Absolute gentleman and a sportsman for people to look up too. It was disgraceful the flak Casey copped during and after his racing career. Many of us have absolutely no idea how debilitating chronic fatigue and other mental illnesses can be. Mate you've earned everything thats good in your life. And thank you for showing the world again who Australia is and what we can deliver.
Exactly. You'll find the people who gave him flak were fans of a certain rider (we all know who) and these people weren't motorcycle racing fans, they were fans of one rider.
I agree with what you've said regarding to Casey, but I'd like to make it clear that chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is NOT a mental illness. It's a multi-system disease, often post-viral (like longcovid), with neurological, immunological, autonomic, and energy metabolism dysfunction causing symptoms far beyond extreme fatigue. In severe cases it will leave you bedridden for the rest of your life. Sadly, research into the disease has been highly underfunded and many psychologists have tried to label it as psychosomatic in order to 'treat' them with therapies such as CBT and GET. These therapies are now known to be harmful for ME/CFS patients and have been rejected by major medical research organizations such as the NIH and NHS.
Wow , what a guy, truly humble considering what he has achieved. So nice to here a superstar talk so honestly. Obviously we all think he retired too early but now we understand.
Such a pity Stoners career was cut short, he had some epic battles with Rossi! I share his struggle with anxiety, it has afflicted me most of my life and is a thief of time and energy.
Love his commitment for 2 stroke bikes. Everybody who ever was riding them knows about what he is saying. It is not only the speed, there is something magic about 2 stroke engines, that give you this special racing feeling.
I will never forget the joy of watching Casey win the motogp title back in 2007. The fact that I had €100 on him to win at 25/1 increased my joy substantially. Thanks Casey, absolute legend.
I own 5 bikes that are all 2 stroke small capacity engines. I absolutely love 4 strokes as well, but for small bikes up to 250 and 300cc, there's absolutely no replacement.
Casey, what a legend, my favourite rider of all time. Pity he had to retire so early in his career, would of loved to see the Stoner/Marquez battles, I love Marc too but I don't think Marc would of won as many championships if Casey was around.
A great interview with a truly great champion. To watch Casey at his best was always very special. I'd love to see him on one of his 500s riding flat track but let's see him back to fulll health first.
Firstly, thank you MCN for posting this interview. Casey Stoner is an extremely gifted motorcycle racer. A 'gifted' person is in a different league to a "talented" person, where there could be 1,000 talented people for every 1 gifted one. In my opinion, he took racing to the next level, with his elbow on the ground and spinning out the back wheel to defy the laws of science with his lean angles. As far as I'm aware, the last person before Casey to make that kind of impact through innovation, was Jarno Saarinen, the Finish rider from the early 1970's, being the first rider with his knee on the ground, (although this was made famous by the legendary Kenny Roberts). The respect I have for Casey's parents, who moved to the UK with little in the line of budget, due to their belief in their son, is remarkable, and a testimony to them as a family unit. Also, Casey was all about racing, and not comfortable with the circus that surrounds notoriety, which so many other riders with a lesser ability thrived on, they wanted to be famous more than anything, regardless of who they stab in the back along the journey. I strongly believe that if it weren't an ego and public popularity competition, with the likes of a few riders from Italy and Spain, and health issues, Stoner would have won 10 world titles. Also, if you think about it, Marc Marquez, whom btw, I think is the 2nd most "gifted' rider in history, quite literally was passed the baton by Casey. He took over the bike that Casey had set up, and took his unique riding style, and went on to be the genius that he is today. I'm not taking anything away from Marc, he fully deserves his success, but don't you think he owes a nod to Casey as his number one inspiration in terms of riding style? And lastly may I say, I'm a huge fan of Marc as well, but as a person, I think Casey is more of a legend than most given his level of achievement, he's got the "down to earth" level of a road racer from the Isle of Man or The Skerries 100. Thank you for reading this, and I hope you have enjoyed my humble point of view. Richie
Great guy ! He's the kind of neighbour you'd like to have. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and yes ! At 68, I still LOVE 2-strokes ! Respect. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
Always disappointing to read the smartarse negative comments, but social media enables the morons as well as normal people. Nice interview of a nice bloke. From my limited interaction with Casey, he is as normal and nice as he is in this interview. Glad he is doing better.
Read his book and it gives a great insight to a great guy and what goes on behind the scenes we don't see.Casey would have shown MM93 the way and he would not have won 8 moto gp championships
Casey Stoner is a very wise man! I like it, when he is thinking carefully, before answering difficult questions, like "what is the one law you would set". "Common sense law" is something I agree for 100%. This is the best answer for making this world a better place.
Great to see Casey looking so well. Wish him the best for his recovery. And don't forget about that two-stroke smell Casey , nothing else in the world smells like it, smells like victory ;-)
Casey is a _real_ racer. Up there with Gardner, Rayney, Doohan, Agostini, Hailwood, etc. Basically he's a "give him a bike, any bike, and he has the ability to win". He's not a "if it ain't perfect, I can't do anything with that" rider like Rossi, Lorenzo, etc. A true legend.
One of the greatest moto gp riders ever . How he tamed that ducati is a testament to his amazing skill and hard work. Disease free would have won many more world titles #27
just can't believe how chilled Casey looks in this interview and yet he says that anxiety is one big problem for him. Never judge a book by its cover. Great humble rider and man! Wish you could have continue for a bit longer in MotoGP
Refreshing to hear how open Casey is, when it comes to talk about his health problems. Absolutely agree, you need to ride with an element of fear. If i could add one thing only, and that your head needs to be in a good space. If not, stay off your ride. There's always tomorrow.
I have met Casey and he is such a humble deep thinking person as this short interview shows. He is level headed, logical, realistic, humble. And may I say Casey but you are the most naturally talented GP rider I have ever seen and you are a true gift to this planet courtesy from the gods of speed! 🙏
Stoner, an extremely talented moto GP rider. A joy watching him compete when he was racing. Smooth and precise riding style he had! Nice to hear he rides for enjoyment.
Love casey, last guy i followed in motogp. Lucky enought to see him at ducati world weekend a few years back. Did order his nolan carbon ltd helmet this year . The uk importer was very kind and not uk model did import one.

