Ok a few things…. The “subscribe” interruption sound is triggering for people with hearing sensitivities. It goes from his soft voice to a loud ding. Next, are people with the Dark Triad ever able to change? Is there any hope for them to think like normal functioning people? Lastly, if there was no signs of past abuse or neglect from their childhood, could their be any other explanations as to why they are the way they are?
Hello doc, my adult brother is a cold, indifferent, person at times and you can tell his eyes show anger….Sometimes he have rarely mood swings and come up as short tempered out of the blue….If it resembles his trauma he can be short tempered….But mostly he’s cold, calm, indifferent and manipulative. Unless you provoke him in severe way he don’t like then he can be dangerous and he’s calculated. He also lack empathy and feel stress…He’s 32….He don’t hurt people but he don’t care about them either. I remember when a diagnosed narcissist verbal abused him, he didn’t even react to his response he just gave a cold unblinking stare….The narcissist was scared of him for some reason and left him alone….Is it possible that my brother has sociopathy or just a cold person? He don’t get panick easily When there is danger situation….He cares about me and my parents, out this circle he don’t feel nothing, no cry nothing. That diagnosis needs to be done by a trained mental health professional after interviewing a person. I cannot answer that question without meeting the person first.
Could you talk about what to do if you’re in a relationship with a sociopath who is also got some Machiavellian traits. What if you were in a relationship with this person and there’s no way you can get out of it.
Are there Chains? Surely and hopefully they are psychological, social, and financial rather than literal. Your words, “no way you can“ caught my attention. Best wishes and positive there is a way out for you.
I wish there was a test so I could see if I am one of those . I sometimes act impulsively, have has 2 bad relationships with men and I don’t have many friends . People like me and I kind of like them but I can be on my own for long periods of time. Like lock down during covid was great for me .
