- Today we prepared our first traditional Danish meal made from ingredients received from Jan from Denmark. Andrei had so much fun putting the Hot Dogs together and taste them with traditional drink. Check it out and let us know how he did 😉🌭

Where is the Remoulade? 😆
Yep, we forgot. But done today another batch properly. So yummy!
Remoulade was not part of a traditional danish hotdog. But of course. It's your own choice
@@bobaer3885 I’ve always had remoulade in my hotdog
Did you heat the hotdog bread, before eating them ?
@@bobaer3885 remolade is a tradition to Hot Dog
Dominika is right, the bun should be warmed. We usually also put pickles on. Also grilled sursage is good. Anyway, nice video.
Thanks for the tip! And thank you for stopping by!
yuup the dynamic duo, coccio and a Hotdog the right way to eat a Danish hotdog.. GJ
The intensity
The passion
The antici----pation.
This lived up to the promise : food as a window into the hearts and minds of Dominika and Andrei.
"Please sir, may we have some more?"
More to come 😀
Omg! RECIPE: The brown sausages you got, are to be fried on a pan in butter. If you want to make sausages in water, they need to be RED, and first you boil the water, take the POT OFF THE HEAT, put in the RED sausages in the hot water together with half an onion (do not slice it), let them get warm for at least 10 minutes, preferably 15-20 minutes :D You do not eat the half onion, it is only put in the water when it is cold, and boil it with the water to give the sausages a good taste.
WHILE you let the sausages get warm and ready, you make the rest of the ingredients ready. You of course warm up the sausage bread, either on or in a toaster or in the oven. Be careful not to get them burned ;)
Then you put the sausage in a sausage bread and pour ketchup on one of the sides of the sausage, then perhaps sweet and/ or very strong mustard on the other side, and the special Danish 'dressing', remoulade in the middle.
Top with fried onion and/ or cut pieces of fresh onion and sliced, pickled cucumer
Next time you need to try cook the sausages slowly on a pan at low heat. Gives a nice crispy and snappy skin. This is how most Danes prefer their hot dog sausages. Also, you MUST heat those buns! Also, remoulade is mandatory! :D
I love how every country has their own version of Hot Dogs and Hamburger's. Next time try to make an L.A. Hot Dog. (Los Angeles).
Give this to your Mum 😉😉
Danish Cucumber Salad:
1 cucumber, 1 teaspoon of salt, pinch of white pepper, 2-4 tablespoons sugar, 2 table spoons of boiling water, 1 deciliter of plain vinegar.
Dissolve salt, pepper and sugar in the boiling water and add the vinegar.
While it's cooling, slice cucumber very thinly. Poor the vinegar over the cucumbers, leave for 30 minuttes.
Can be served with almost anything...
When I grew up, there was a bowl of it on the table 6 out of 7 days, when the cucumbers were in season.
I never liked it 🤣
Oh that's cool! Thank you for the recipe! All the best!
This is so great to watch ❤❤
This was funny to watch
You need the most important ingredient: Remulade. And also the sausage is usually roasted, and of a very different quality. Otherwise a good job of recreating a danish hotdog!
A classic red sausage hotdog is boiled with vinegar and onion and propably a pork bouillon cube.
There are a few other versions - all of them are pretty much equal in my mind. Try replacing the pickles with "rødkål" - or sweet-pickled red cabbage. It's also a GREAT option. Now replace the sausage with a "pølse i svøb" a fat sausage wrapped in bacon, or a "medister", or a German sausage like a Bratwurst or Frankfurter. It changes the flavor a feel just enough to be unique - and it's all just GREAT! The best Danish BBQ parties have at least 4 different sausages - and steak and pork chops 😀Have you tried a "bøfsandwich" with brown sauce? And what about a "flæskestegs sandwich med rødkål"? Right there you have about 25% of the greatest hits from the Danish kitchen 😀
Love it ❤❤
Que gusto verlos ambos compartiendo su actividades. Saludos desde Monterrey México
It was delicious. Thank you for watching 😍
Sausages are best if you keep the temperature a little lower than boiling and ad some broth powder/cubes.
Noted for the next time! Thanks for this!
If they want to use a pot with water, then the sausages must be red, and made like this: Add half an onion to the cold water, and when it boils, take the pot off the heat, put in the sausages, let them warm up in the water and eat them after they have had at least 10 minutes in the water. Throw out the onion which was only put in to give the sausages a great taste.
The brown sausages you had, should be fried on a pan. Remember to warm up the bread. Everything else was just fine :D Am glad you enjoyed it.
Next time, try Stegt flæsk m persille sauce, i.e. slices of roast pork belly with parsley sauce and new potatoes :D You can easily find a recipe for them online.
Proud dane watching 👏👏👏
Great! Thanks a lot!
lol I live in the US and that’s exactly how I make mine too. Bon appétit cheers.🍻
So good!
Not boiled though, just warm water, classic with vinegar, onion and pork bouillon.
I wish y'all lived here, in the US. I'd have a blast with you as a neighbor
...we would enjoy some hot dogs over the fence, lol
Only... The Danish special sausages is THE thing.... 😂
(And the buns are to be eaten lightly grilled on the side. The sausage is eaten hand held separately. All dipped in ketchup and the spicy mustard - the stickiness from the mustard/ketchup allows the onions to stick when dipped in them)
Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to get Danish sausages in Romania, but all of it was super good! Maybe one day we visit Denmark and try a real thing 🌭😋
@@AndreiDominikaUnboxing I do wish that you'll be able to. There's more to the country - even food wise 😉
@@progperljungman8218 The sausage and bun eaten separately is not a hotdog though, that's a sausage with bread.
