“Soft Parade” is probably the most underrated Doors LP. Full of great songs.
My favorite Doors song!! This is the trip…the best part…that I really like
In 1981/82 I listened to this every morning before heading to classes at community college. I still love it 41 years later.
Now that you've passed through the Doors of Perception courtesy of the Jim's poetry, and Ray, Bobby and John's musical talents you can travel there at will for the rest of your lives. 🙂
This is definitely "the other side of the Doors", so different from their commercial output. To really, truly appreciate what a phenomenal band they were, you have to take a deep dive into their albums. This one is sheer masterpiece, how it integrates the superior musicianship, Manzarek's keyboards, Dinsmore's drums, Krieger's guitar and the studio bass combined with Morrison's ineffable poetry. So many great album tracks like Celebration of the Lizard, Shaman's Blues, Waiting For The Sun, Not To Touch The Earth, really too many to list, heck just listen to the albums. Keep riding the Doors train bros, it will be a mind-blowing experience I promise.
Nope this is so so after they sold out way SUBPAR
@@DENVEROUTDOORMANHow did they sell out?
Bros, you'll love their "Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar)" !!!
THE SPY, MAGGIE MCGILL, LOVE STREET, HYACINTH HOUSE, THE CARS HISS BY MY WINDOW, the hidden gems.
What can you say about this, 'The Soft Parade'? Well, this is an amazing, cool song, I can hear a lot of influences such as blues, rock, funk, you name it by this incredible band, The Doors! It's interesting to think they were in existence for about eight years and in that time created a fantastic catalogue of music. One song you haven't reacted to yet, is one I remember so well as it was played a lot in the UK - it's 'Hello I Love you' from 1968, love that song! Great reaction as usual, guys, you take care of yourselves now, all the best and keep safe. 😊👍
This particular song ... Densmore, Densmore, Densmore. Peace out.
Cobra on my left, leopard on my right, YEAH
I think the Doors were the Orson Wells of rockin roll
This is what progressive rock bands were about, each in its own different way. Music that challenges, experiments, combines genres in unique ways, occasionally fails but mostly entertains and stretches your perceptions..
Wow - so experimental! It takes you somewhere else with all the transitions and Jim's hypnotic vocals. Love the percussion. Interesting discussion guys. Thanks for the reaction!! გაუმარჯოს ქართულ დემოკრატიას.
I was raised in the Doors by my mom. She heard them in early 80s and they became her favorite right away. I was born in 86 and by 2 years old, I could point out a doors song on the radio. People Are Strange was always my favorite growing up, as well as Soul Kitchen, the Crystal Ship, and When the Music's Over. I'm my middle age, I can now say the Soft Parade is my favorite song of theirs. The End is high up there as well. Such an amazing array of music.
People are strange is my six year old daughter’s favorite song. She can sing that song from beginning to end ❤
IMO this is their best song, so many changes and a killer bass, sounds like they're having fun. One of the best line " all our lives we sweat and save building for a shallow grave " too true
Legend has it Jim was three sheets to the wind and half in the bag trying to put together the tracks on the Soft Parade LP. Still...it has heaps of mojo! Here are my three Doors suggestions in increasing complexity:
1. "Maggie M'Gill"---this one's dirty hillbilly blues, quick, and fun!
2. "Spanish Caravan"---vibe, vibe, VIBE!
3. "Celebration Of The Lizard"---better buckle up and wear a helmet!
Well done boys! Great song! So glad you listened, cause once you hear it, blows your mind. Jim was a genius! Thanks!
JUST WISH YOU BROTHERS COULD HAVE SEEM THEM LIVE NO REACTION JUST BY HEARING THEM CAN BE ANY BETTER THEN SEEING THEM LIVE I WAS BLESSED TO SEE THEM 3 TIMES
my favorite Doors song and maybe my favorite song. The first half is so relaxing then u get that scratchy deep tone of Jims voice with the sped up tempo in the second half. Masterpiece
U guys could literally go thru every Doors album bc they are all great.
This was a great reaction. Check out The Doors - "Shaman's Blues"
The Doors were in a league of their own.
Like I keep telling you....The Doors are among the gods of Rock n Roll!!!!
Soft Parade is an absolutely incredible record.
No it's not TOP 40 Garbage Radio for 14 year old kiddies with NO TASTE
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN someone woke up on the wrong side of the parkway, huh bud?
i've listened to this album several times in the last week, many more over the past few years, and this is nowhere near "Top 40 Garbage Radio" music. the only song on here that's even played on the radio (that i've heard) is "Touch Me" and even then its one of the best on the album.
There is a live version of this song on youtube (not a live concert one) where they are on a stage in a studio, with some kind of live NPR station or something. Jim sings it pretty good remembering all the lyrics.
I, too, have been waiting for this one. It's so sonically interesting!
George's observation that the one part was stylisticly similiar to Steely Dan had me smiling in agreement, and is likely a driving reason why it's one of my favorite songs by The Doors.
Good Vibes!
I love all your reactions to the Doors ❤
They Were So Groovy In Concert. I remember this song. I bought the Album when it came out. I still have it, Along with a few of the Door's other ones!!!
Saw them live in '69.
Always loved this, sounded like nothing else back than, and still!
Great way to start out the weekend guys!! Thanks for posting yet another 'unique' Doors tune - each one is soooo different. Loved your comments and watching your reaction😊🧡