Casey is a true legend so very underestimated and a quality bloke.
There was a time everyone said the Ducati was unrideable. Casey won the championship with it.
I don't believe anyone underestimated him after that.
My thoughts ,he was the only one who could handle it
They say Rossi was the GOAT,
I think it was Stoner, the real GOAT
100%. He makes Australia proud
Agreed u just have to see his rivalry with Rossi, class!💯👌👌
Casey is a gentleman champ.
Humble, honest, capable, smart, genuine.

I also struggle with anxiety and it is a big tiring battle every day.
Cbd oil, tryptophan, exercise and quality sleep!
Casey is a Legend, truly humble and such a likeable guy, just a pity he had to retire to soon but totally respect his decision.
SO AWESOME to see Casey and listen to him in this interview. He looked totally relaxed and seemed happy sharing with Dan from MCN.
Casey was the best..... a pure artist on a race bike.... and by all reports a helluva nice bloke too.
Legend and all-round good guy that had to leave our sport all too soon. Great to see him around in the socials and events these days. Respect.
Love his commitment for 2 stroke bikes. Everybody who ever was riding them knows about what he is saying. It is not only the speed, there is something magic about 2 stroke engines, that give you this special racing feeling.
A legend. Casey is one of the all time greats
What a humble gentleman!
Huge respect, sir!
Not only the best rider of his generation but a sage as well, what a geezer
Diamond Geezer
Nice to see such honesty and if Ben Spies says Stoner's the most talented MotoGP rider ever, well, I believe him.
Ben is the biggest crybaby in the history of 2 wheels racing

Very few Aussie sportsmen are humble
Hero. Would love to know how many titles he’d have won had his health not been a problem. Seems like a really nice guy 👍🏻 great video
A true legand, watched him race while riding my gsxr 750, wishing i had his skills. So humble, just like Mick Doohan.
I think I watch every Casey video that comes across my timeline. Absolute legend and seems like a great guy.
He is a legend racer for all his life. Thank you Casey Stoner for inspiring us to be on the bike.
Knowing that Stoner has bought my same bike makes me kinda happy:) Go Tm Racing!

