Nate seems like a good dude. Enjoyed the whole series. If I were to say the more technical episodes like the brake and engine rebuilds are my favorites.
Thanks so much for your feedback and your encouragement James! We will do what we can to keep that technical teaching in future videos. You are so right about Nate. He has a lifetime of experience with wrenches and he loves to teach what he's learned. Super humble guy and we are blessed to have him on the team. Thanks for taking the time to write and for following along with the crew!
Hmmmm large bore Caterpillar & Cummins diesel and natural gas engine rebuilding is my passion...😎👍🚩
Glad to hear it! Thanks so much for watching Zeeshan!

Beautiful term
Thanks for watching Keaton :) have a great day brother.
when a crankshaft weighs as much as my entire engine.
I wish all videos were like this. No long boring intro, you don't explain EVERY detail (which my ADD can't handle), you didn't have overwhelming background music. It has been a pleasure to watch this video. Thank you.
Guys came to our school today to talk about getting into the field of working on heavy equipment. Great group of guys and great place.
Jacob, it’s awesome to hear from you! I know our team loved getting the chance to spend the day with you guys. Stay in touch and if there’s anything Newman Tractor can do to support, keep us in mind!!
Damn good video. One of the best I have seen. Quick, simple, to the point no nonsense!!!
Keep em coming!!!
Thanks so much for your encouragement! We appreciate your support! Have a great day!
Newman Tractor I have some general questions. Do you have a FB page that I can contact you through?

Shout out to your videographer, great job! Editing is top notch too
In Downey California the old man journeyman engine builders mechanics were amazing to watch them work their hands were really rough and huge
This is great stuff! Nate's a natural in front of the camera!
Thanks so much for your kind words Joe! We love Nate and we are really looking forward to getting back at it again this season! Have a great day brother!
He needs lots of apprentice to share this knowledge.
imagine the shopping list. we need piston rings valves, some big tools and... vegetable oil.
something is wrong , oil rings are lubricated with the oil in the engine while vegatable oil go sticky under heat and air !!! try do it yourself and you will find that oil turn to sticky shit
Some seals require you do not use petroleum based lubricants for the seals and they require a vegetable oil to lubricate. In the end it’s just lubricating an oring it’s no big deal.
Not to stereotype the type of guys that work on these rigs but the videography and editing is top notch. Holy cow!
Nice to know that there is other people in the world that know how to educate someone on what They’re doing! Absolutely wonderful. Anybody would be lucky to learn and work with this man. First video and wow! I love the energy behind Nate & the expression in what he’s explaining! Reminds me of myself ! Editing is absolutely wonderful as well ! 🎉🎉🎉
This was great production value
Thank you so much, Bruce! We love what we do and are always excited and grateful to share it with the world. Thanks for following along!
Thank you sincerely for stepping through each step on the process at a digestible speed!
So many rebuild videos are time lapse and it is difficult for me to gain knowledge of the process. Some are so fast that the video actually gives me vertigo.
Can't wait for your video on the head!
Thank you so much for the feedback, Michael! I'm so glad it was helpful for you and learnable as well. We're super grateful to be able to do what we do and share it with the world, so thank you for following along!
Are you using brake clean through a pressurized hose? That seems like the most convenient system ever. Great video!
And expensive
Do a tool box tour. Thanks for all the great videos.
Thanks so much for your words of encouragement Luigi! That would be a blast :) We love this stuff and we appreciate you watching! Have a great day!
These are extremely informative and well done videos. Keep up the great work fellas! Wish I would've stumbled upon these sooner.
Awesome Video!🎥
Outstanding workmanship.
Kinda glad I never met anyone who knew his stuff as good as this guy because I would have never had the necessity to learn to do it myself. The irony 🤣
Just found this channel and absolutely Love it.
I’m 17 years old and hope to one day be like you guys
You trying to work on construction machines?
Also 17 but dreams of aviation right now got shut down
Might have to alternate and go with diesel
Looks like a big field and decent pay
But I hope electric doesn’t end up replacing the field...
Misty Diablo keep dreaming dude but do what makes you feel comfortable do what you love, I’ve been doing automotive mechanics for 2 years and still desire to go bigger
Nate! You do your best! Mega respect!
Thanks again for taking the time to watch and spread the love!

