Photography is like life - its about the journey, not the destination. Sometimes you get that shot you were looking for and sometimes you walk away with nothing. It is all about perspective.
I am a Macro/Close-up and Nature Photographer from Northeast Ohio in the USA and I love being in the woods. Seeing the world through my lens, incorporating new photography techniques to what I do and then passing those things on to others who have a passion for photography is what I love to do.
I started this You Tube channel to share my journey in taking better landscape images but to also share my love of Macro/Close-up photography with those who would like to learn. It also gives me the chance to share the beauty of where I live in Northeast Ohio and Lake Erie.
So if you would like to learn photography techniques, tips and few little tricks, subscribe to my channel and come along with me on this journey!

Do you prefer the Shimoda Explore or the Atlas Athlete for comfort? I have the Women‘s Explore 25 and I‘m looking for a bigger bag…
Hello, they are both comfortable bags but I found the Shimoda bag more comfortable for my needs. It also fit my gear better as I bought newer things.
wait are we supposed to eat the bag after using it ?
Wonderful Job Filming 👏 , thank you very much
Very cool!!!
This helped me decide between action and explore series. Thank you! Glad to hear the action is breathable too. Looking forward to mine arriving. :)
Thank you for helping me figure out the tripod pocket insert that flips out. 😂
Nice review! Can I ask what the folded length of your tripod is? It seems to fit in your 30 liter well. I'm looking at the 40 liter but carry a Leofoto that's 23.5" closed. I'd go with a 30 liter if my tripod and the large core unit would fit in it, though. Thanks
Oh....actually, I was looking at the Action X40. Might have to rethink this
Great review. You're the only rear viewer that I've noticed also points out the change in the Camelback openings.
13:20 Can you share what reflector you pulled out of that pocket? It's nice and small.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I was so interested in this bag I have looked at every single review I could find on UA-cam and they never really got specific enough as to how this bag would work functionally seemed more like a paid advertisements. I found this review very thorough and informative and the best I’ve seen yet and I so appreciate finding it. It stopped me from making what would’ve been an obvious mistake in my purchase and I’m now gonna look for an alternative backpack. I’m looking forward to future reviews from you. Thank you.
What do you estimate the total weight fully loaded with your gear?
Had them both , theyre tough , just not got the same rear pocket of the temba axis 32l , fits my huge filters in unlike pro tactics , which is shame ,
This is older model , new mod is great
I have lowepro protactic 350 and 450 , temba axis 32 ,, and this 24 , i prefer this 24 over them all , theres room for filters (150x170mm pro filters) im all about heavy pro glass , so i really test my backpacks , the lowepros are ok for specific shoot requirements , (choosing what your doing carefully)
I am snagging one of these today, ive had it in my wishlist for over a year and this was very informative. Ive been looking for a bag to hold my camera, drone, GoPro, and Osmo Pocket 3. Tripods and other accessories seem like it will fit perfectly. Thanks for a great review!
That's an hour from me! great place to kayak. What part of Ohio are you in? Im about 30 minutes south of Canton in a small town called Minerva. Great videos, made up my mind to buy the endurax camera bag from your review! Thanks
A bit late to the party here. I had almost given up on your channel. I am glad you'll be coming back to it... in whatever form. Personally, I am rooting for macro as I would like to learn more about it. That said, any other option would be great as well.
I wish I’ve gotten the 30L instead of a 25L
I'm also thinking about getter the 30L for a little more space even though I'm onlly 5'1"
Thank you so much for this fantastic and very thorough review. This bag looks like a dream! So versitile and finally a woman's fit! I've only come across the F-Stop Kashmir that's specifically made for women's bodies in mind but this looks like it's got more going for it. Loving all the pockets and how you can switch them around or take them off. Very cool indeed!
Nice to see you back making videos. :)
ROFL! "This is the Lowepro Protactic 450 AW camera backpack." It sounded perfectly like "These are the 5.11 Stryke tactical trousers... ." Thanks for this great review. Are they exactly the same width? It looked like the new one was more narrow. But you had all of your gear in the other one. Also, what's the perfect $400 one. I'm literally thinking about buying a 5.11 backpack and modifying it with padding, and installing a side zipper - because the perfect bag doesn't appear to exist. I'd really like one like the 350 AW li because I want it as compact as possible. But it doesn't look like it will hold the Nikon Z9 with a lens - or at least not so I could pull it through the side zipper. So, I'm looking for the 350 but thicker to accommodate aZ9 w 70-200.
Could you do a 25 vers 30 comparison for us Tammy, that is if you decide to go ahead and get the 25 litre version. Thank you.
Thank you, I’m looking to upgrade my Shimoda bag and you’ve sold me on this gem. Your reviews are hands down the most thorough, and entertaining to boot. Love you, your absolutely fabulous.
same sistah. being so short staffed at the hospital i pick up at least 2 extra shifts a week, and its been sooooo hard to get the energy to get out and about. i havent picked up a camera in 2 years at least. hope you get better soon.
I very much enjoyed your review of the bag.
