He's been doing it all since the Spencer Davis Group days when he was the ripe old age of 15 or so. I think he's my age, 75, with a very distinguished musical following. He music is part of the soundtrack to my life.
Couldn't agree with you more, been a BRUMMIE, myself he's a humble man, and never looks for recognition, respected by all true musicians and possibly the most talented out of the bunch, JACK BRUCE, CLAPTON, GINGER BAKER, JEFF BECK, as the man was a fantastic piano player. ONLY MY OWN OPINION, 👍👍👍
2007 Crossroads, what a treat for guitar lovers and music lovers in general. Music we've learned to appreciate. Not the next hottest tune or band for a few yr period. Hard to dispute Winwoods talents and his playing among the greats who've mentioned him as a inspiration.
He’s the guy Hendrix said could hang with him. A true prodigy. Think of how old he was when he fronted for The Spencer Davis Group. Truly under rated musician and vocalist.
you're right man...have you seen him in front of the fireplace doing can't find my way home acoustic? there you can also just see the pure talent. I did however notice he tuned his guitar a full step down for that 'cause maybe his voice is a tiny bit lower 'cause of aging vocal chords or something...
I'm 54 and I have to listen to this at least once a week. My old gaffer Michael judge R.I.P. said that he used to go and see him in Birmingham back in the 60s. And that his blues voice stood out a mile 👍👍👍
I was a driver on the HIGH liFE tour. Steve and his wife Eugenie ate crew meal with us every night. Both diners but with Steve's Brit accent and Euinie's Tenessee accent put animated conversations between the two as very amusing.
You can tell how great Stevie's guitar work was by watching Eric's reaction afterwards when he whipped his guitar strap over his shoulder. I believe Stevie didnt play Dear Mr Fantasy without Eric after that.
I believe you're correct on that. Every vid after on Dr Mr fantasy included Eric. And yeah, that was a pissed off Eric whipping his guitar strap the way he did cuz the audience and band where totally engaged and loving that jam!!!

I'm 68 yrs old, so I started with SW when I was about 9 yrs old (he's only 6 yrs older than me) in the Spence Davis Group, then as a teenager it was Traffic and Blind Faith. I got back to SW in the '80s with Arc of a Diver and Back in the High Life. I keep coming back to Steve Winwood, on e of the best muscians of all time.
Steve Winwood is a rare kind of musician, in a class like very very few. Talented, with a gifted voice and very versatile at different instruments, and most importantly a big soul very low in ego. one of the greatest ever in the world of rock.
He’s definitely not underrated. If he was, he wouldn’t be invited to be play such shows, he’s performed a lot with Eric Clapton, Tom Petty invited him to play a couple of songs with him. Traffic are in the rock and roll hall of fame. He’s sold millions of records over the world
Agreed 100%!!! I’ve watched it so many times I lost count now. I first heard this song at the beginning of Avengers Endgame and I’ve been watching this over and over again since then.
Love his guitar playing. He doesn't blind you with blazing speed, but floors you with feel and tension that builds. He let's the solo breathe. Very underrated player.
Not me. I have 78 on the counter and I remember Steve and Eric (Clapton) end of the sixties with Blind Faith. Famous concert in Hyde Park London with the (now) classic Can't find my way home. But agree, he still gets better. Same for Clapton.
I took some of my waiters & waitresses to see Traffic at an Amphitheater in B'ham, Al. They were young. Had no idea who Traffic was. I think in 85'. They came back told everyone who didn't go that they missed the most amazing music they had ever heard. Great memories!
Steve Winwood has the ability to transport you to places within yourself. He paints a picture for your soul to follow and feel good. I have always loved Steve Winwood's music. It takes me back to a better time, more simple and innocent. Rock On Steve!
Well put Mr Davison ,I couldn’t agree more, your comments really hit home with me, and something that I commented on before I never realized what a great guitarist Steve is until I seen this video🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Folks, this is music history, original artistry, from the most golden era in creative modern music. Cool that it’s being recreated by the original artists. Winwood plays every instrument like a master. And there’s the voice....

God you can see, hear and feel the Clapton influence in those licks. Goosebumps. Overused yes, maybe but no less and definitely a genius. Blind Faith, Traffic, solo. 60’s, 70’sand 80’s. Literally the soundtrack of my life. Legend...

Steve Winwood may as well be the most complete singer/musician of all the rock generation...

Is it just me? ... but this is just so perfect. Everything about it really. Its defines the art. Steve is the master👏👏👏
Mr. Steve Winwood . He may have been born in England but he's still an American treasure !
He’s the guy Hendrix said could hang with him. A true prodigy. Think of how old he was when he fronted for The Spencer Davis Group. Truly under rated musician and vocalist.
Amazing that he was only 14 years old when he was with Spencer Davis
Another good group
Him and Eric Clapton!
Without him the spencer Davis group wouldn’t be remembered

Stevie is cooking. All around one of the best musicians around. Absolutely one of my favorites

SWs voice hasn't changed in 50 years. One of the best vocalists, musician, writer and performers in music.

I'm 71 and these classic reunion videos are simply the best. A ton of talent there.
Please get this version onto the streaming platforms 🙏

two drum kits! Double the fun!!
This is sublime music.
No ego bullshit just a real musician. With him the music comes first. Forget the hair, clothes and make-up. It's the music and that's that.!!!
I have watched this a hundred times, never get sick of it; it is beyond perfect;
Same here, brother!
Indeed Sir. Indeed.
Decades after we screamed and stomped for Blind Faith, Stevie's still taking our breath away with his endless talent.

You lucky bastard! Pure jealousy on my part!

Never ages - either vocally or physically - and a consummate musician and singer…

Is he a nice guy ,do ye know him personally? I don't think so,great musician, songwriter,a d brilliant singer ,let's leave it at that

I agree, and it's no exaggeration, by any means.
I agree totally.
Right on.
A master of his craft, that voice is one of a kind. True talent, true God given talent.
And as some guy said in some other comments, he is so fuckin cool it makes you jealous.
The most under-rated British musician and songwriter of the past 5 decades. Superb wordsmith and musician.
He’s definitely not underrated. If he was, he wouldn’t be invited to be play such shows, he’s performed a lot with Eric Clapton, Tom Petty invited him to play a couple of songs with him. Traffic are in the rock and roll hall of fame. He’s sold millions of records over the world

I truly believe that his voice got better as he got older.
man, i swear right? what a force, he can do the whole band hahah

Stevie M-F-ing Winwood !! The only man that can out shine Slowhand..

What makes this even better is that Steve looked like an accountant on vacation.

@@MrDlatto24 Yes, but so is the first, because he artfully builds the tension to set up the 2nd so that it flies:)

He is great but the band the drummers the backup singers they all add something to this song lets give them all a hand!!
I'm wondering now who taught who Steve or Eric

It brings tears of joy from the heart of the top at a time of uncertainty
