IMO the Economy scanner & Backpack Refiner Mk2 are still worthwhile early purchases. The scanner makes finding guaranteed trade stations on planets a doddle, for free landing points even if you don't need to trade, or for searching for Outlaw systems in the galaxy map; the BR 2 is the equivalent of a Medium Refiner, allowing you to make deuterium & similar things that require 2 ingredients on the fly for (eg) emergency ship repairs, tech modules etc. Sadly it doesn't upgrade the Mk1, so you have to waste the resources by destroying the Mk1 before installing the Mk2 :(

Yeah, that works too. I do that going forward, but like to show this method for those who don't want to risk it or people on harder than normal difficulty settings.
The biggest problem with this game is still the lack of content. They keep improving graphics, and adding new ships, and new gear, but there is still no real worth while story. No "side" to fight for, or against. It's still just base building and resource grinding. The game is still a trillion miles wide but only 1 inch deep. It doesn't take that long to realize that all planets are about the same: plants, animals, resources, and a possible hazardous environment. Every space station is the same. Every planet has the same few buildings on it. It's the most amazing framework ever for a game and it just needs a story, factions, a war, etc. Imagine this: (let's use Star Wars as a reference) In the galaxy there is an Empire and a Rebellion. You can join either side or stay neutral. If you join, then you can take part in randomized combat on any planet (or space) against that faction and earn "something" within your faction. You could do missions on planets that could eventually make that planet side with your faction and make it safer for your faction and more dangerous to the other. If you stay neutral, you could take different kinds of missions to smuggle from either side. You could have randomized AI created missions on any planet. NPCs with AI generated speech to actually tell you the mission instead of reading everything. Don't get me wrong. I've spent a few hundred hours in this game and loved it. I just keep wishing there was more reason to play than to "have cooler looking stuff". I re-installed the game with this new update and played for about an hour. It's still the exact same game with slightly upgraded graphics. It could be soooooo much more.
Hmm I was just looking at this game again with all the hype about the big update yadda yadda , but this comment just reinforces why I don't think I'll bother getting NMS . Looks ok but barely any pve to be worthy of spending hours of grinding for what's essentially a decorate your base and upgrade your stuff type game , like so many other lack lustre games
Re: Whispering Eggs They *can* get you underground, it's just unusual. Another way to do this is my Patented Angelita Coward's Way 😁 Nab your larval core and jetpack to the top of the building until the swarm subsides. *They cannot jump.* They can shoot you from afar, but if you're in the center of the building's roof They cannot shoot you from there. Rinse and repeat for all eggs. Once you get the hang of it you can nab 2-4 cores before jetpacking up. A few shield upgrades helps in this endeavor. Also jetpack upgrades. Though neither are *required*
I’m stuck… life support is critically damaged with no oxygen to repair , little to no health and no starship fuel. wtf do I do after considerable progress? I’m stood next to my ship on a great planet with grav balls everywhere and just die when I spawn in with save UPDATE: Managed to get on a space station but soon as I set foot on a planet I die in a nanosecond. Stations aren’t selling ferrite and every pilot coming in hasn’t got any to repair. It’s ridiculous.
Ferrite is everywhere on every planet. You can use ferrite and cobalt to make life support gel or just buy it. You are missing something somewhere. Ifs really hard to get stuck in this game on Normal mode.
@@SurvivalBobGaming I’m on survival… there isn’t anything in the vicinity of my two bases to get ferrite (already been through and mined). If I die I only have a 10 second window to get what I need. The two stations don’t sell gel/no pilot has anything like that on them, but like I said the actual life support module is critically damaged and needs ferrite. All I can really do is land somewhere near ferrite and just die for the 10 second window. I just managed to get fuel for ship with only a second to spare doing this to get off the planet. It’s game breaking letting life support fail like this.

Re: Whispering Eggs
They *can* get you underground, it's just unusual.
Another way to do this is my Patented Angelita Coward's Way 😁
Nab your larval core and jetpack to the top of the building until the swarm subsides.
I have been visiting atleast 20 systems and have not found a single one paradise planet...unfair
It’s really RNG luck. I streamed for 3 hours yesterday just looking at planets and only found 1 paradise planet which kinda sucked.
Reading is hard
You're outro is messed up.
Damn, thanks for listening to the end
@@SurvivalBobGaming lo...i actually enjoyed getting caught back up. i haven't played it since the sentinel's was released. looks great now.
Is the goop edible? why you he keepin the goop? why is dude running around with goop in his pocket?
you can refine it into nanites
You don't have a goop pocket?
I like goop...what can I say. Warm and squishy. Just don't confuse it with the tater tots pocket or it gets weird.
@@dizzymoosic ..but it's hardly worth the time &/or fuel IMO :(
@@snafu2350 Its nice early game but theres better ways to make good nanites
How do you not have horrible stuttering in this game? I've tried all the "fixes" yet my game still stutters like a slide show every time I spin my camera.
🤷🏻♂️good PC I guess. I clicked optimize in my NVIDIA settings and never messed with it.
"Where's the out hole?" 😂
Always know where the out hole is…😂
6 minutes in, one add at the beginning, 2 more shown so far. This is just horrendous,
Zoom out to 110 FOV at least. This zoomed-in BS is annoying.
Still waiting for the Xbox store to make the update live… living through Bob’s videos 🥲
Heard it’s live now
@@SurvivalBobGaming once again coming to the rescue! Great to have you back bob 🥳
