Love your public land hunts! It is work! One thing I now do that you might want to consider is, I carry a 1lb deep sea fishing weight and a carabine with me for my jerk rig. I drop the weight in the water as close as possible in front of me and attach the jerk lint to it with the carabine. it keeps all the jerk line under water. when the birds are wary every bit helps!

Hey just a tip. I don’t know maybe it’ll work. Every time you give kind of like a up date you should show what time it is when your thanking to the camera maybe like a small clock at the bottom corn off the screen

Need to hide the jerk string a little better. Would be surprised how that string hitting the water would shy birds. I run a angled piece of pvc pipe from my yak that I run the jerk string through into the yak.
That made me smile hearing them boys try so hard to pull that bird then u smoke it.
Thats where 90% of hunters these days screw up and why we pull birds away from guys around us...quit screaming at them!! When ducks are comfortable on water they don't make a whole lot of noise a quack here and there

Honestly I'd rather get 5 and not have to switch then 6 and have to move everything. There's plenty of days in the season and as you know it's not all about the limits. Good hunting. Did perfectly fine by my books. Chalk it up to a bad shot or 2 and on to tomorrow. 🤘
