Love this video! Thank you so much! I am a new quilter. I need all the help I can get! I am so addicted to making Dresden’s, but they are all coming out different sizes even though I am cutting them all the same size. The only thing I can figure out is it’s in my seam allowance.🤷♀️ Blessings from Aledo Texas!
I make templates from template plastic or thin colored chopping boards. Perfect for so many patterns. I made templates for the masks of my granddaughters. each size in its own color.
Same here Jackie. I lay my paper pattern on plastic folders. Trace around it. Cut it out. Works perfect. I don't have the money to buy all the things in the video. It would be nice though. I love that spinning mat.
This is the refillable pen for the Easy Press solution. You can purchase a starter kit for this as well as the Seam Align Glue (also used in this video) at amzn.to/2NuWGMF. #affiliatelink
@@Chatterboxquilts thank you kindly for the quick respond. I'm a huge fan of yours. Love all your tutorials, they are very inspirational. I'm planning to to make a memory quilt on behalf of my beloved husband whom just passed away this May due to COVID. I know it won't be very easy. Would appreciate if you can advise on how I could transfer some of his pictures onto the fabric, and what is the best material, and items I'll need to complete a 36 x 36 size quilt. Thank you so very kindly. God bless you in all you do. May the Lord favors you and your family with His Love, and Peace.
Sorry, I didn't see your comment. I'm so sorry that you lost your husband. I hope that your quilting will help with your healing. If you still need information on printing on fabric: The easiest way to transfer photos and images to fabric is to buy some of the pre-treated fabric sheets that you can then run through your photo copier. There are different brands, but I have used Printed Treasures brand and they work well. You can find out more information at thesewingloftblog.com/printable-fabric-sheets/ and watch a video at ua-cam.com/video/_pSpnHUXOJQ/v-deo.html. There are different types of fabric and different instructions on how to use the sheets, so be sure to read the instructions. Also, it's always a good idea to first print out the image on regular paper to be sure that it is all set up the way you want it.
@@Chatterboxquilts thank you so much for your kind response . I love all your tutorials, wishing you a joyous and peaceful holiday season close to your love ones. May the love and peace of Christ Jesus abide in you and family. Wishing many blessings and success as well.
I love your iron. I had one a lot like it. It was a totally dry iron much like we used when I was young. Now I can’t seem to find another one. Can you tell me where you got yours?
Will this work for making squares? I am trying to make catnip toys and need to make a bunch of 3.5in squares. I’m left-handed and cutting is not my thing
Yes, this should work for cutting any type of shape. You just need to be careful not to cut into the template when you are cutting out the shape - of course you could always make another one if you needed to
You may also call this butcher paper. It is matte on one side and shiny on the other. You can usually buy it in grocery stores where the cling wrap and wax paper are.

I actually got it from a quilt shop in British Columbia, Canada. I know that Along Came Quilting in Calgary carries them and they do online sales.

What is freezer paper?

Can’t you just use card stock??
You could do that as well.
Love this, so glad I learned to do this, I’m addictive to Dresdens also, love your videos Kim, I’ve been watching you a long time🌸🌺🌼🌻
