Happy Easter! I don’t buy Yankee anymore because I agree that their quality really went downhill. I have a smaller home & couldn’t even smell the last few I bought😒 However, my mom, who passed away 3 years ago, always burned Home for the Holidays at Christmas, so if they ever bring that back, I will purchase it for sentimental reasons. 😊
Yes...Cranberry Chutney was one of my first and favorite Yankee candle loves. Also loved Buttercream (discontinued) , Berry Trifle (discontinued), and Christmas Cookie. Totally agree the scent throw/intensity took a dive over the past 10yrs. I still order Cranberry Chutney and Christmas Cookie during semi-annual sale or other with promotions, but I find I have to burn 2-3 Yankee candles simultaneously to even get close to the fragrancing I desire.....and I have a one bedroom apt.! Cranberry Chutney is really unique and a lot of people love it, so it's a shame Yankee hasn't gotten a clue to address the quality issue. I've decided they just don't care. I'd buy a lot more and more often if they did because I used to burn it year round. Now it's Holiday Season only. This year have found myself loving BBW'S Iced Cranberry Scone. So I'm burning Cranberry Chutney alongside it in a 2:1 combo. That is 2 Cranberry Chutney to 1 Iced Cranberry Scone. I also like Cranberry Chutney alongside BBW'S Tis The Season (2:1 ratio as well). Really hate they discontinued Buttercream. It had become my favorite replacement for the old White Barn French Vanilla. I know you don't really like French Vanilla scents (lol), but I loved that one. For me it had that authentic French Vanilla bakery essence. I could use it to practically gourmand anything. Now both are gone and I'm struggling to find a staple vanilla I love. I love'em authentic. Not that sickening over done fake/artificial note. I can usually burn 1 Christmas Cookie alongside 1 BBW Merry Cookie and get a warm baked fragrance. But in general, Yankee Candles just don't perform for scent throw. Too Bad! They could really do better.
I haven’t purchased from Yankee for quite a while, however I received a couple candles as a gift in scents that I didn’t really like. So, long before the quarantine, I exchanged them and picked up a White Strawberry Bellini. Holy cow is it good. Nice throw. My husband says it’s his favorite candle.
Still buy Yankee here and there but most times at TJMaxx and Marshall’s. If one comes back I love them I’ll order from them. I do still have a ton of Yankees In my collection, def hit or miss. Always root for Yankee bc they’re where my love for candles started. I did buy 2 last fall Ciderhouse and Dried Lavender & oak but I’ve yet to burn them. Yankee is NOTHING Like they once were , 1 large jar Filled the entire house! I’m burning Lilac Blossoms in my kitchen now, I can smell it but no where near what it used to be. I’d say a 4 or 5/10. I still say Yankee has the most beautiful authentic scents. But BBW kicks my ass out the house and I love it!! Tfs Melanie
I remember the 1990s and 2000s were good years for Yankee as far as the scent throw. Miss them and the old label as well. I thought that was Pumpkin Wreath. Love that one too! I want to say that my sister-in-law got me started with Yankee Candle tarts.
I still have so many Yankees (hundreds lol). I have many candle closets. This past year I found a gorgeous huge, very solid heavy bookcase I love and now that displayed many of my Yankees. I have a Scenterpiece warmer in every room of my house. I have to have Autumn Leaves filling the house the first day of school. That scent is New England in fall.
I love so many Yankees! Their Cherry Lemonade is my all-time favorite candle from any candle company. I enjoy the tea lights in Red Apple Wreath. Ciderhouse is a great Yankee as well. Vineyard is my daughter's favorite, and the small jar in that scent is a house filler.
My favorite Yankees are Patchouli, Storm Watch, Garden Sweet Pea, dreamy Summer Nights and Vanilla Sandalwood. I don’t buy often but if they bring those back for SAS I’ll usually grab a few to chop into melts. TFS!
Pumpkin Wreath: The irresistible aroma of fall pumpkins, infused with earthy oakwood, hearty cinnamon bark, and clove, warmly welcomes the season, too. This nature-inspired scent contains apple, resinous spice, and wood notes that play beautifully off the true-to-life pumpkin fragrance.
I agree about the scent, also they don't seem to burn properly. I love the Cherry Ones 🍒. For some reason Im always drawn towards the White ones. The Wedding and powder ones seem to be the best for fragrance. $12......Id be in heaven 💖. If you had bought all of those here you'd have about $400+ worth 😶😮!! Even in our outlet shops they're not much cheaper ☹️. Happy Easter 🐣🐥🐤🌸🌷🌺Xx 🇬🇧
I bought a large jar of Cranberry Chutney this last fall and the throw and strength were pretty good. Not super strong like you mentioned it used to be but I was happy with it. I also bought a Christmas Wreath large jar and it was a total fail. Could not smell it at all. Hard to put it in the candle crock from the beginning. I'm going to try the Scenterpieces because there are many Yankee scents I truly love. Happy Easter!
