Wow that hit me so hard. Peter - "Depart from me, I'm a sinful man". I've always been terrified of hearing " depart from me" but I only just realized that alot of my pain comes from me saying "Depart from me".
8:39 this scene gets me. it hits so close to home for me I suffered from Anxeity and panic attacks for 14 years. Probably over 100 ER visits I built up quite the medical debt. nothing could fix it. no Meds or therapy. then one day I was about to end my life but something in me cried out to Jesus and asked him to forgive me He fixed me over night. I woke up the next morning feeling like a completely different person. He did for me what nobody could do. I was finally able to leave the house again and run Errands without freaking out. I could walk around in public without feeling any pain in my chest. and he did it all for Me. a Sinner and I don't know how I could ever repay him. Jesus is real you guys. Do not ever doubt him He is the Truth. He is my Lord and Savior.
I've had a similar experience before and was changed in the blink of an eye, I've made many mistakes since then but it wasn't on the same level and there was things I didn't think anymore, things I didn't say or do. Jesus can do the unbelievable, and will forgive anyone who asks and follows His commands
I love it when Jesus says at the end of the clip, "All kinds of fish. I will sort them out later." As disciples of Jesus, we are called to offer all kinds of people the eternal life that Jesus brings. Every single one of them should have the opportunity to be saved. This is a commandment of love. It is not our job to sort people before or after and decide who is worthy and who is not. This is the work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and He will do it in His time. May I suggest a reinterpretation, perhaps the fish symbolize souls, without Jesus the net was empty, but at the word of the Lord that net was overflowing. "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19

Half if not most the people who sat around him back in his day, they were just after him to be fed with bread and fish, while some wanted to find a way against him. Maybe some turned up to listen, but at the start it wasn't that easy. Only until toward the end of his three year ministry did more and more consider him to be a prophet. We know Jesus is special because of our insider information accounting for the gospel. Eventually, people started to learn He was Son of Man, but even his own disciples then, didn't quit completely grasp how that meant for them.

I had a dream a few days ago that I was with Jesus on a hilltop with others. He came and placed his hand on my forehead. Immediately I fell to the ground and cried. He forgave my sins without saying anything and filled me with the holy spirit all in one small touch. I will never forget what that felt like. I can understand exactly how the disciples left their lives and followed him. When you get a small taste of the truth, it lights a fire inside of you. Praise Jesus! He is the ONLY way to our father.

Today's gospel reading at my church was from chapter 6 of John, where Jesus finishes teaching about how he is the bread of life and people have to eat his body and drink his blood and a whole bunch of disciples decide they're out on Jesus and leave. Jesus turns to the 12 and asks if they want to go as well because his teaching is "hard" and confusing, and Peter says, "To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Who knows what Jesus and the apostles actually looked like, but The Chosen has helped me picture scenes to understand the tensions in the biblical narrative and what living in faith looks like. Like Simon Peter's confused expression after Jesus's parable of the net, I often feel that I don't know what to make of some of what Jesus says. Even if I feel that I understand it I often don't know what to do with it. If there is one thing I think The Chosen showcases it is Jesus meets us when we're in the "I don't know" phase and He waits patiently for us to get there so he can teach us about grace.
Peter may have had his faults and at one point in the New Testament Jesus even refers to Peter as Satan. However at the end of the day when all is said and done it was Peter who walked closest with Jesus. When 3000 people were saved on the day of Pentecost after Jesus's resurrection it was Peter who got up to speak on that day.
I love just their expressions @6:08-Simon “hmm see, no fish” & @6:09-Jesus “hmm believe, you’ll see” so much is said without words, I love that!! How many times in our lives does Jesus give us that same look followed by “hmm….just have faith!” 💖💜💙💚💛🧡❤️💖
Simon Peter is so me. Sometimes I lose my faith, because of misfortunes and bad things happening around the world 😭 and returning to God, I feel so ashamed like him 😭 but after asking for forgiveness, little by little good things start to come by, like the miracles of what Simon have received from Jesus ❤️✨🙏
how often in the gospel did Christ tell us to lift our heads and gaze upon Him, everyone of us that have done that so far have met eyes calling us to repent and offering forgiveness paid for in His own blood. as much as i want the end to come, i still pray just a moment more for those who reject Him to change their final answer. Jesus is the solid rock i stand on and my final answer.
I've recently come back to the church and the scenes from this movie deserve full credit. I'm 35 and can finally say that I can't understand alot of it...but that's not my job. My job is to just believe. I'm here for it.

I've watched Season 1 and Season 2 several times and this is my favorite episode of them all. When Simon Peter falls to his knees saying he's sorry, I cry every time I watch that scene. It's as if I am there and feel exactly the way Simon Peter feels in His presence.
After 3 Seasons.... this scene is still my all time favorite. When Simon falls at Jesus' feet... I just lose it. 😭 He literally surrenders. It's just beautiful.
Just imagine how blessed all of Jesus' disciples were to even take a glimpse of Him, let alone see his works coming to life.. JUST INCREDIBLE and miraculous. What I love about the portrayal of Jesus in this show is that He kneels down with them or pulls people up by the hand to show that He genuinely cares about them. It's so beautiful and portrays God's undeniable Love for us all🙏❤️
I am lucky and I am blessed to find this video recommended to me on Ash Wednesday. I am a senior citizen who has heard and read this part of The Bible many times over the years...but seeing it here, truly magical. And the actor portraying Jesus is often how my imagination depicts him: not as a very handsome man but as a well spoken and gentle man.