That was great!! 2 strokes for life Casey!!
Casey is a gentleman and probably still fastest Ducati rider
Casey is a fantastic ambassador for bike racing... he along with David Jefferies are the greatest natural talents I have ever witnessed in a bike..
David Jefferies overtook me on the TT training week when I was a Newcomer. I was blown away by his raw speed. Unfortunately this was 2003....
Go Casey Stoner you will not be forgotten for your moto GP success at such a young age.
Fantastic to hear you are a 2 stroke dirtbike nut
A lot of respect for Casey after coming over to Britain and roughing it out with very little 👍
Really wish we could has seen Casey's full riding potential....given the years lost to health issues. Such a humble guy.
Very humble guy salute to you mate wish you longer life and prosperity Casey stoner

This was a great interview. Absolutely bonkers questions but really fun to watch. Cheers.
An Australian living legend. Well done mate, thanks for making us proud.
Couldn't agree more but as he would be seen by the majority as an evil bikie, he would never be considered so, same goes for Mick Doohan.
Perhaps the most naturally talented rider of all time !
Sage advice and quality answers from this young whippersnapper!

Enjoyed this, thanks! Nice guy.
Casey Stoner, The gentleman rider with the bike's electronic CPU within his right wirst...🏍️💪🏻🇦🇺
What a great true statement ❤❤❤
Fantastic interview. Good questions.
Also love the two strokes, great interview. Those riding only diesels have no idea what they are missing.
Good questions, good answers. Funny, the only two GP tracks I’ve been to are Phillip Island (being Australia born) and Brno (having lived in Saxony).
One question I would have liked is: Which of the current riders do you like, and which aspects of their riding. Ahh well
Missed him in MotoGP. One of the greats
Always a great interview with Casey ❤
Nice to see cases stoner again a real ossie triumph
We miss ya here in the states bro...take care of yourself🤙😎🤙

I hope Casey knows how inspirational it is for other people with anxiety to hear his story. It doesn't have to stop us
As a Rossi superfan, there's no doubt in my mind Stoner was his best rival. He could've been a missile riding the 500cc
Stoner, an extremely talented moto GP rider. A joy watching him compete when he was racing. Smooth and precise riding style he had! Nice to hear he rides for enjoyment.
Go the young Stoner, what a champion 🏆
we love casey he was fab to watch on a bike
Awesome!
This is the only guy who can say he has dinner with Agostini last night, and not sound like he is name dropping. Both legends.
A humble legend. A rare commodity and one that will be treated favourably by history.
I don’t know if I’m more jealous of his hair or his talent to pilot a bike.
Casey fenomenal Stoner🤘
Worlds number 1 GP rider🏁
Crutchlow, Dean Harrison, McGuenniss, Binder
proper answer to what irritates you the most would be 'Valentino Rossi'. Stoner is definitely one of the best, absolute legend.
@someusername1921 Rossi iritated Stoner because Stoner always aspired to be as good as Rossi, Which he never achieved being the tosser that he is.
Harley rider , says it all mate....what have you ever achieved in life...your arrogance tells us all...show some respect youoldfart@@MrHarleyoldfart
Casey's cool!. Has his feet on the ground, from many experiences, and seems very respectful. Incredible what he achieved given his anxiety challenges
Love casey, last guy i followed in motogp. Lucky enought to see him at ducati world weekend a few years back. Did order his nolan carbon ltd helmet this year . The uk importer was very kind and not uk model did import one.
One of the best interviews I've ever heard ! A lot to learn as a rider here.
Amazing interview, I would love to see something like this with Mike Dohan as well