Hi Jules, how are you doing? Haven't had a reaction from the guys for a few days, hopefully soon! We're still not out of the cold, wet weather here in Scotland. It is a beautiful day today but so cold, at least I can get out for my walk. It poured all day yesterday so wasn't out at all, the rest of the week doesn't look that great, roll on spring! Hope things are okay with you, Jules, take care now and all the best. 😊😊
@@annemaclean6634 Hi Anne, glad you are having a nice day there despite the cold - at least you can get out for a bit. We are having challenging weather here as the west coast continues to be hit with snow and rain causing flooding and evacuations in some areas. The west needs the rain but it has come quickly and relentlessly over the last month. You are right though, spring is right around the corner and St. Patrick's Day!☘ Take care and we will see if there are any reactions today.☺
@@Jules-um4yy Hi Jules, so sorry to hear about your awful weather too, gosh, it must be dreadful to be evacuated from your home because of flooding, I do hope you were okay and had no problems. It was -6 here last night so I kept the heating on quite low, just to keep the house warm. So, no reaction last night, I do hope the guys are okay and maybe just busy with other things. Be good to hear from them soon. All the best, Jules. 😊
Loved this. Reminded me of my teen years and this album was meant to be and really WAS a trip. We used to have so much fun with this. It seems like it was so long ago, probably because it was. I had forgotten about all of this until I started listening and it all came flooding back. It's too bad that recording this was so stressful for the band members, but it paid off for us....the fans.
So do 'Peace Frog' and remember he says my name a few times @ 1:40
Hi Dan, the guys reacted to Peace Frog about a year ago.😊😊
@@annemaclean6634 that is not why I want them to hear it again...itf is becuase Jim Morrison says my name DAN REED 3 times @ 1:40///////wanted to hear what the hear
The pioneers of Progressive Rock was Yes....1968....Rush... 1969.....however The Beatles really led the way to what we called "Progressive Rock " on their albums in 1965 -1967....then Yes and Rush and Genesis followed and really made Progressive Rock popular to listeners and music critics because the genre was so different and complex in its musicality, as I remembered.
when that organ kicked in, it took me back to the 90s, and i started tasting lip balm
" the soft parade" live in PBS....!!!!
Mike and the mechanics and their song, In The Living Years is good , too. So is a song called, Baby Come Back by a group called Player. Wish you would react to one or both of these. 🫤
The song is an acid trip.
54 freaking years ago! Let that sink in....yes, you can get an out of body experience with only internal brain chemicals.
The Doors are definitely a progressive Rock Band. Maybe not in the sense of what PROG ROCK became later. But they were pioneers in music like them or not.
Is anybody out there that saw The Doors in Miami when he was arrested for his performance? I did. I think it would be great to reminisce.
Jim's poetic survival map on how to navigate thru a manipulated and controlled culture..... waiting for you guys to do not to touch the earth, a powerful and startingly look into the abyss.
This is much better than I remember. Great song.
Hands down best doors song ever.. they could have split thebfirst 3 minutes and the 2nd half into two different songs.. 3:00 to the end is just so totally amazing it stands alone on its own...
This and 5 to 1 are my all time favorites.. so much truth in the lyrics
Progressive rock definitely started in the 60s. The Moody Blues and Days of Future Passed are usually considered one of the stand outs.
How do you even think to arrange something like this?! And the lyrics have meaning on top of meaning
Been waiting for this one!!!!
Epic song opening an epic record 🙌
Great reaction, meine Herren! I worked with Georgians at the Oda House in New York... great guys!
Great album
The monk bought lunch…
Yeah he bought a little!
Yes he did
One of my favs!
The Doors were dedicated to the use of psychedelic substances. Those were the years of LSD everywhere, of many different types. Jim Morrison loved tripping. That wasn't a rumor. We all did, ha!
Check out Shaman’s Blues. Incredible!
In case you didn't catch it, you CANNOT petition the lord with prayer.
You guys do your own tripping cool
I love this song
One of my favorites!!🎉

OMG ! I've never heard this with this incredible sound. Has this been re done with modern sound tech ? It's so crystal clear ! I heard things I never heard before . Wow !!!
You must also check "Five to one".
Pink Floyd is definately for blowing your mind......The Doors are for afterwards.....when your mind is gone. (That's meant as a very high compliment😉) ☕🇨🇦
So cool. ! Goes looking for Steely Dan.

I love the intro to this song, then it lets itself down in my opinion. Thankfully it gets better during the monk segment. Phew! 😊
Hi guys, I'd like to recommend these songs to you, mainly heavy metal/heavy rock, there are a lot of bands you haven't reacted to for a long time, if at all. I know you would love them, they've all got great guitar solos and I know how much you like them! I haven't included my special request because I've already told you about that, but perhaps you could have these songs on your playlist for future reactions? Just a thought!

Hey guys, if possible, reaction to Eloy, it's a progressive/space rock band from Germany. The band's name is borrowed from the science fiction novel The Time Machine by H. G. Wells, where "eloi" is the name of a race of people in the distant future.

Brilliant
Critically acclaimed, not a blockbuster, but those people are ignorant. Lol. One of their best albums as far as I'm concerned.
Also like Frank Zappa or like each other.
