You should be a politician, Mark. You do a great job with your verbal skills. Very enjoyable review. 2 weeks ago, I picked up a black with blue trim Z900. I looked at 2 new MT09s, and I have to say the looks didn't agree with me. The Z looked amazing. I was a little intimidated at first, since I've been on a VStrom for years. But, anyone that says the Z can't keep up with an '09 hasn't ridden one. You need to get a dealership nearby to let you review all types of bikes! You'd have a ton of subs...
Ha ha, thanks for your comments Frank, much appreciated. Unfortunately my day job keeps getting in the way of riding bikes or I'd be reviewing a whole load more.
I think it is important to say that even if an bike "is not really your cup of Tea" so to speak, it does not mean it is an bad bike. It is just a personal choice. What suits me, might not be suitable for someone else.
It's a fair point but with a helmet cam all you get is wind noise, maybe a carefully placed external mic next time. Definitely a great sounding bike though.
Go to admit, I always look back at mine and am glad I got it. On my recent trip to Whitby it was 5 hours before I stopped for a break as I was quite happy riding along. I don’t know if it’s the TCS settings that have changed but I’ve had the odd moment on my 2016 MT-08 where I’ve started sliding backwards on the seat pulling away - although that could be down to me being a newbie 😂 Great review.
With everything I've seen and read on this bike, I do think they have softened it a little - both in terms of the power delivery and looks. It makes it more of an all-rounder but I reckon it looses some of its edge. Your model of MT09 with a quick shifter and TFT would be unbeatable!
Enjoying your reviews, came across the channel researching the Z900 as my next bike. Was wondering how tall you were for reference? Would have considered the MT-09 if it wasn’t such a dog.
Hi There I'm 5' 7" with a 30 inch inside leg. You should definitely consider this bike if you are after a 900cc naked, it quite simply sets the standard. Looks are always subjective.
That's because you haven't played with the settings. Try Drive mode 1 with TCS set to manual. On manual settings turn off traction control, lift control off.
Th Z900 & MT09 are both great bikes. I do reckon the Z900 is very underrated. However, I do just prefer the excitement of the MT09, even if the looks are slightly questionable. Both would be a great choice.
@@bikerevz I don’t know.. the 2021 version of the MT09 is a lot better in every department than the older models. I am even starting to really like the look. Going to go and ride both again this weekend as they are both really different to ride, even if there in they are in the same segment of the market. I really don’t see there is a wrong choice.
No matter how good the bike is ... i just REALLY dont like the look, its horrible ... and thats a deal breaker for me ... i acutally test drove it, but went for the Z900 ... and for the MT you can only buy full exhaust systems for like 1.000€

Good content. I hope your channel grows more!
I hope so too! Thank you for your kind comment.
WHY!!! did you put this background music 14:43, the bike sounds much better!

That's the trouble when you only get an hour to try out a bike. If I ride one again, I will definitely try that. Thanks.

Both really exciting bikes so it comes down to looks for me. I guess someone who is really into wheelies would have more fun on an MT09.

Thanks for your comments, glad you went with the Z900 :-)
Z 900 more sporty and fun🔥🤙
And the Z900 is better looking. What's not to like!
Man, this new mt09 is butt ugly. It even has a butthole of a headlight to match.
Maybe it's an acquired taste!
