I love that they actually thought this out when making the game. I couldn't find it anywhere online so I had to record this. The cause of video game science demanded it.
Ngl, when I beat the main story I make like 18 files so I can marry everyone, so far I have Dolce, Vishnal, Dylas, Kiel, and Doug, I really wanna marry Clorica next she's so adorable
I manage to get everyone. But I’ll have to say. Doug and Margret are really tedious and slow. One due to he refuses to go above 3 heart until the end of act 2. And the other due to SO MANY pre-required quest to get to the marriage quest.
I think for "open world" games like this writers dont write like how most linear single players games would, where the player needs to fit into the story of the game. instead the story needs to revolve around the character, so its more like they put all these characters into a diagram and then writes every event the main character will be in and fit every single one of them regardless of whether it would make sense that they would be in that event or not. fun thing about this type of writing is it makes people want to find that "unintentional eastereggs" cause i dont even think the devs expected you to not leave town for 5 years and have ur kids go through all that dungeon. I wouldn't even be surprised if they wrote dialogues for characters if ur main character went out of bounds or moves to an impossible event or location through cheat where ur character wasnt meant to be in. because maybe one of the npcs had a dialogue there so they needed to add a reaction dialogue for every character u bring there. Basically how I would think of it is if the game characters and events is in an excel sheet the devs would basically fill all of the cells to the brim regardless if those character would fit in that event or not. This literally means this game is packed to the brim and i bet theres alot of more dialogues left undiscovered. alright sorry about my essay, and if it get confusing toward the end. just had fun thinking about this.
I would love to see more hidden dialogue if people could find it. Like if you could somehow glitch to get Dylas, Dolce, or Leon in town before Amber and then seeing if they have any unique dialogue. Might be more possible with the steam edition now.

This actually reminds me of something that I stumbled upon in the of rune factory 4. If you are married, you can trigger the cutscene starting at 30:21 early. After you see the chipsqueak jump off the cliff I think it was? I found it because the gate could be smaller than the pathway so you could get around it and get Leon Karnak materials... (Was going for fur m) and triggered the cutscene... Went back to the mansion and it acted as if I placed the rune sphere. (Had yet to beat plant monster) I wonder if the same glitch exists in special? ((Tldr : being married by last part of arc 1 (discovery of the cave below first forest through story) lets you skip that part if you go to entrance of Leon Karnak alone because 'power of love' summons the spheres to where they should be.)
@@epsilonchannel502 Yeah... heck... nothing came up when searching about it. soooo.... I posted about it on gamefaqs under plot skip glitch, about 6 years ago. And it is able to happen even earlier. Like, according to someone else who tested it out, if you're married and have beaten Dolce's monster form, it skips the rune spheres. (don't need to activate chipsqueak scenes, it seems?)
RF4 remains to be my favorite in the series because of their attention to detail and depth. I'm currently playing RF5 and it seemed really lacking unfortunately. After RF5 ill most likely go back to playing RF4 (this time the Special switch version) to get a refresher. (still waiting on another RF2 where there is a second generation haha)
Yep, RF4 was a magical experience. I liked 5 but it definitely didn't match 4 in terms of quality. Probably due to the short development time and lack of resources. I'm hoping they'll release Special editions of the other Rune Factory games sometime, too.
I agree with this, RF5 is severely lacking compared to RF4 in that department, not even unique dialogue with ur loved one or ur own child if u bring em in main story or any certain scenario, even the last fight and ending feels hollow for the same reason..
@@epsilonchannel502 I hope so too, it's unfortunate since playing RF4 feels so alive because of that, even a tiny bit of details like u shown in this video makes me happy. In any case, thank you for showcasing this! They even thought of this possible scenario happens, that's pretty amazing
You should be doing voice overs or voice acting or radio. Great voice. Also, my biggest disappointment with RF Tides of Destiny was that once you have a child it just sits at the portal all day. It was creepy. I love that the child in this one can go on adventures and has further dialog.
Thank you! I'm still inexperienced with doing voice work but I try to get better by streaming. Also, I still need to finish Tides of Destiny lol I liked the game but not as much as the other RF games.

