Update on the past 2 weeks

- I want to thank each and every one of you for the love, kindness, support, and words of encouragement that you have given to all of us these last couple of weeks. It has definitely been a hard road, but we are all slowly learning how to live our new lives.
Also, I want you to know that we are seeking help on how to cope with what we all went through that day.
I'm just trying to remember all of the good times when the bad parts come flooding into my mind.

My heart breaks for you. I lost my one and only son 5 years ago and the system completely failed us. His attacker got away with murdering my son and only spent 3 days in jail (because it was the weekend and he had to wait to see the judge on Monday and then pay his bail) This truly makes the pain more unbearable. I pray that you guys get justice. Cry all you want and please don’t ever apologize. Sounds like you have an amazing village and those kids are blessed to have you. Take as long as you need to mourn and heal. This community will be here for you. Big hugs😊❤🙏🏼
@Sitasbudgetingjourney I am so so sorry for your loss. And, for the fact that your son did not get any justice. That means that there wasn't closure for you. It happens so often that it's just not fair. Unfortunately, I don't think (at this point) that there will be justice or closure for any of us either. The system definitely needs to be fixed.

I'm so glad you guys have been taking the time to celebrate their lives and spend time with their family and grieve period please do not worry about all your friends here in this community. I'm so sorry for your, and their family 's pain and loss. We love you. Please take the time you need to grieve and celebrate the lives of your friends🧡 . I'm not saying it right, but please know you are loved.

Sending hugs and prayers. Continue to grieve in whatever way is right for you - it is a huge rollercoaster of emotions/experiences. It is hard - nothing makes it less hard. Take the time you need to grieve your way and don't apologise for grieving. Sending hugs.
Thank you! I start to think I'm doing better then, BAM! All of those emotions come back just as if it just happened.
@Lifeoverdebt that is totally the 'normal' process of grief - especially traumatic grief. It is totally a roller coaster or wave of the emotions that you just need to ride out the extent that you can. In a lot of ways - this is the hardest part of grief. It is still as real and as raw as before but there is less to distract you and people often think that you will be okay as the funeral is over. Keep reaching out for support even though it feels at times like you are living in alternate universe to other people and you will resent other people too. Also take whatever grief therapy is offered or available. A therapist is great but you do need a specialist grief therapist if you can.

I’m so sorry, I know it’s hard and you take your time grieving. There’s no need to apologize. My son Sean is still being kept paralyzed and sleeping in order to heal. One step forward and 2 steps back is what we’re dealing with. Love you 💜💜🙏🙏🙏 he was on a regular bike and a pickup hir him.

The pain in your voice is heartbreaking. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I’m sorry for the loss your friend’s children are suffering. Losing one parent is hard, I can’t imagine losing both at such a young age. I’m sorry for the loss of the man who spent good day honoring your friend. I’ll keep all of y’all in my prayers.

I did have a good birthday. My friends made it so special. And Jim and Tim both surprised me at dinner Friday night. They decided to leave on Saturday instead so they wouldn't miss my birthday.

I hope they have insomnia for the rest of their lives and every time they close their eyes they relive the nightmare theyve caused all of u. Please dont apologize for being upset, your feelings are valid and we care about you and understand!

Even though it was such a sad reason we were riding that day, it was such a beautiful and amazing experience. I know that I will never see something like that again (and I never hope to).
