY'RE ROCKS, HANK
Geology isnt covered enough on UA-cam considering how interesting it is!
Yeahh
Ye

Everyone talking about having to watch this in quarantine but the real pain is for us minecrafters when we see this 0:40
Oh, that's just cursed-
was supposed to watch this for school work and I actually enjoyed it
Wow, you're great! You are definitely underrated! I hope you become rich soon!
I hope so too!
@@mikesammartano 😂 Be rich
watching this to study for my elementary science Praxis exam, this video is so helpful! i love how you organized and presented everything :)
when you're forced to watch a video for work during quarantine AND takes notes but the transcript is in DUTCH!!
@Stephanie Miller I don’t trust auto-generated captions, even if they are in english
this is a certified Hank classic.
Thanks for helping me complete my holiday homework!
this is like the best short videos for learning minerals
found this series because i wanted to start a mineral/gem collection so far the information is helping
You just safe my life at College! Thank you so much. Thanks God. I almost drop the class specially now during covid19 2.0 yeah this is 2021 and still happening.
your videos helps me a lot to study during this pandemic! i just subbed to your channel, thanks for making these videos!
This video was really cool. I never found Geography so intresting.
It is geology not geography
Jesus Marie they’re minerals
You get a subscribe. This was a wonderful UA-cam find. Thank You Mister Sammartano!

Mineral is certainly a tricky subject but can be argued as you said. Thanks for the information.
Hank Schrader approves.
I really liked it, and yes, I'm another person that is seen this video because the teacher told me.
GG
LMAOOOO
Same here
Same
Can elements be mineral?
Diamond a mineral? (Cuz it's carbon based so isn't an organic)
Also gold is mineral or element, or both?
Kindly clear my doubts
Some native elements are classified as minerals....Diamond is a good example as you mentioned.
mineral gold is almost always mixed with silver, platinum and another precious metals, so it's an alloy of multiple metals
yet native metallic mercury is considered a mineral, even though it's liquid and possibly also containing other elements
Any reason that the captions are set to Dutch? Is that something on my end?
-Really great video- Amazing video!!
Ok so if I can put minerals on the crafting table, I get a rock right?
thank you so much .It is the best video about minerals .
I have to watch this for my school, and then I have to do my mapping notes -.-
Why did you update this? Is it because you wanted to use different examples for minerals?
Who else is here because of google classroom?
Yes! Me lol
Me!😢
Breaking Bad for me
Me😂
Yur
Thank you so much ✨💙💜🙏
Your content is timeless. Subscribed. This is high quality education
So nobody wanted to just give us the answer and tell me what it is so that I can just answer my homework in google classroom

Isn't diamond made by compressing coal? So why is coal not considered a mineral, but diamond is?
sorry diamond it cubic structure not hexagonal !
Why are the subtitles in Dutch?
When my geo teacher makes us watch this and parents force me to watch me to this and using this for online class for quarantine...... .-.
my brain hurts from the wording in this comment
this is soooo cooollllll thank you !
so calcium in milk is not mineral?
My teacher was say to me for see this video so nice
Thanks person.
got a 92 on the test. thanks bruv
Great video. Greetings from Mexico.
is limestone a mineral
It's a sedimentary rock
2:16 - Got a question that might sound silly: Do man-made materials count that occur naturally aswell? e.g. synthetic diamonds.

Also, the term “chemical formula”, from what I have been able to find on the internet, seems to apply to molecules and compounds, but not elements.
anybody else need this for class in 2021??
You rock get it
Interesting that graphite and diamond are two different minerals even though they are both made of carbon.
im learning earth science and had to watch this
Similar to ice I think it could be argued that solid Mercury is a mineral! :)
I needed this for my class or I will get F. :’(
but a diamond\graphite and chalk were created by living organisms?
I wondered the same thing.
Hmm this vid was actually pretty interesting
ur cc aint working i am forced to stare at the pix by🤓 my science teacher