Nice to see you again.

I was just wondering if you had quit or not, enjoy your videos and wish you the best in what you decide to produce, will be watching.
Can't wait to see what will new changes bring..
Oooooooh. Simon Baxter has one of these!!!!!!!
It's a decent bag but the thing I seem to have an issue with is the zipper closure on the right side of the front of the bag... The main access compartment. I've tried to lubricate it with vascoline but it still gives me a hard time trying to open it. I definitely don't want to use a spray lube (WD-40, Etc... ) To get the darn thing to operate properly. WD40 is toxic and creates a mess if one doesn't apply it properly! NTL, the camera bag doesn't provide addiquite storage for large lenses over 70-200mm.
Great review Tammy. Tenba looked great and was of very high quality. I came back to this review a few times after viewing the bag in a store. I went with the ThinkTank Urban Access 15, as it had dual side opening, which suits me more for my travel needs. Also the side opening of the Urban Access was large enough to easily pull out camera or lenses.
Hi Tammy, really miss your videos! Hope you’re healing well and will be back soon
Hello there!! I am doing much better!! Thank you and stay tuned because some new stuff is coming soon!!
Thank you. Going to get one. Great review. Very helpful.
Best bag. ❤️🔥
To @enigmasunshine4554, I am so sorry I accidentally deleted your question on the bag as I was trying to edit my comment. I was sent this bag by Shimoda to test and do a review for them. I own four of their bags and was a tester for the female shoulder straps they have. I recently purchased the Explore V2 35L as an upgrade for my wildlife photography and I love it! Shimoda knows that I always give an honest review....I don't sugar coat anything! LOL Hope that helps. It also states in the video in the beginning about this as well.
Good luck with recovery
Thank you for your video. I was on the fence between the Tenba Axis V2 32L, the MindShift Backlight 36L and PeakDesign Travel 45L. I can at least knock off the Tenba. Thank you.
If you are looking at the Tenba Axis V2, you might want to consider it now. This video is the original version and the new V2 has some different features that are really nice!! I actually bought the Tenba Axis V2 16L and its a great little bag.
@@tammymellertphoto 2 things you pointed out in your video. Laptop storage is in the back. While flying, this is not easily accessible without unzipping the back. 2, the back still unzips with the shoulder straps. These are part of the design of the V2.
@@MyShanaenae The shoulder straps on the V2 are off to the side and attached up on top on the V2 and are not attached to the back panel you open to get to our gear now. The original one in my video, version 1 of the bag, are attached to the back panel. Laptop storage is in the front of the bag now and not in the back panel where your gear is located. Just to clarify that!
We need laptop compartment for travel on an airplane. Dont want to check laptop in luggage.
Definitely and this one has a laptop compartment in the back panel that you open to get to your camera gear. It is very well padded too. Security is a top priority when traveling for sure.
Hi Tammy love the video. I have a question where did you get the Think Tank Photo R U Hot? Where do you keep your wallet and keys.
Thank you! I got that on Amazon believe it or not!
I have so much trouble finding a backpack to fit me. Why are so many camera backpack straps so wide and stiff and uncomfortable! May be fine for a man with broad shoulders, but not us women. I think I'm resigned to ordering a Shimoda, though it's much larger than I require.
I know exactly how you feel on this one. Shimoda makes great bag and their new Explore V2 25L might be a good one for you if you want a small yet comfortable bag. The straps that some with it are redesigned and are really comfortable for women (well at least me). It will fit a mirrorless kit nicely. I own the 30L and the 35L of that bag and love them but I tend to carry everything but the kitchen sink with me. Also, you can try two bag from Tenba that are great and I own them both. First one is the Tenba Shootout 16L DSLR backpack. It is perfect for either a mirrorless or DSLR system with plenty of room for other gear but is very comfortable. It is a small bag as well which makes it nice. I LOVE mine so much I have two of them LOL! The new one that just came out is the Tenba Axis V2 16L. I just got this bag so I haven't had too much time with it but it fits comfortably. I will be doing a review on that one as well. I hope that helps a bit!!
Nice video Tammy, very helpful information. I will definitely check this out with my wife. Definitely a new Subscriber! Keep up the good work! Thanks again
Nice video Tammy, very helpful information. I will definitely check this out with my wife. Definitely a new Subscriber! Keep up the good work! Thanks again
They include a plastic covering that fits over 80% of the bag (outer front and sides including the zippers) this would be the only way it could become waterproof!
It was a beautiful sunset for sure. Nicely captured!
Does the fact it doesn't stand on its own bother you? That's the biggest issue I'm finding with these bags.. Don't want my gear dropping or sloshing around when I'm not wearing it
Nice detailed review! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the awesome bag! Ordered one last week!
Great review, have you traveled with it? Curious if this is too big for an overhead compartment?
Tour video on lowepro 500 aw2 ,you mised main factor. The width height of the bag,as I am concerned for putting in 2 cameras, both with battery grips. Nikon d 500 and d 850. Is the bag high enough to hold it. Try putting in cameras with battery grips Thanks ,
