2000 Dodge Dakota Throttle Position Sensor

This video shows how to replace the throttle position sensor. My rpm's were jumping up and down for no apparent reason. This was both while idling and while cruising at a constant speed on flat ground. My rpm's jumped from about 1500 to 3000 and back while cruising at about 60 mph. At first, I thought the automatic transmission was shifting gears, but it was the sensor which had some of the teeth broken on it's internal gears. I figured out that it was the sensor when my check engine light came on. You can get the check engine light code read at most auto part stores or buy a reader. I used a bluetooth reader that connects with my cell phone. I got the reader for under $10.