And this is what differentiates RF4 from RF5... This is exactly what is missing from 5. All the different dialogues and personalities... 5 doesn't even come close to 4 in this area.
Yeah it's kind of sad. I still really like 5 but 4 is still my favorite in the series. I hope now that the series is revived, they'll make a Rune Factory 6 with as much effort and polish as RF4.
@@epsilonchannel502 I really hope so too. Did you play the Japanese version of 5? Before same sex marriage was put in? There has been talk in the FB groups saying that the localization screwed up which is why we have so many repeating dialogue lines and why it doesn't feel as organic as 4 did. I wonder how much truth there is to that. I do also like 5, and on its own its pretty damn good don't get me wrong, but next to 4 it looks pretty bad lol. Still miles and miles better than SOS Pioneers 🤢 lol.
@@nekokikogaming3530 I did play the Japanese version back when it first came out. I think the dialogue was about as repetitive in Japanese as English but my Japanese also isn't the best so it might not be accurate to say that. But even in Japanese, the game wasn't as organic as 4. I think it was due to limited budget and time constraint for the developer more than anything though.
@@epsilonchannel502 thank you for the info! I had my doubts about that but I was thinking anything is possible. It was so strange to me that they would get rid of the thing that made RF4 so successful, but the budget thing sounds about right lol. Hopefully with the success of 5, they will get a bigger budget and learn from their mistakes in 5 and bring us something that knocks all the other RFs out the door. I truly hope as I love the series and would hate to see it die. Even in 5 I already have 40 hours put in which is way more than most other switch games I play and I'm no where close to being done lol. I'm glad to see they made the game interesting enough for me to keep wanting to jump in at least.
@@nekokikogaming3530 I'm the same! I really like 5 though it's definitely not as good as 4. I read an interview with the director last year when the game came out in Japan and he suggested that that was the case. I think it still sold well so I hope Marvelous and Hakama will be able to invest more resources into the series in the future.
I want to thank everyone who has watched this video! I had no idea when I made it that so many people would watch it. I thought maybe a hundred at most. Boy, was I wrong! For those wondering about the low production value, this was literally the first video I've ever made so I didn't really know what I was doing. I mean, I completely forgot to unmute the BGM in the first 10 minutes of the video and somehow didn't realize until well after I had uploaded it to UA-cam. I wish I had a way to fix that, but, unfortunately, the only way to do that would be to reupload the video and delete this one, which I refuse to do. So I do apologize for low production, but I do feel like I've made much better videos since then. I just wanted to thank you all for stopping by and wish you the best in whatever you're doing in life!
The intro of this video is so funny every time I see it. I am getting invested in these games and wish RF 1 was on the switch, because I just bought the sequel for my Wii. But it is really cool when the developers actually take into account that some madman would actually just have a kid before leaving town. Or just do stuff that's not really required when playing the game normally. Finding things like these really makes games all the more fun. Why are farming RPGs so much fun? I am still playing Harvestella and that game is really fun as well. I just keep running out of money. Why is upgrading your farm so expensive?
Thank you for enjoying it! I hope they'll eventually release Special versions for RF1 and 2 now that 3 is getting one, but those games may need a little more work put into them than 3 and 4 needed so I'm not sure how they would handle it. Love me action RPG farming slice of life games though!
@@epsilonchannel502 Yeah, I'm still only playing Harvestella but RF looks like so much fun with all the cooking and crafting you can do. And the woolies are so cute. What is this curse? But there are just so many games I keep finding that I think look fun. But hey, at least RFF is a good reason to bust out that wii again. The moment I no longer have roomates. that one guy just yells shit into the void and even the people above us can hear him. Thank god, the Switch supports headphones now. I really look forward to playing RF when I get to it. I'll wait a bit before I get 5 and 3 and maybe they will port some of the other older games too. I think I will spend my easter watching your videos for RF 1. To get some context for Frontier. Mist is so weird but I think she's fun.
@@Nikita_Akashya hope you'll have fun! RF1 suffers a little from first game syndrome but was still very fun! Mist was my favorite of the bachelorettes because she's weird lol
I wonder if this was something they added specifically because they thought someone who did NG+ would be able to get married very quickly compared to a first playthrough before leaving the town. Also completely unrelated but kinda losing it that JP Amber also does those silly laugh noises the English VA does.
Very interesting, I wonder if there's different dialogue if you have a boy child. Also the video was posted on my birthday so that's fun. Also as others have already mentioned thanks for the effort you put into this since I also was unaware of the specific requirements for it not working for certain characters.
Thank you! I'm glad a lot of people seemed to enjoy the video so much. I'm not sure if the dialogue would change for a male child. I kind of figured it would be the same either way lol. I guess there's no reason to actually assume that though. Now I kind of want to figure it out...
so is this like AI-based or did the dev just anticipate someone having a weird idea of doing this? "but sir, it's probably just one or two people who would think of having a child before leaving town, the budget..." "JUST DO IT!"
This was actually programmed in the game. They were covering all the potential partners you could bring into dungeons with you, I guess. They knew it was probably going to be their last game, so they said they wanted to add everything they could think of in it.

