- In the first week of our Chosen series, Pastor Rodney is examining Episode 1 of Season 2. We look at the story of James and John, nicknamed the Sons of Thunder. Jesus and the disciples are in Samaria and we gain insight into what it really means to love like Jesus.

Does anyone else tear up while watching the chosen?
I vacillate between softly-flowing tears and body-wracking sobs! What a great job God is leading for you all!!
Almost every episode. Don't under estimate the holy spirit - it's not talked about or understood as much. To me personally it's the loving mother side of God. He made us in his image.
With every episode I am crying. Dallas has done an absolutely terrific job. And the acting is superb! God bless!

I believe this series is what God means when he says In the last days I will pour out my spirit upon all mankind. The end is near my friends. Dallas has been anointed to produce this show to tell us who Jesus REALLY is. I have been touched by this show. God loves us so much!!
Although it's emotionally appealing, it's biblically inaccurate in so many ways. The lame man at the pool was not brothers with Simon the Zealot. Scripture doesn't have there paths crossing at all. Matthew never helped structure or restructure the beatitudes in any way, nor did The Messiah, The Son of God need him to or need him in any way apart from following Him and repenting of his sins. Every episode gets it wrong. I heard in season 3 they actually have Jesus proclaim a very Mormon teaching which is that Jesus IS the law, which he is NOT. He frees us from having to follow the law and count the law since no one can fulfill it, apart from Him. Although the show may make you feel good, it's perverting scripture and teaching you incorrectly. I hope you consider the truth of what I've told you and take this show to scripture and you will see it is not doing God's work. It's adding to and taking away from scripture, which is forbidden by God.

It’s not a UNIVERSAL GIFT. Jesus died for us but WE MUST ACCEPT HIS GIFT AND REPENT IF OUR SINS. We have to ADMIT AND AGREE WITH GOD WE ARE WRETCHED SINNERS AND IT SEPARATED US FROM GOD. It’s only through JESUS WE ARE RECONCILED WITH God.
Every time I point out the inaccuracies of this film I’m attacked, even by Dallas when he had Mary RELAPSE. SHE WASNT AN ALCOHOLIC OR DRUG ADDICT! This is MISLEADING! She was POSSESSED BY DEMONS! I HATED THAT SCENE! And I HATED THE SCENE WHERE HE HAS THE DISCIPLES FALLING IN LOVE WITH THE WOMEN! When confronted by it Dallas was rebellious and defiant and DUG IN AND SAID VERY COCKY “oh yes we are and you’ll see more” disgusting unrepentant pride! You have Catholics, Jews, Protestant Christians & Mormons theology all wrapped up in one film. It’s INSANE! People are dying to hear about Jesus & be close to Him and this film is misconstruing scripture and events so it’s deceitful & DALLAS IS NOT ANOINTED! THIS EPISODE IS SO DECEITFUL!

The culture of this world and namely Satan is to argue and prove a point, even this man who talks over the video is shallow, it's not about anybodies cute voice or emotional music or great acting faces..."God is seeking those who will worship in Spirit and Truth" what that guys point is, is that you all want to praise the show....INSTEAD of praising God and "binging" on HIS word! Jonathan Roumie is portraying Jesus Christ, do you know that you can too? When we believe in Him and serve Him we become His embodiment in this, here and now today world.
Jesus Christ the Son of God, our Father who had the power to give life, gave up His perfect life to pay the price for our iniquities, He died and rose back to life, He CONQUERED death and hell! He didn't give it a holiday,he didn't put it on probation,he didn't say ok Satan I'll give you another chance....for goodness sake NO, Jesus paid the price for your life!

@@whiteangel3824 My understanding is that is the cult belief of the Jehova's witnesses. That belief goes against Christian doctrine. It contradicts John 3:16 which clearly states that "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
As long as you accept Jesus as your lord, savior, and you give yourself to him you will be welcomed in the kingdom of heaven.
edit: Also to add, the verse does not say they will be the only ones chosen to go to heaven. It says that 12,000 from 12 tribes will be sealed. It says that is the number of them that are sealed.
I am Ukrainian. And I did had to hear it.. once again as reminder for myself. We have neighbor country who came to kill and my heart is filled up with anger so much like never before. Seen people suffering from bombs and all the war actions… i know we can only win with the light from our hearts. We are not perfect, but His word is greater and more powerful then darkness. Yes, to pray for you (which we do), we must ALSO pray for the soul of your enemy, who is also our enemy.
I am British, and my country has been threatened with nuclear destruction many times in recent months, because it helps your country.
So it is very hard indeed for us to pray for our enemy, but Jesus told us to do JUST THAT.

