Thanks for posting. I can't stand that gritty waxy taste grapes have. I don't remember them tasting so waxy. In the past 10 years it seems to have gotten worse and worse. I just stopped buying grapes altogether because I couldn't stand it anymore. Definitely gonna try all three methods to see which I prefer.

not only this, but grapes started to be ridiculously expensive.
I remember, 10 years ago it was like 2x cheaper.
I've reduced it to minimum. was eating it every week at least 2 times , during season (september - november). I've eaten about 5-7 kg per year.
Now I eating it once per month, so about 3 servings per year. (as september - november are 3 months)
I eat about 500grams of grapes , so x3, about 1,5kg per year now.

Don't these methods with salt and all leave a weird taste on the grapes? I don't want salty grapes...

This would have been more helpful to display each step longer that one or two seconds, I had to go back and constantly pause video to read everything displayed.Good information though.

Yes. It was too quick. I had to rewind about 20 times during the video.
But thanks for the video, it is useful.
I want a bigger picture. What is the proof that these methods work?
Can you show where sulphur dioxide sits on a grape?
Can you show before and after shots with a microscope because I want to know what is working.
I don’t know. This comment is sincere. I’m not playing games at all. I’m sensitive to chemicals. I hate having this stinging tongue when I eat grapes!!!

Today when doing online shopping, I ordered cotton candy grapes which due to patents cannot be sprayed; my substitution was organic, however the store took it upon themselves to substitute regular grapes! Boy, I was pissed off royal. I went to an environmental site and they stated a vinegar bath soaked for 30 mins removes 98% of pesticides, followed closely by baking soda. There was no mention of turmeric, therefore, I would not recommend at all..(it is also more expensive as spices generally are!). So although I recommend in general to at least get nongmos like cotton candy grapes and organics, occasionally the vinegar method may suffice. I would not do it as a rule though if you can. I complained to the store who told me to keep the grapes and refunded me. Always complain if this happens as it will keep these grocery stores on top as far as their online shoppers. Shame on these big $$ stores who do this though.

@@IMeMineWho im confused about what you're saying ? Are you saying the best way to wash them is to soak in vingegar for 30 minutes and then soak in baking soda ?

@@porshiahinds6408 Both baking soda as well as vinegar get rid of a lot of pesticides. I used both but some use only 1 method. My point was that this online store ignored my paying for organics and delivered me regular grapes and that consumers should doublecheck receipts to be sure those stores deliver the correct items. Try either type of decontaminating fruit or both. Cheers.