In the Parable He explained that the good fish will be put in the barrel and the bad ones will be thrown away. To be saved is to be with Jesus Christ our King and to be thrown away is to go to the abyss. Let us all gather men as we spread the Holy Word of God to all mankind to save many for the Kingdom of God and let our Lord do the sorting of men as the Most High is the rightful Judge 🙏🔥

Brings tears to my eyes seeing this. I wish I could have lived back then to have seen him with my own eyes. But how thankful I am he loves me and sees after me. I often wondered what would I do if I to saw Jesus? Would I too hang my head in shame? No after much thought I know I wouldn't be able to contain my excitement. I'd forever be known as the man who tackled Jesus.

Jesus Christ healed me! This is my story about my healing!I was extremely ill! I had diabetes and kidney failure, which urgently requires dialysis! I prayed to God to heal me, not for me, because I don't deserve it, but for my little children, who were left without a mother! in exactly that day, in which I prayed, the Lord healed me! God pointed me to this scene during my quiet time. This scene is a reminder to bring problems to God and he will fix them. And it's also a reminder to be fishers of men.

@@houtbay9 you obviously have many questions about God and want answers, but you have to soften your heart a bit. Receive Jesus Christ as you Lord and saviour. Ask Him these questions, but not with sarcasm. Also ask christians, but remember that they are humans too, not God.
@@emaa2723 I once did receive JC as my lord and saviour. It was by far the biggest mistake I made in my life. I truly regret being fooled into it. Honestly, not only do I deeply regret it, but I actually feel *embarrassed and ashamed* being a sheep for decades.

I love that they made Jesus laugh and cry throughout the show. He's never really shown that way in other productions, as if it he weren't human with all the emotions that we have.
I had a dream a few days ago that I was with Jesus on a hilltop with others. He came and placed his hand on my forehead. Immediately I fell to the ground and cried. He forgave my sins without saying anything and filled me with the holy spirit all in one small touch. I will never forget what that felt like. I can understand exactly how the disciples left their lives and followed him. When you get a small taste of the truth, it lights a fire inside of you. Praise Jesus! He is the ONLY way to our father.

I cry every time i watch. The disciples were the luckiest to ever walk the planet
They were truly blessed, but remember the scripture, but more blessed are those who have not seen but have believed. Jesus was referring to us. I don't regard the disciples as the luckiest, I regard all of us who have never physically seen our Lord, but believe, because we are those who don't just believe because we see, but we believe because we have faith and trust in the Word. This is the greater gift, this gift of faith. In my humble estimation brother.
Today's gospel reading at my church was from chapter 6 of John, where Jesus finishes teaching about how he is the bread of life and people have to eat his body and drink his blood and a whole bunch of disciples decide they're out on Jesus and leave. Jesus turns to the 12 and asks if they want to go as well because his teaching is "hard" and confusing, and Peter says, "To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
Who knows what Jesus and the apostles actually looked like, but The Chosen has helped me picture scenes to understand the tensions in the biblical narrative and what living in faith looks like. Like Simon Peter's confused expression after Jesus's parable of the net, I often feel that I don't know what to make of some of what Jesus says. Even if I feel that I understand it I often don't know what to do with it. If there is one thing I think The Chosen showcases it is Jesus meets us when we're in the "I don't know" phase and He waits patiently for us to get there so he can teach us about grace.
Peter may have had his faults and at one point in the New Testament Jesus even refers to Peter as Satan. However at the end of the day when all is said and done it was Peter who walked closest with Jesus. When 3000 people were saved on the day of Pentecost after Jesus's resurrection it was Peter who got up to speak on that day.
I love just their expressions @6:08-Simon “hmm see, no fish” & @6:09-Jesus “hmm believe, you’ll see” so much is said without words, I love that!! How many times in our lives does Jesus give us that same look followed by “hmm….just have faith!”

Simon Peter is so me. Sometimes I lose my faith, because of misfortunes and bad things happening around the world 😭 and returning to God, I feel so ashamed like him 😭 but after asking for forgiveness, little by little good things start to come by, like the miracles of what Simon have received from Jesus ❤️✨🙏

how often in the gospel did Christ tell us to lift our heads and gaze upon Him, everyone of us that have done that so far have met eyes calling us to repent and offering forgiveness paid for in His own blood.

I've recently come back to the church and the scenes from this movie deserve full credit. I'm 35 and can finally say that I can't understand alot of it...but that's not my job. My job is to just believe. I'm here for it.
HE says in the Bible HE will pour out a blessing so big that our vessels won't be able to contain it, how true !!!!