@@epsilonchannel502 oh I know it is I completed all three arcs on file 2 I'm planning to unlock new game plus on it too. I'm just wondering if dating the ladies with a gender change or men with a gender change would actually work on RF4
@@sarahtelles1957 I'm pretty sure you can. Though it's really just you changing your appearance through the order system. You're still considered a guy even if you change your appearance to female, so you'd only be able to date women. Or vice versa if you started the game as female.
Unfortunately Doug's friendship/heart points are locked until you finish arc 2. They won't go above 3 or 4 points. It's unfortunate. I'm not sure if it's possible with Kiel or Arthur either as some of their heart events may take them outside of town to areas of the map locked by story progression. Not positive on that though. Since the game is out on steam, you might be able to hack the heart points for Doug to go above the limit, but that could also cause issues with other parts of the game's code.
Barely related to the video: I feel like something has gone a little wrong with your character design if an adult you can marry (Amber) is visually similar enough to your six year old daughter to be confusing to someone who hasn’t played the game in a year 🤔
I can't remember since it's been such a long time but I remember seeing someone listing the equipment and upgrade materials for it online. I think it was on an old gamefaqs thread about an armor set that grants you immunity to almost all elemental damage.

I've rescued all four guardians and I've been through the Maya road and started the sechs territory, that's when I realized something wasn't right, Doug's fp still will not go passed 3. Any help would be appreciated.
Are you playing RF4 Special? Or are you playing the 3DS version? If it's RF4 Special, then you can start Arc 2 by leaving town a few days after the end of Arc 1. You actually have to walk through the gate leaving town in the south. You can't teleport there. Arc 2 should begin and then you'll go through a series of dungeons and you'll have to go through Maya Road and Sechs Territory while chasing some soldiers.
Unfortunately I didn't really think about that. I did talk to her a couple of times. You can see that in the full video I uploaded after this one but I don't have time stamps for it sadly. I didn't do it for every story event, just a few of them. Sorry about that. It kind of slipped my mind.

@@epsilonchannel502 there’s the ones that require a few items I have never heard off. Like doom pumpkin. Not sure what that is. I tried making big crops but they have yet to spawn
@@dcscruz2970 ah, you shouldn't need those plants to continue on with the plot sections. Those areas that require special plants just some bonuses. As for doom pumpkins, you have to plant a 2x2 patch of pumpkins and use Gaintizer on them. Wait for them to grow to full size and then wait a few more days and they'll grow bigger. But if you continue waiting a few more days, they fuse together and become a Doom Pumpkin. If you need higher stats for your weapons and armor, I suggest finding some Doublefold steel or 10-Fold steel. You can also use Object X to reverse the affects of future improvements used in your weapons or armors. This normally would be a bad idea, but you can use mealy apples to get higher defenses. Object X comes from failing pharmacy crafting. Mealy Apples come from one of the bosses, but I recommend fighting the Monster called Typhoon, which only spawns in during a Typhoon. You can only fight him once per typhoon, but if you defeat him and warp away before his body disappears, you can fight him multiple times and get more chances of him dropping Mealy Apples.

Everyone is really good. I still haven't married everyone yet but I want to eventually. Maybe when it comes to PC.
I manage to get everyone. But I’ll have to say. Doug and Margret are really tedious and slow. One due to he refuses to go above 3 heart until the end of act 2. And the other due to SO MANY pre-required quest to get to the marriage quest.
thats what I do too, i finish the main story then proceed to make different save files to marry everyone and see their routes.
I’m glad I’m not the only one to have tried this
I think for "open world" games like this writers dont write like how most linear single players games would, where the player needs to fit into the story of the game.
instead the story needs to revolve around the character, so its more like they put all these characters into a diagram and then writes every event the main character will be in and fit every single one of them regardless of whether it would make sense that they would be in that event or not.
fun thing about this type of writing is it makes people want to find that "unintentional eastereggs" cause i dont even think the devs expected you to not leave town for 5 years and have ur kids go through all that dungeon.

(Had yet to beat plant monster)
I wonder if the same glitch exists in special?
((Tldr : being married by last part of arc 1 (discovery of the cave below first forest through story) lets you skip that part if you go to entrance of Leon Karnak alone because 'power of love' summons the spheres to where they should be.)
Oh wow I had no idea about that! I wonder what other glitches like that exist. I'm not sure about if they patched them in Special or not.
@@epsilonchannel502 Yeah... heck... nothing came up when searching about it.
soooo.... I posted about it on gamefaqs under plot skip glitch, about 6 years ago.

@@epsilonchannel502 I really hope so too. Did you play the Japanese version of 5? Before same sex marriage was put in?
