    The Central Atlas Tamazight language, which encompasses various dialects from the Atlas region. It's widely understood by Atlasians across the region, from north to south. The dialects include those of the Znati people in the north, like Saghruchni and Warayni, and those of the Znagi people in the middle and south, such as Asamri, Zayani, Azmuri, Mlali, and Zilali. Central Atlas Tamazight is comprehensible to Riffians in northern Morocco and Chleuhs in southern Morocco. In 2011, it became standardized alongside Shilha and Riffian as part of Standard Moroccan Amazigh. The language is spoken by 4-6 million people, primarily in Morocco, though there are Atlas minorities in western Algeria.
    Tahidoost, also known as "Nawada," is a rhythmic pattern featuring alternating heavy and light beats, starting and ending with the presenter's call of "Ha Wa Ahawa." In Ahidous performances, the bendir (tambourine), called "alun" in Amazigh, is essential. It has a circular wooden frame covered with goat skin and strings made from horsehair or animal intestines. Al-Razza, or "Thashdat" in Amazigh, represents dignity and respect. Taberbaşt are colorful Atlas shoes with silver weights, giving them a glossy look. Abaqas are regional garments similar to the Atlantic shamar, made of wool and silk with shiny mosaics, typically worn at Ahidous dances and weddings. Afkas is a traditional silk belt worn above the waist. In the Middle Atlas, burnouses are woolen cloaks worn over djellabas; heavier ones in winter and lighter ones in summer. Atlantic men may wear two white burnouses or a combination of white and black.

    The Atlas mountains have been a bastion for Amazigh-Berber culture and people for millennia! May such ways stay that way!

    As a taqbaylit native speaker, it is hard for me to understand atlas tamazight because of :
    1/ shifting voyels
    2/ shifting consonnes in some dialects ("aqjun" for "dog" is the taqbaylit word but not "aqzin")
    3/ greater influence of arabic and french in kabyle than atlas tamazight for historical reasons
    4/ words that we don't share ("aksum" means "meat" in taqbaylit but we do not know "tifiyyin")
    If a had to live in Atlas Marocco, it would require me at least two months there to become fluent
    in their langage. I would not start from zero but i would have a lot to learn. Do not leave our berberic tongue for arabic. Stand up proudly for our cultur from Lybia to Marocco. Greetings from France.

    This reminds me of Kalmyk, with all the crazy Schrödinger's clusters of consonants where vowels are actually pronounced between them

      @akay2833 21 день тому +8

      it is definitely closer to semitic languages since it's part of the afroasiatic languages alongside the semitic family

      Sorry but who said it's close to romance languages 💀?? It's an Afro-Asiatic language so it's close to the semitic languages since they belong to the same language family

      It has adopted the sounds ħ and ʕ and some loanwords from Arabic, as it has been in close contact with it for almost 1400 years.
