When I was young, my parents took me to an airshow, I don't remember where or how long ago, but the Blue Angels were there. They did their routine around the beginning of the show, landed and then were doing Q&A while other preforms were flying around. I was just tall enough to peek over the 3 feet high wall and see the beautiful blue jets. My mom was talking to my brother few feet away and my dad went off to bring the car around (huge event so we had to park far and he hates it when we complain about the walk). The 6 and 7 pilots were chatting to each other and only chiming into the Q&A when someone was asking them direct questions. One of them noticed me and walked up, ask me some questions. I think he thought I was lost or separated from my parents, the place was clearing out. I started asking him questions like "How fast do you go?" "Is it hot inside the jet?" "Do you have to wash the jets after the show or is there a jet car wash?" Yeah, I vividly remember that question. He and the other pilot laughed than just picked me up over the little wall, took me over to #6, helped me up the ladder and sat me in the pilot seat. Everything was off, it had that smell of metal, cloth and oil. The surface of everything was hot to the touch. At some point, the helmet was put on my head, comically too big with the visor covering everything but my chin. It didn't matter, I loved it. And I looked up at the sky, completely clear and thought "So that's why they call them Blue Angels" I wish I could go back to whoever was #6's pilot and give him an appropriate heartfelt thank you.

@@jstan022 I imagine so. So many overused terms flying around today, but this truly is one of those "once in a lifetime" experiences. Thank you for sharing it.
John Davis it probably costs the taxpayer/military several thousand dollars to make this flight but the person in the back seat didn’t pay for this flight. I doubt there was even an application fee. If you read the description he actually talks about how he had to try 3 years in a row to get this ride.
Thank you for not adding crappy music

What an incredible experience! Great vid!
Angels turn a grown man into a 5 year old starry eyed kid. I love these birds. I totally got lost in the video.
N English it’s mind blowing the entire time. Very surreal
@@jstan022 I imagine so. So many overused terms flying around today, but this truly is one of those "once in a lifetime" experiences. Thank you for sharing it.
N English I appreciate it! I wanted to share as much as I could so people could dive in and enjoy. I am very thankful
I love this guys voice.
He handled that like a fucking champion lol good on ya man, a lot of people can't handle commerical jet turbulence
Thanks man!! Roller coasters will never be the same! Haha
Awesome ! Nice job it’s on my bucket list
This looks so fun
Absolutely Amazing!!
pretty sure pilot seven is the dude that does most of these flights. probably because hes the most polite haha
he was switched to #6
VidGameDunk oh true fair enough
Lol, buddy is doing his breathing while pulling 6 G's and the pilot is casually talking to him like it's nothing!!!
Craig Burney I think the pilot wears a compression suit
@@lazystef74 They definitely both do lol, he'd G-lock so fast without it
@@beargoesrawr5783 BAs don't wear compression suits :)
You can hear the pilot doing breathing through the comms, also he is experienced, trained, and likely wearing a G-Suit.
I would like to know how much that cost to do?
Not sure about cost but they do that for a lot of schools. He was a principle. When I was in high school they did it for my football coach.
I've heard up to 10.000+ USD.
Well sign me twice. Lol
John Davis it probably costs the taxpayer/military several thousand dollars to make this flight but the person in the back seat didn’t pay for this flight. I doubt there was even an application fee. If you read the description he actually talks about how he had to try 3 years in a row to get this ride.
How does one get to come across a ride along?
How did you get allowed to do this? Asking because I'm interested in being a fighter pilot
First you might wanna join the Air Force
Love it!!! Thanks for sharing!!! That would be so cool to do.
Bob Earl thanks!! I am very thankful and it was definitely a crazy ride!
This is my ultimate dream! How do I catch a ride? I'll do anything for this experience!
Ryan Davis same
Money
A few grand. Worth it
It's on my to do list! Awesome!
Marie Nebout the experience is totally worth whatever you have to do to get into a jet.
