Wenn alle Uhren gleich aussehen würden, wäre es doch langweilig. Die eine lieben versteckte Bandanstöße, andere die Armbänder an den Anschlaghörnern. Aber Klaus Botta ist sicher auch nicht der Erfinder der Einzeigeruhr, sondern lediglich vielleicht einer der ersten Designer, die dieses Prinzip im 20. Jahrhundert wieder aufgegriffen haben. Das Einzeiger-Prinzip ist ja aus der Frühzeit der Uhren, wo es einst nur einen Zeiger gab. So wurden wohl laut Wikipedia schon im 15. Jahrhundert Schmuckdosen mit Einzeigeruhr ausgestattet. Eine der ersten Taschenuhren mit einem Zeiger wurde wohl schon um 1630 gebaut. Und selbst bei einer in Wikipedia unter "Ein-Zeiger-Uhr" zu sehenden Taschenuhr aus Paris um 1810 gab es schon ein Zifferblatt mit 5-Minuten-Strichen. Also ist selbst das Einzeiger-Uhr-Zifferblatt von Klaus Botta aus meiner Sicht prinzipiell keine Erfindung.

@@PeterPernsteiner thanks again Peter. Yes your translations are very helpful especially to someone like myself whose schoolboy German is very basic and over half a century ago. The translations are also very good and only occasionally challenged by the different quirks in idiom. I’m always interested in the wide range of your videos. It’s as if we share the same interests even if of different degrees of passion. Thanks for your comment. I am very pleased that you appreciate my additional work in preparing sensible subtitles. I'm always amazed at how poorly and incorrectly the automatically generated subtitles on UA-cam work - massive spelling errors, incorrectly put together sentences, misunderstood meaning, ... Since I think that many Germans with hearing impairments are certainly interested in the content of my videos, I think it makes sense that I usually take the time to prepare the German subtitles correctly before publishing new videos. If these are correct and activated, an automatic translation into English works quite well. However, I read it carefully again before activating it, because there are still major translation errors in technical terms from time to time. If that fits, I will also create an English video title and an English description text including chapter headings. It is a bit of a shame, however, that only relatively few viewers in English-speaking countries have discovered my videos - but depending on the video, at least 20 to 30 percent of video views use this service. I still hope that my subtitle service will become much better known so that this additional effort will have a much more positive effect on the development of my number of subscribers and the number of video views.
