I have a 2006 A3 3.2L Quattro S-Line with 161,000 miles on it. Bought it 9 years ago with 60k miles on it and its been my daily driver since. Just had the intake manifold walnut blasted and it's driving like butter. Fun car to drive and has great features and feel to it even if it doesn't get that great of gas mileage
unremarkable outside? Ok, I have the exact same car but with 1.6 (lol) but the look and quality of it is the one thing that keeps me sticking to it. It looks sooooo much better than 90% of todays cars. Many people don't believe me when I say that may Audi is 2003.
The point about it being unremarkable is that the 3.2 V6 doesn't look significantly different from the 1.6, rather than how it is compared to the rest of traffic. It doesn't have any of the flared arches and spoilers of say a Honda Civic Type R or Ford Focus RS. It is what we would call a Q car
Thanks for the review 👍 This car is my daily driver in Sportback guise, though. The ride is firm but the drivetrain is well-sorted, especially with the DSG gearbox 👌 And the VR6 makes such a good noise 🔥 They are quite rare now (but still a bargain compared to the Golf R32 of this era) and may become a collector’s car because of the small car / big engine narrative 🔥
Same here, I'm still happily driving a 2005 DSG Sportback that I bought when it was 18 months old for £22k which was a lot in 2007... It destroys front tyres (but that's maybe the way I drive) and is impossible to get anything like decent fuel economy (unless you're on the motorway a lot and I'm not). I'm on only 53k miles now (so the fuel econ is less of a problem, I'm in London so it's usually easier not to drive but it is ULEZ compliant) and have had very little go wrong with it. I've had it serviced occasionally but not on schedule and I did have the DSG serviced about 6 months ago. I've had new pads and disks front and back, front wheel bearings and... that's it. Lol at not being able to set off smoothly in the video though, I can and do, most of the time unless I'm intentionally speeding off. The Officially Gassed video of the 0-60 and quarter mile time for an unmodified manual from 2004 suggest they're a bit quicker and more powerful than Audi claim too. He hit 5.64 to 60 and a 14.23 quarter mile and claimed it hit 260 bhp on a dyno :)
Great job, and great channel, thank you very much guys! It could be possible for next driving videos with manual cars to fix a camera on the pedalbox to film your footwork please? :)
@@BuckleUpShow Haha dude, it's to appreciate the work with the pedals (heel toe for example) because a car is also driven with the feet and each driver has his own technique. ;)
Lovely car! I’d gladly own one as a stable mate for my other VR6 car, a MK4 GTI GLX. A3’s with the 3.2 are very rare here in Canada and were pretty much only available for 2006-2008 years and solely in top range 5 door DSG guise.
"Ha, looks like the old tradex car park in Beeston" I said to myself before you mentioned Nottingham... then I realised that's exactly where you are lmao
This is my regular car (with manual gearbox), I love it. In fact, when I travel to other countries and I have to rent a modern car, it brings tears to my eyes. The fuel consumption is really not exaggerated if your trips are mostly on the highway, being between 8 and 10l/100km (29.4MPG). Over time, I have found that if I drive "happily" with smaller cars, the fuel consumption is not so different.

As long as the timing chain is okay these engines are really reliable!
I just love this car design, the first and pre Face-lift second gen are the most beautiful A3s ever made.
Thanks for watching

Nice video mate, i like how you go in depth a lot more than just "car good make nice sound"
Thanks for watching

Love it mate, good work
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed 👍
MPG is low, but GPG (grins per gallon), and SPM (smiles per mile) are high:)
All the best cars are!

You've gotta pay if you want to see foot stuff 😉

If that seat is the same as my GTI you just need to push down on the back once it’s tilted and you can slide the seat forward.
Thanks for watching
I have one with 240 000km and it still gose hard out. One this is it normal for the dsg trans to not be smooth from takeoff
Thanks for watching!
Best review ever !

They aren't particularly common here in the UK either - most A3s from this era have either got a 1.8 turbo petrol or a 2.0 turbo diesel 😂
It sucks there are so few of them listed for sale : (
It’s a rare beast

The filming location for this review may or may not have been the aforementioned top secret location!
There is a difference between this and normal a3 sport ?
A3 vr6 sport is just a a3 3 door, the manual(247-250bhp) has more power than DSG (230-250 250 2009-2012)
What Doug said
I get 28mpg from the manual (2004 a3 vr6 250bhp)
Good for you 👍
Nice car bro
It is, and could be used as a daily if you weren't too concerned about the fuel bills 😁

gas mileage on city?
@@pabloballonpiconz between 12l/100km (19.6MPG) and 14l/100km (16.8MPG)
Jasper is not capable of driving any car for maximum fuel economy
the only thing dull on this video is the presenter, the Audi is a cool car
80k people would say otherwise, but thanks for watching.
Boring pratt
But tell us what you really think, Kevin.
Kevin if you got nothing nice to say maybe keep your mouth shut
