I was 14 years old, when this song was released and I was captivated immediately. The singing, the stomping rhythm and the drumming got me. It was something very unusual, but fascinating.
Now I judge music in a different way. But nevertheless, I like to hear this song from time to time. Good old memories. 😉
Gosh, I remember this Suzi Quatro song very well from 1973, it was on Top of the Pops a lot in the UK as were a lot of her other songs. Songs such as 'Devil Gate Drive', If You Can't Give Me Love' and 'Daytona Demon'. I have to say this song isn't really a favourite of mine now although I liked it more at the time and yes, I agree, I think two minutes or just over would have been long enough. Wow, school disco flashback! All the guys loved Suzi. She is tiny btw, like 4'10" I think. A simpler time.
I was 13 when this came out. I was entranced by Bowie, Roxy Music, T Rex. Genesis, Led Zeppelin etc ; so many great bands and singers. Suzi Quatro was an ok singer fronting a rock (ish) bubblegum band . They didn't write their songs (which were largely forgettable) I feel your pain ;0)

Great reaction. I agree. She's a force, no doubt. but the song was kind of weak in terms of "would I listen to it again." I think it would be fun to hear it in a bar or at her concert, chanting a long. I feel the same way about The Ramones and some other punk-pop legends.

Well guys, thanks for your reaction. Suzi is the Queen of Rock way before Blondie and Joan Jett. I think part of the problem you guys haven't really been exposed to many female rockers. This was also at a time when Glam Rock was big in the UK and not big in the US also so Suzi didn't have hits in the US with her rock songs. So I have a couple more I will send to you and if you change your mind great but if it doesn't that is fine too.
As a teenage boy in the 70's I loved Suzi Q - but not a fan of this track. My favourite probably was "She's in love with you".

Not one of her best songs, not one of my favourites and i love Suzi, listen to some of her mellow stuff, apparently they used to speed up her voice in the recording studio to get that high pitch sound, not her normal voice