I love this show of history. I believe in Jesus, I trust him, I love him. Every time is see the commercials for the woman at the well and the crippled man at the bath, I’m brought to tears. I struggle in my faith but, always believe in Jesus. God are the ones I have a problem with.
Can you imagine sitting next to a bonfire, with Christ and his disciples, just having a friendly chat and sharing a meal? 🤩
I find myself feeling jealous of the Apostles, although all had very difficult lives in front of them. To be with Jesus as He was on earth, to look into His eyes and be His friend, to share a meal and a joke with him - what an amazing, incomprehensible thing that must have been.

Watching this made Jesus real for me. Dear Esther, I HAD THE SAME REACTION-IT MADE JESUS REAL TO ME. Example, when He called Simon the Z and threw his dagger into the Jordon River Jesus, the actor, said "Didn't see that coming did you." That was real and I think He would have said that. Also I know that I and others may have lionized the Disciples, but in fact they were flawed men just as we are. But the love of the Savior changed them into men who changed the world. Jesus called the disciples to be fishers of men. What is not recorded but He may have said, "You catch 'em, I'll clean 'em."

If this made Jesus real to you then he wasn't real to you to begin with. I suggest you stop watching the show and pick up the Bible and read and study. It will be more profitable and not put you on the road to hell.

The Chosen won't put this individual on the road to hell but Pharisee type legalistic Christians help to push a lot of people away from Christ but they don't realize it. I used to attend a church filled with this mindset and lived under the control of condemnation.
If you've spent any time reading the testimonies of viewers who've watched this series, you'll find many have been inspired to read their Bibles again and seek Jesus Christ. Also, there are those who have received him as their Lord and Savior.
Is the production perfect? No, but also understand that some of the dialogue is written to help explain things to those who know nothing about the Scriptures. I stopped watching The Chosen and the Lord brought me back to it again by viewing it with reactions. The series touched my heart and tears would begin to flow due to the portrayal of the humanity of Jesus and his disciples. This softened and healed my heart which had been hardened by legalistic religion.
It was exactly the perfect place for Jesus's message to be heard for they were in need of the TRUTH and that is what Jesus did for us all.

Jesus always has a meaning for asking us to do something. The deciples are trying to figure it out before Jesus reveals it to them. We need to learn His ways and learn His message! Very powerful. I loved when Jesus said "I Am what I Am" you could see the look on John’s face; he got it! I loved the Teaching that was interspersed especially the closing teaching of the light vs. the darkness. I am trying to put away my old self and live transformed; my true new self. With the power of the Holy Spirit living in me, I will be able to. I want to Lord Jesus. With you, there will be victory here. Praise God!
It gave me chills when the Lord turned to look at John after saying, “I am a man, John”, then said,”I AM WHO I AM”! John was just told that He is God!! Astounding truth!!

WHY?This series have brought the scriptures to life for me. I thought I understood, but THE CHOSEN, has made me FEEL the gospel. My heart has been so affected through this wonderful “ story telling” of those who knew him. The King of the Universe” has made his presence known to me! AWESOME☺️😀🥰
I asked to see HIM in a prayer, just to see HIM this side of Heaven.
I prayed with all my heart around Feburary 2017; HE came early morning April 2, 2017.
HE woke me up, with a wave of HIS HAND, didn't touch me, but HE let me look HIM. HE didn't talk to me. HE was made of light. Very very verrrry bright light that hurt my eyes and my brain. I knew that was HIM. HIS HAIR down to HIS shoulders and wavy. HIS FACE...most beautiful face I have ever seen ....undiscribable.
HE looked very much like HIS pictures. HIS FACE was radiated with light but it was LOVE and PEACE that hit me like an ocean wave; there is nothing equal to HIM here on earth. There is nothing here, no love or peace equal to what I experinced with HIM. If only HE extended HIS HAND and asked my to go with HIM, I would, with pleasure.
I used to be affraid of flilghts. Now I look forward to trips by air. I always remember HIS FACE and think there is no death for me.
Not that I don't love my life but I think if I leave this body, I will get to be with HIM for ever, and that makes me happy.
Now, my desire is to tell everyone to pray, with all their heart and all faith. You don't "have to" pray to HIM, you "GET TO" PRAY and talk to HIM. It is your biggest priviledge. Do not, and say again do not make a joke about it. HE is real and HE IS THE GREAT I AM.
I think this language, I speak and write a few and no language is worthy to write HIS NAME so the best I can do is use all capital letters.
Seeing HIM was as amazing and as frightening at the same time. I knew I was in presence of GOD THE SON. All that I ever thought I would say if I saw JESUS went away and I was speechless. I tried to mumble something, but he raised HIS HAND and brought down his three fingers close to my lips, not touching me, but HE shut me down. HE IS MADE OF LOVE AND PEACE but HE is all POWER at the same time.
What I love about Joanthan Roumie that makes him perfect as JESUS has to do with expression in his, in The Chosen.
I think if we have pure heart, a heart of humiliity and mercy, if we read the WORD and have faith; as HE said, size of a musterd seed, we are so
much luckier than Apostals. We have HOLY SPIRIT with us at all times, we have the entire STORY in WORD, from begining to the END and we have GOD THE FATHER and our SAVIOR, our sweet JESUS THE MESSIAH that listens to our prayers and HE never forsakes us.
Now, very time I go to a worship in Church or concerts like Hillsong Band, or to amazing Cathedrals and Churches all over the world that were built for HIM, I think THE CREATOR OF UNIVERSE our precious JESUS is so humble and meek that HE came to me, to me??? just because I asked? WOW!!!!!!!! what a GOD we have.
So Jeff, in answer to your comment I say: Pray, just pray, and you will be in HIS amazzzzzzzing presence.
I've never been so moved before in my life and yes my ❤️ have been penetrate in a way like never before and may the change of our Lord continue on within us all so that we will be Ready for his Great Return in the mighty name of Jesus Amen praise you my Lord Amen 📜❤️🔥🕊