I’ve recently purchased water garden and coconut beach from yankee. They both performed beautifully and had no issues!! I burned them in a bedroom and they were super strong
No disappointment on this end with Yankee Candle. Some of my new favorites from the past year are Belgian Waffles, Dried Lavender & Oak, Persimmon & Brown Sugar, Holiday Garland. Coconut Beach is throwing like a beast right now! I’ve stopped buying 100% paraffin candles, though, so am sticking to the soy blend in tumblers and trying out Swan Creek as well. Will check out your SC reviews!
Although I haven't completely stopped buying Yankee, the amount I buy has decreased drastically. I've also found that I like burning the medium classic jars far more than the large. I feel like they burn much much cleaner. Even still, none of the newer candles I buy are comparable to the way they used to be made. BUT my favorites of Yankee, which are all pretty decent performers, are Vineyard, Chocolate Layer Cake, Blueberry Scone, and Juicy Watermelon!
My Yankee Candle favorites are pretty basic. Macintosh is a favorite within our family, very easily likeable, but sometimes I’m not in the mood for it. My husband and I absolutely love Chocolate Layer Cake. People always think we’re baking, which could be disappointing haha. I know bakery scents aren’t for everyone, but my husband can’t smell well and he loves it.
I used Yankee when I only could get them at Our Hallmark store. And gift shops. I remember years ago when I saw them selling at Wal-Mart I was shocked and Happy....But quickly noticed it wasn't the same.
I used to love Yankee lavender vanilla but they stopped making that years ago. I picked up a Sea salt & lavender from their elevations range the other day and really like it. Yankee are still really the only candles readily available in the UK, I end up paying an absolute fortune for Bath & Bodyworks on eBay and Facebook as the throw is so much better but I might try a few more YC elevation ones as I really liked it. X
I picked up a sugared ciinnamon apple marked down at walmart for $3.00. So strong! Reminded me of the "old yankee candles". Wish I had picked up a few more.
I got one from a friend for Christmas. Smelled really strong on cold. I started burning it and we couldn't smell it. I'd get a light whiff of I was standing in the right spot, but that was it. It didn't even scent part of the small room it was in. So disappointing.
If you want to try Kringle they have a sale right now that is crazy. Candles are 50% off with an additional 20% with the code intheloop. I got 15 of their 3-wick and 9 of their country candle 2-wick medium for $8.54 a piece including tax.
@@MrKongsMom I just started buying them about a year ago. I'm not impressed with their regular line, although i do buy a few at Christmas for the labels. I have had great success with their Country and 3-wick on strength and throw.
Do you have to be signed up for emails for the intheloop code? Or spend a certain amount? I tried to test it on just once candle and it said I didn't qualify?
If your cranberry chutney candle doesn't perform then ll you can burn the candle for a bit and (I'm a nurse so I use disposable medicine cups) use something like what you'd use to make jello shots or pudding shots. Scoop out some melted wax and dispose of it. Then let the candle burn a little more and throw a wax melts of the same scent into the candle. That would get you the scent.
Happy Easter to you and your family! Like you I don’t really buy their candles anymore- I prefer their wax melts and scent cups. My favorite YC scents are Maple Pancakes (it’s a retired scent) and Catching Rays
My favorite yanked candle is autumn wreath but I actually haven’t bought it for 2 years now. No particular reason I just have too many BBW stocked up and also Aldi candles . They have some good ones too
TFS, I do still burn Yankee but there's not as much selection as there is over in USA, i love anything with lavender i really liked blue satin sashes, lol yes i do have to foil up though.
Hey! Loved your collection video! Love yankee so much! I have just uploaded my own 2020 yankee candle collection video today and its only my 3rd ever video! Stay safe and sending well wishes :)
Root candle is having 25% off right now and free shipping with $25 purchase. I just lit up a yankee summer scoop the other day and it’s throwing like crazy in my 1600 sq foot house!!!😱

They have some questionable business practices in terms of deleting reviews on their website that that are less than flattering and they once threatened to sue the person who moderates a candle group I am in for allowing all reviews of Goose Creek from the members even if they are not flattering. Also, their candles are fairly sooty a lot of times (their wax melts were amazing tho) so overall just a no for me based on their ethics. That being said, I don't care that other people still buy from them. It's just a no for me. They contacted me about about partnering with them and I declined immediately.
@@MrKongsMom wow! How awful. I had no idea. Truly unethical. I just ordered some. About 4 orders so I’m extremely nervous now as I trust your reviews. Yankee sucks! BBW is wonderful, they just burn too fast. I may try Kringle and Homeworx based off your updated suggestions. Thanks for the response!