I’m really liking these videos. I wish I could be a diesel tech like this for a living. Awesome channel 👍🏻
Its hard work man, it really takes a toll on your body. Its fullfilling though. Just your body going to be hurting. Im sure you can do it if you want to. They are always looking for people willing to work and learn.
@@chrisvill54 my problem is that everywhere around me wants only experienced diesel mechanics. I’m only experienced in European and American passenger cars. I’ve been trying to find someone who will train but it’s tough
@@billisbobagis1687 maybe you need to try small shops. Big dealers will want experience but small shops are always looking for help. Like i said its a hard job and many people don't last. They might not pay you that well in the beginning because you are learning. My neighbor works for a on the road repair shop that and he says that they are always hiring people. He says they hire kids that have never changed a tire because they need as much help as they can get. But most just don't last, its a tough dirty and at times very stressful job when it comes to diagnostics. But if you are young and determined im sure you can be successful at it. Just don't assume it's going to be all nice and good as these videos make it seem to be sometimes.
Keep up to great work on the videos
Thanks so much for your kind words TAT! We love making them and hope to be back at it again soon!

Dang good video. I like that brake cleaner wand. What is it? Where can I get one?
Curious about the high pressure cleaning gun. Is that an air gun hooked up to a solvent?
just good stuff. thanks
i wish things always went this smooth
Awsome video,s you guys make there is alot to know about rebuilding an engine. Have you ever did something wrong and trashed an engine you just rebuilt?
Sometimes when the engine gets grenaded exploded pieces bounce around inside the Piston combustion chamber or explode the head it's hard to identify all the replacement parts
When the engine has components that are in 100 pieces the parts may differ from year to year and end up putting in an incorrect rocker arm or something
great video. not a fan of the use of an impact on internal parts too much due to personal regrets but hey. whatever works
Homemade Cylinder Liner Holder Downers...wow
What is the cleaning fluid you use with the airgun?

400 hp and 10000lbft of torque 😂
That would be 210 rpm, which is about the speed of those big ocean going container ships 😜
Closer to 1500
@@ChaotiX1 400 hp / 10000 lbft x 5252 is 210 rpm, not 1500 rpm.

Caterpillar times all the rings on the piston and inserts them into the liner for you just drop it into the block and connect the rod journal caps
Good job
Thanks Ahmed! Glad you enjoyed it! We appreciate you watching and hope you have a great day!
Might be a dumb question but why can’t you line the ring gap up with the wrist pin?

what are you spraying on the parts , cleaner solvent ?

The most manly channel on YT 🇮🇪
What are you spraying with that gun attached to the air hose ? Thanks
Great question Jonathan! Its a 5 gallon bucket of parts cleaner similar to a brake cleaner. You can use an air spray gun similar to a paint gun. It saves money on big projects like this instead of using rattle cans. Thanks for watching and have a great day!
@@NewmanTractor What model spray gun is that? That thing is awesome!
Hey Michael we can find out the exact model from our tech but you can use any air paint sprayer. You can find a cheap one from harbor tech. Just hook up to air and at some solvent and you've hot yourself an awesome mobile parts cleaner :) thanks for watching and have a great day!
this is nice ,

Thanks, man! Feel free to check in if you have any questions!
I be having that same sanitation gun at work too
With plastiguage you are supposed to put it across the whole diameter of the bearing
The most common is a valve in the head breaks off and then bounces around a thousand times in the combustion chamber blasting pieces of piston into every nook and cranny of the engine
Also the connecting rod may snap and punch a hole through the engine block and you have to junk the block
So good wow good job nice video👍
Thank you, Liezel. We really appreciate the kind words and love to see you following along!!
What do you do with The One Ring?

you should torque srews with a Airpressured driver ... always you use mecanical tools aspeccially for the last degrees ....

Cummins makes a good motor, the way things are going its going to be just Cummins in big machines and Kubota/Yanmars in little ones - Doesn't matter what brand's on the frame or what colors.
Well said Ejay. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time for these kind words. Have a great day brother.
Ok I'm understandably you guys
damn only 5 minutes to do a full engine rebuild! I can totally do that on my Prius
sir how to apply for job
How do they trust those jack stands 😳
So odd how different engines can be. Maybe I just am too easily fascinated, but the engine in my bus, is so over engineered in some things, yet so simple in others. Although the way they want the gaping measured on the rod caps is just insane. Tighten one bolt up (before the TTY begins...apparently by magic since they dont give me that value lol), the measure how much the other end, the unbolted end of the cap cracks open. Measure that gaping maw, and then you know to tigthen more or not. Its so...imprecise to me, yet other things they want machined at .1 thous tolerance. (it aint a Detroit, or Cummins. Its a MAN engine...horizontal 6 with hemi...err not heads but piston bowls lol)
tractor mechanic or diesel mechanic is preferred
All that nice equipment you gotta get poor nate a proper engine stand. Jack stands stink with engines that heavy.
something is wrong , oil rings are lubricated with the oil in the engine while vegatable oil go sticky under heat and air !!!
is that brake kleen out of that gun...jeeeeeeeze