this is one of my favorite episodes of the first THREE seasons. Of course the meeting with Nicodemus and the woman at the well are also episodes that I watch repeatedly with tears.
I love how the thunder roared, as if GOD was agreeing to the conclusion John had arrived at to pen( under HOLY SPIRITS’ guidance) his Gospel!
That was exactly what I thought too , every time John had an idea for his book he heard the thunder roared like it was Jesus saying..I like that ,use that one son of thunder ⚡ 😄

I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior simply by reading the Gospel of John. He became so real to me. I had no pastor or church. By the Holy Spirit is was like Jesus leapt off those pages and into my life and things have never been the same. Jesus alone is God. He is THE way, THE truth, and THE life and as he said "No man can come to the Father but by me."
Just what is needed in this sad world today. Thank you for providing this video.

Oh how I love The Chosen. A friend, a brother in Christ, shared this with me because of something I said about Jesus being joyful and humorous. I cried because after 50 years of teaching out of the "norm" someone got the same vision of Christ. Our Savior is the Creator of All just and John recorded. Yet He is big enough to find Himself in my room when I need to repent of sin and when I need a good chuckle. Bless you, Pastor Rodney, for extending the message to each one of us today.

Loved this scene where Jesus rebukes them and names them sons of thunder! He explains so well how we are to love all! Especially those who are enemies! It’s easy to share love to those we accept and love us, but it is a challenge to love those who don’t love us or believe in Jesus! How will they believe if we don’t show love instead of hate

To all the critics I say, if a show takes it upon itself to evangelise to the masses by depicting our Lord as fully God and fully man at the same time, preserving the sanctity of His Word and the unparalleled hope contained in the Gospel, and without yielding to the demands of the culturewe live in, it's a good show. If at the end of each episode folks come out falling more in love with Jesus, realising the enormity of our sin-nature and therefore the sheer gravity of the sacrificial love displayed by our Lord on the cross for an undeserving lot like us, it's a good show. Thankful to God for this show.

Season 2 , Son's of thunder! Such a powerful story, and teaching was so clarified , wonderful job to everyone! I really enjoyed that and it's perspective. As Jesus turned negative Passion to positive passion to use that energy for righteousness. Harness it for goodness sake. Correction in Love firm and direct yet loving and allowing them to reconsider there emotional passion to retaliate in kindness as other may be insulting and mean! Kindness and giving that negative action up to God. To keep at PEACE. Strengthen within. That's difficult at time yet with God's divine Grace all things is possible. So COOL! I believe that in all of my heart this is the essence of what God wants us all to be as it shows the 2 followers Jesus learned an extremely important and valuable lesson about how we are to be and act like.
It has been a few weeks since I watched The Chosen and the days since have been a bit mechanical and dull, so I watched how Jesus Called His disciples unto Himself. So, personal and full of love for those He assigns to His chosen 12. The contrast to Jesus in The Chosen....read the book of Ezekiel. Jesus is the same person in both settings.
By far, one of the most thoughtful commentaries and exhortations I have seen using this Series as a springboard.

What all he says may be fine and interesting, but let him make his own movie to back it up. Respect the footage and the creators and leave the story intact.
