if people know any good, they wont wish the map maker gets hired by blizzard, not only because of what the company is (we still have to see what microsoft will do for them) but because his talents would be wasted, especially since activision closed off their rts team after the forced disaster that was reforged

My head canon is that the “last guardian, Medivh” placed the guardian there to deter Arthas.
Besides the Lich King, and Mal ganis, he is the only one who knows that the Lich King is luring Arthas to wield frostmourne and become his slave.
The name “The guardian” is telling. The only being that shares this title is Medivh.
The guardian’s last words”: …protecting you from it” shows its intention was not to kill Arthas but deter him from taking frostmourne. A much more aggressive and direct manner than cryptically telling Arthas that he would find death in the frozen north shortly before he purges stratholme.
Of course the frostmourne pedestal is written in the elemental language of Kallimag (stated by Muradin in the cinematic). So it could just be a group of elementals that know the blade is bad news.

My first thought was also Medivh. I also don't think it was a Jailor's minion since they were trying to prevent Arthas from getting it. Perhaps it was a Shadowlands character?
Not sure, but it could belong to the previous victim before Arthas. Since someone placed the sword there, with the warnings. For whatever reason they were unable to destroy the weapon, yet I wonder who placed the sword there. Seeing that Frostmourne was quite far away from the crown of Domination. Elementals could be the ones or maybe one of the aspects. It could also be some Titan character who did this.
Overall I think it would be pretty cool to hear the whole storyline.

my only gripe is them not fixing the pathing
you still have to micro manage units because they like to derp out and run back and forth because it can't figure out which way is shorter or not obstructed
