  • In one the barns there is a collection of old Fiat 124 Spiders. Most of the cars here look very solid and hopefully they will be put back on the road in the near future. I will share a couple differences between the cars and some of my personal thoughts on the appearance.
If the video was helpful, please give it a "thumbs up", comment if you have any questions and consider subscribing.
I am by no means a Fiat 124 Spider specialist and I haven't done any extensive research to prove my facts.

What a great find! I used to own a black (originally orange) '75 that I bought my senior year in high school. I restored all the wood dash myself and after a couple of tries it came out beautifully. I was always tweaking things here and there, upgrading things etc. Great memories of that car. Loved driving it to the beach.
The Lampredi Twin Cam is a great engine, very advanced for the time when it came out. And it has a storied history in motor sport. Particularly in WRC where it still holds the record with 10 Manufactures Championships with both Fiat and Lancia, in different configurations, of course. It's a shame that because of Federal regulations these engines were de-tuned for the US market. Losing as much as 30 hp compared to the European models. Still, they're pretty fun to drive.
Who knows how long these spiders been sitting there, so one of the first things you gotta check is the timing belt, these being interference engines.

I agree! Thank you for sharing your amazing story and it's always cool to hear things like this. You must have learned A LOT about these cars and you must have done all the work yourself.
Wow, I did not know any of the history you just mentioned and it's great that you wrote this in the comment section. There are always many interested viewers that love to engage in conversations!
They have been sitting for quite some time and hopefully they will se the road again sometime soon, because it would be very sad to see them rot away. That is correct, timing belts don't just have a mileage, but an age too.
      Thanks again, Regards Andreas

Great video and nice collection of spiders. You did a nice presentation of the spiders. There was several mis-statements regarding some features about the various models but I believe as you work on them you will figure out the details. I currently own 4 spiders and 4 other Fiat brands and have owned at least one going back to 1986. Even with that, I’m not an expert, still learning new things about them every time I wrench on them. Enjoy and I look forward to more videos

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! I'm trying to portrait them the best I can. Sometimes it's hard to get the right shots. Yes, I am a 'newbie' to these cars and I am planning to restore the red 1974 model. I will do my best to gather more information about these cars to make my upcoming videos better. That's amazing! These cars are pretty straight-forward on the mechanical side of things and it's always good to work on cars. They are a very popular brand in Europe and in Russia (Lada). Thank you, best regards
