When Kravchenko told them in Afghanistan that Menendez had moles in the CIA, and then when they found the CIA memo in Nicaragua confirming Kravchenko's claim.
Question: did Hudson actually betrayed mason and woods to save his own family from Menendez? Because according to the dialogue, the CIA is watching his every move.
Yeah,as he said menendez forced him to do that.menendez told him that if he doesn't betray the team he will kill david and mason family.
But it was weird the way he betrayed them.i mean how there was no body next to hudson when he was giving orders or if he was kidnapped while he was giving orders why no body told the team about hudson missing😐looks like CIA and Army don't know how to do their job🗿 bunch of idiots😂😂😂😂
Yeah I guess so. Like sometimes how Hudson didn't respond to Mason and Woods' comms, He doesn't say who is Nexus Target yet until he say right now by the time Woods and Noriega was on the overwatch and Woods shot Mason not knowing it was Mason the whole time, how Hudson ordered Mason and Woods to take Noriega alive instead of killing him, also like how Noriega ask Mason and Woods for a gun and Hudson really allow him to hold a gun, and Hudson forcing Woods to shot him in the head. That really makes sense

Hudson was forced by Raul to give the orders otherwise he'd believe Mason's kid David would die, and I'm sure Hudson would think Mason would completely understand the situation and would want to be killed for his son to live.
Hudson had kids and a family and sacrificed himself to save ungrateful Woods and David.
What Hudson did under such a tense situation was as close to heroic as you can get being in his position.

I loved this mission at its beginning the atmosphere especially and i hated the ending so bad
It's weird watching the reveal without the music.
The music was a huge part of the reveal no cap, it doesn't hit as hard without the music.

Fun fact: while I was a kid, I used to play with the Content control on and I notice when the soldiers come in while you help Noriega and say their lines it’s actually uncensored because it’s background dialogue. Just something cool I noticed
I remember when playing through this game as a kid, I didn't even know there were branching paths. I don't think I heard Hudson say take the headshot. If I did, I probably just thought it was flavor dialogue meant to make things more dramatic. So when I shot Mason in the chest and he lived, I was genuinely surprised.

yeah. i think there's a issue on this game. if this game can kill Noriega. it doesn't matter if there's a sign of Mission Failed. but it's more issue. the developer should update this game to kill Noriega. it will more realistic on this game.

To let mason survive in this mission u should:
1.shoot him in legs.
2. If u messed up choices that game gave u make sure u kill menendez at the end so he doesn't escape prison and kill woods and at the end u will see mason coming to see woods and David.
3.if u did every choices right u don't need to kill menendez.(don't worry with chloe staying alive he will stay at prison.)
This game has so many endings🗿♥️
If u wanna get the best ending just tell me and i will tell u which are the best choices to make🗿👌🏻
Complete all Strike force+save mason+save Karma/chole+kill Harper(in order to get Farid alives)+capture Menendez=Best Ending

After salazar betrays jsoc he ask menendez to not kill his general.
And then u can choose to kill him or not while u playing as menendez.
Woods running to Mason with no music is far better, it feels like a real decision just went horribly wrong.

When I first played this I restarted after shooting mason in the head to see if I could change the outcome, if you shoot the people holding onto mason it fails the mission
If you shoot him in the leg you can save him in the end
they got bulletproof bodies
Shoot him in the knee
It's been a long time but I thought if you shoot mason in the foot he appears again in the future when woods is old in the wheelchair toward the end of the game.

@@blackstartv2No one gives a shit. Choosing one ending to be canon in a later game removes the whole point of branching paths and destroys the illusion of choice and consequences.
When I played this mission, I shot Mason from his head and body like 3 times. But at the end he came back alive :D?
Only possible answer is that you did the mission before hand which at the time he survived due to shot in the leg, so you tried to change the story ending by shooting in head but you forgotten to start a new game
@@AledChungus Nope. I just played the game one time. I think it was all about the hitbox. Because as I see, if you shoot him at the head, he falls back, but if not, he falls differently. So I think blood effect comes out of his head but game thinked it was his body. But I still don't get it. It wasn't from his leg. I shoot him 3 times. How :D???
What happened to Noriega after this mission? Did he retire from his actions, still working working with/for Merendez or work on his own?
well noriega is a real person so you could search on google what he did during the years after lmao
Noriega stopped existing when the cod writers didn’t need him anymore
Turns out he was still captured though I guess he didn’t snitch
Noriega was an IRL dictator and had relations with the colombian cartel. Days after the initial american attack on Panama, Noriega surrendered and was arrested by DEA for drug related charges. He died back in 2017 I think, already of old age and ill.
@@jeanmichael2002, yeah, he actually sued Activision in 2014 for portraying him in Black Ops 2 as a villain. It got dismissed, of course.

Something was always off so I tried shooting Noriega first then tried shooting the feet got lucky I didnt kill him first playthrough

I didnt think it was possible, but this scene is so much more haunting without music
2:27 Thanks for including the line of dialogue where Hudson yells “That is a direct order! 😡” Can’t find it anywhere else on UA-cam. That was my first time hearing it too, 12 years later mind you and I thought it was neato.

Also, when doing the interrogation in "Old Wounds", if you manage to refrain from shooting Krevchenco, You can hear him say his famous like in Woods' head: "He even has people in the CIA... hehehe" when you aim at Mason.

I was about 14 when the game came out and when given the order to shoot I was all for it, then I had a realization, where’s Mason? gave it some thought and decided to shoot the leg and when he fell without a game over I shot the leg again, that was the best choice I could have made and glad I had an epiphany at that moment
Very smart! Also we can notice that the outfit the bagged man wears is completely different from what we see Menendez wearing in the cutscenes that happen in this same mission.
This was probably one of the few missions in COD where I actually felt dread the further I progressed in it.
Everyone speaks how much haunting this scene is without music.
I really don't feel it. It's one of those moments, when music truly hits right in the feels.
Also, I gotta say, original version and Russian dubbing here are different. Here, Woods screams: "MASOOON!" out of heartbreak and despare. In Russian dubbing, he drops an almost whispered: "Mason...", as if getting hit hard by the heroic BSOD. And then Noriega snaps him back with "You fool.".

I happened to live in Panama when this game came out, and it was kind of a big deal that Manuel Noriega, the guy that the US irl couldn't stand so much they invaded the country, was featured in a triple-A title... everyone thought then (and still thinks now) that "cara de piña" (pineapple face, his nickname) was a real piece of shit who murdered his political opponents in broad daylight and even double-crossed the CIA (bad move, ofc)
