That og set is very nice. I would get that one if I can find it. The artwork is awesome. The story book like set is very cool. The pop up in the center fold is nice. I would take a bluray version of the same set.
The reason why some of the original discs have the same brown color is because they were meant to match the coloring for the book cover of The Enchiridion. I hope that makes sense to you.
They're identical the packaging is the main difference and the disc on the 2nd are color coded instead of 1 color on alot and the extra disc is the same

I'm not a big fan of the packaging style of that green case, since it's easy to damage the discs (on my copy of the Next 100 Episodes of SpongeBob, disc 12 has cracks in the middle because the slot for that disc is a bit tighter than usual - and that disc has It's a SpongeBob Christmas...). Also, the box art for the Adventure Time set is based off the Enchiridion, a book from the show - a book which is brown, not green, so I'm not sure why they changed the color for the re-release.

I assume it's just cheaper to manufacture them in a plastic case than to go the extra mile to recreate the book casing. Too bad folks who buy the reprint set won't get to see all the beautiful artwork on each page as well as the pop-up segment in the middle. At the very least they're getting all the media, just not the fine craftsmanship (besides the questionable disc sleeves) of the original run of this set. I'm glad to have gotten the first pressing of this set before they switched to this cheap, disappointing variant.
Yeah if anybody really wants to collect these I go for the original season sets because then you don't have to deal with the bullshit Packaging just the slipcovers maybe screwing up every once in awhile
That old set was cool and all, but I just hate that style of disc packaging. The first one I bought had light scratches on a few of the discs, I then exchanged it for a new one which still wasn’t perfect🫤. It is what it is, I guess 🤷♂️

It's hard to find a brown version that isn't a bootleg. If you just want the show, then buy the basic green version.

I'm glad I was able to get the Blu Ray complete collection for a good price last year.
I prefer the original box set. Much cooler. I just used clamp cases for the disks.
