It will hold up, ignore the naysayers. It will just require a bit of different maintenance vs a traditional shower floor. I did something similar to this using a similar species of wood. The main difference with mine was that the "risers", I made them from HDPE or ABS, I don't remember which because I did it almost 14 years ago...time flies. It's still going 👍
