Loved this. I think you did yourself an injustice with your doubting of the images you had. Great to see someone try something for the first time and totally with you on the cautiousness.
Honestly, shooting waves is never easy for anybody. But I prefer to shoot single shots, and try to anticipate the high point, and not trust on the camera. (but that's me) That said, you got some beautiful photos! You should learn and practice the Mythbuster's motto--"failure is always an option." ;-) That is a very freeing approach to experimental things. :-D
Jon Glass this being my first time I wanted to make sure I got something. Next time it will be single shots since I now know what to look for lol. Thanks
Loved the video Tammy! I could have done with watching this a couple of weeks ago as I had a go at this in the high winds on Skye and didn't get anything near as good as yours!! It's not as easy as you would think it is!!👍
Erie Ocean today. I think the waves when put in a scene with other objects such as lighthouse are best to show the magnitude of the waves. Also waves hitting at an angle onto rocks also work.
I still can't get my head around the fact that you were photographing large waves on a lake! We in the UK have to go the seaside for that as our lakes are like puddles. My advice is count the waves, you'll notice a pattern, say every 7th wave, and try to concentrate on that but just go there do nothing for 5-10 mins just count the waves. The picture of the lighthouse was my favourite shows the power those waves had
Thank you!! The Great Lakes are HUGE and cover a very large area here. Lake Erie is the shallowest of the lakes and we get the large and violent waves because the shallow depth of the lake makes the waves closer together. I tried counting them like you do with the ocean and that doesn't work with this lake. It just does it's own thing LOL!!
Hello Tammy, I know u r about to get ur Shimoda X30 and it would be really nice to have it compared to the Atlas Athlete. I'm ( French Quebecer )about to turn 60 and for me the most important thing is comfort and light weight. I own Nikon Z6, 24-70mm f2.8 will acquire 70-200mm f2.8...just can't wait to get ur input! :-)
Susy Coutu hey there!! Yes they said it will ship sometime in December since the kickstarter campaign ends on November 29th. I am excited to get mine too and I will do an unboxing and a review on it once I get the chance to use it! Keep your eye out on this channel for more!!
Great shots of the waves, no need to get into the lake to capture its beauty after all.

I loved this. The lighthouse shot really captured the enormity of these waves. Your personality makes watching a pleasure!
Harold Todman aw thank you! I wasn’t sure I liked the lighthouse image and everyone loves it lol. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Love it Tammy, looking forward to your next adventure!
Great stuff, really dramatic! 😊👍🏻
Thank you Dave. Yes it was and I was hoping I captured that.
You did get some great images and I loved the Uncle Grumpy shirt.
Great to try something out of your comfort zone, the positive is you got out and had a great time (although cold) - Enjoyed watching
Hey, I would say you nailed it, you have some fantastic shots for never trying this before.

Scott Tilley Landscape Photography thank you! No it is not easy but oh so much fun.
Hey Tammy, great work! Love your 'rambling'. BTW, there's no such thing as failure: you either succeed or you learn ;-)

I agree but I had no place to safely get them against something other than the break walls downtown. I wanted to get more of an up close view of them.