@@Masterfighterx True. But that's a relatively modern adaptation (since 40-50 years ago 😅) isn't it? The typical traditional "Danish way" would be more or less according to my description(?)
Don't know if you can get the red sausage, but try it, or just try with the ones you have here and have them in warm (not boiling) water, together with vinegar, onion and some pork bouillon, don't know how much, a recipe will tell you.
I've never seen milk in a can before. Thanks for the small peek into your lives. You two are wonderful! It gives me hope. :-)
Thanks for watching...milk in the can it was first for us as well. But tasted really good!
The chocolate milk is pronounced "CokYo" or "CokJo" .... yes you could spell it with an extra C because yes that's how it's pronounced 😀
The bund should be warm, and we also put Remulade on, so ketchup, mustard and remulade and the all the otter things, but it look very good👍😁
Yes, we made it again the next day properly. It tasted even better.
Hot dogs in Reykjavik, Iceland 🇮🇸 are very good, cooked in beer and served with crispy onions! Mmmmmmmm😋🌭
Uuuu, sounds really delicious! Would not mind to try that 😉
I would love to have that recipe from Iceland please. I always use beer in marinating porkchops and such - but I never knew you can boil your hot-dog in it 🤗
@@chardington3412 I was just a visitor/tourist there a couple of years ago so sadly I don’t know how they do it. Tastes great and the dogs are made from lamb and beef meat, not pork. They have a great “ bite / snap” to them and the crunchy crispy onions are delicious. If you go to Iceland in February, take lots of warm winter clothing!! Also, the beer is very good ( but expensive )!
@@malcshone4409 That sounds so delicious my teeth water. 🥲
I am used to cold and damp weather so no problem there.
You should make friends with a Danish family - and have them make you Xmas dinner with all the fittings. I've tried so many Xmas dinners from other places in the world - and non of them really stack up to ours - except maybe our Scandinavian brothers - however they are fairly alike in many things... Make sure you get both duck and pork roast btw. 😀And don't forget the Risalamande with cherry sauce! And get the good (sorry expensive!) Italian Amarena Fabbri cherry sauce - and not the cheap one... totally worth it! It's one of the best deserts in the world if it's made properly! Still remember me and my sister getting up early the day after Xmas to go raid my grandmothers fridge for leftover Risalamande. Don't think we've ever bonded more over anything else! hahaha
😊❤👍🏼

Deliciosos hot dog
So yummy! 😋🌭
this was funny :D
Steam the buns, then grill them
Superb big fella 👍 Awe the best Fae Glasgow
Greetings from Alba, Romania 😀
@@AndreiDominikaUnboxing forgive my ignorance Dominika I shoulda said hello when I gave the big fella a thumbs up in my last message ..sorry and hello ..keep up the good work of makin people smile and enjoy watchin ye both .. especially the dire straits and Floyd reactions 👍
So Danish hot dogs are boiled. That would be interesting. And of course, Andrei made it entertaining.
Not boiled, just warm water, classic with vinegar, onion and pork bouillon.
You need to try the real thing in Denmark 😎
We are packing 😉
@@AndreiDominikaUnboxing The water the sausages are in gives it another flavour when buying it by a sausage vendor in Denmark 😎. Unless you go for the roasted version.
Where is the remoulade. You need that too.
Yep, we know! We have done more the next day and Remoulade was added!
Remoulade was not used in the hotdogs in the 70'th. It's a later addition. I don't use it. But I don't mind that others do. Just saying
Amigos saludos de Mexico
Deliciosos hot dog
what is your favorite snack?
Yankee bar! And Dominika enjoys pickled cucumbers so much, lol
@@AndreiDominikaUnboxing Yankee bar:) I agree. Love from DK
Hahaha
Try your hot dog with an ice-cold Coke or Beer. That is how they are eaten in the U.S.
Andrei is up to it for sure! 🌭🍻
Its a favorit danish food of mine
next time heat bun and get remulade
We had them again the next day and bun was hot and remulade added. Many thanks :)
That’s baseball food. My city is heavy German so we have bratwurst with peppers and sour kraut on it. You must get to the US you’ll love it.
Oh wow! Sounds delicious! We are packing our bags.
@@AndreiDominikaUnboxing Get an air fryer. It will cook everything to perfection including hotdogs. You’ll swear by it.
Missed the remoulade, but otherwise close enough
Haha, we know! Fixed the mistake the next day!
where's the remoulade?
We forgot! Corrected the next day!
The bun should be hott and you forgot tremulade. (:
All done properly today! Tasted even better 🌭😋
the most important ingredient is not ther.. Remolade.
You forgot the remoulade...
We know...tried with Remoulade the next day!
I could eat three of those 😅 but with a coco cola or Pepsi…not chocolate milk
Indeed it is strange combination, but once you try it does make sense (and it's healthier than pepsi or coke) 😉
@@AndreiDominikaUnboxing yes. But I drink Diet Pepsi caffeine free, so I’m partially healthy 😁 I love hotdogs guys! I noticed tho Andre didn’t put a thin cut into the hotdog (length wise) so that the hotdog will became fatter during the boil
not a danish rød pølser, next.
You two come to Madison, WI, USA...
I will give you a five course meal, French style. I know you are very humble, but it is my wish to spoil you guys as I spoiled my children.
Seated for two in the best area in my kitchen.
Amazing! Your comment melt our hearts! If only...it would be so great to share the meal together! Much love from both of us! 💚
That doesn't concern me. I will bd concern or interested when you eat an American Hot Dog in New York!
Andrei would love to eat an American hot dog one day
Buns should be roasted, Cocio should be refrigerated, sausage should be roasted too…
Noted and corrected the next day.
You have ordinary mustard , but you miss the Sweet mustard