I've watched Season 1 and Season 2 several times and this is my favorite episode of them all. When Simon Peter falls to his knees saying he's sorry, I cry every time I watch that scene. It's as if I am there and feel exactly the way Simon Peter feels in His presence.
After 3 Seasons.... this scene is still my all time favorite. When Simon falls at Jesus' feet... I just lose it. 😭 He literally surrenders. It's just beautiful.
It was wonderful watching the apostles struggle to bring the fish in. Just as they did later with all of Jesus' followers
3 people that he was teaching wear patient and stayed long enough to see the miracle
We live in similar times. The Romans are back. Much respect to the producers!

Just imagine how blessed all of Jesus' disciples were to even take a glimpse of Him, let alone see his works coming to life.. JUST INCREDIBLE and miraculous. What I love about the portrayal of Jesus in this show is that He kneels down with them or pulls people up by the hand to show that He genuinely cares about them. It's so beautiful and portrays God's undeniable Love for us all🙏❤️
I am lucky and I am blessed to find this video recommended to me on Ash Wednesday. I am a senior citizen who has heard and read this part of The Bible many times over the years...but seeing it here, truly magical. And the actor portraying Jesus is often how my imagination depicts him: not as a very handsome man but as a well spoken and gentle man.

Im in tears. In the end Jesus said to Peter “gather as many men as you can, all kinds, and I will sort them out later”. In the Parable He explained that the good fish will be put in the barrel and the bad ones will be thrown away.
To be saved is to be with Jesus Christ our King and to be thrown away is to go to the abyss. Let us all gather men as we spread the Holy Word of God to all mankind to save many for the Kingdom of God and let our Lord do the sorting of men as the Most High is the rightful Judge 🙏🔥

God should be above human morals, yet he still resorts to throw to the fire pit the "bad people". Such a wonderful and hopeful message!
Why? They will see God, they will be satisfied after working so hard to be honorable, righteous, and true. They will have a great reward in Heaven, they will be called children of God, they will be comforted in mourning, they will have a great reward in Heaven, they will inherit the Earth, and will live in the Kingdom of Heaven.
What are the requirements of this?
Those who mourn will be blessed
The Meek are blessed
The Peacemakers are blessed
Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness are blessed
Those who are persecuted for their righteousness are blessed,
The poor in spirit are blessed.
Blessed are those of pure heart
Blessed are the Merciful
So what do you think of the cursed who will be thrown into the pit? They will have to have led lives that are not merciful, not pure of heart, not peacemakers, and proud.
do you judge by human morals what an all seeing all knowing creator should do? Do you think that He who is in authority, who can see the mind and path of thoughts a Man will take, their reactions to disturbances, to disagreements, to annoyances, to sin, and still think that He who is in control cannot judge righteously? Do you think that the Lord, who saw the rampant evil that man was capable of, and the overflowing of injustice on Earth, would not fulfill his Word as per the words of the Prophets and of Moses? Do you think God is a liar? He has sent us the fulfillment, the promise of eternal life through the Teachings of a Man born in Spirit, who taught things of spirit, to teach men born of flesh, born of sin. You cannot understand because yet you see, you cannot comprehend. Yet you have ears, you cannot hear the message that is proclaimed. This is due to the hardness of Heart, your stubbornness and frankly, ignorance has a stigma but if I saw that I am entirely ignorant, than I can say, It takes one to see one. Mario Silva, I pray to the Lord, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that you read my comment and be filled with a lightening of Heart, an increase of understanding and Discipline like that of a mustard seed, so that Jesus, if He is willing, and I know He is, may send upon you the path, the steps, the seeds, and the proper fertile ground that is your mind, to understand the Beauty, the Harmony, the Clarity, the Mercy and forgiveness of the Peace that was granted to us, free of charge, with no other requirements other than “Forgive others their sins against you and you will be forgiven.”
The reason why those who are cast into fire are the same reason why the followers of Christ are blessed.

Brings tears to my eyes seeing this. I wish I could have lived back then to have seen him with my own eyes. But how thankful I am he loves me and sees after me. I often wondered what would I do if I to saw Jesus? Would I too hang my head in shame? No after much thought I know I wouldn't be able to contain my excitement. I'd forever be known as the man who tackled Jesus.
He is in the Blessed Sacrament... Go see Him, you only have to believe, and you'll see Him, just as He says...
I love Jesus Christ's sense of humor, and I am most certain we can see His sense of humor in our daily lives, giving us a smile, especially when things are tough. Of course, when we see His sense of humor, it's solidifies our belief in Him. Glory be to God.

Jesus Christ healed me! This is my story about my healing!I was extremely ill! I had diabetes and kidney failure, which urgently requires dialysis! I prayed to God to heal me, not for me, because I don't deserve it, but for my little children, who were left without a mother! in exactly that day, in which I prayed, the Lord healed me! I suddenly felt the pain in my kidneys go away, as well as the dryness in my mouth (diabetes). I'm a new women now! I thank the Lord for His mercy and love for us!!!!
I love Jesus in the Simon scene, I really do.
But respect to the portrayal of Simon’s wife too. It’s how people should be with one another; angry but patient and loving, point the direction to where others need to go to be healed and saved.
