"Don't be offended, don't be butthurt." Omg I love you guys 😂 👏🏽
This channel is so underrated.
8:57 the triangle in the Sharks logo refers to "The Red Triangle" which is triangle shaped region off the coast of Northern California. This region has a huge amount of marine life and 40% of all recorded great white shark attacks occur within this region. #Themoreyouknow.
That is brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing that! You learn something new every day :)
I thought it meant the 3 main cities on the bay area as a triangle being San fransisco on the top left corner, Oakland on the top right, and san jose at the bottom like it is geographically
You should rank team names
YA
Gaming With_Socks hello
Niebula and Gaming With Socks, Zelda's day out fan.
geometry johnson hey, third zelda's day out fan
Yes
Brent's a nice guy. Always enjoy watching him.
Ya
I agree
JASON'S TURN
The Arizona Coyotes logo is howling because it's missing Shane Doan hehe :)
LOL
thedude747 BREAKING NEWS HE RETIRED
It’s missing its fans
lol ikr
I love Brent dude. His voice is so relaxing
The three stars for Washington represent Maryland, Virginia, and DC.
I like that they have the word Capitals in lower case.
Finally a hockey channel who do all things Hockey ;)
10:00 the 17 white veins in the Maple Leafs' leaf refers to 1917, when the team was established. 13 of 17 are in the upper part of the logo, referring to their 13 Stanley Cup victories. #themoreyouknow
The penguin makes perfect sense for a game played on ice.
so you don't like the Canucks logo because it's "just a C" but the flames one is top 5, which is more of a plain C, just has flames on it. I do like the flames logo as well as the Canucks.
cauchamar and are regular Cs composed of whale bodies?
"Boston Browns" lmao. A Bruin is a word for a bear, particularly grizzlies. No hate tho, this video was great!
Maybe the shark triangle is a shark tooth
I hope Brent lives to be at least 100 years old and keeps entertaining us. Such an awesome guy.

The penguins name comes from the melon arena being called the igloo because the wife of the founder thought penguins were in igloos. Hockey fact of the day
Another hockey fact: the pittsburgh penguins triangle in the back of their logo represents the three rivers in pittsburgh creating a triangle
I heard it was a radio contest
The flag in the jackets logo is ohios state flag
8:53 it’s for the Bay Area I think. I don’t know though I’m not from California.
"Blue jacket" refers to Union soldiers from the American Civil War, and the flag wrapped around the star was modeled after the flags flown by Ohio cavalry during the war, which was also the inspiration for Ohio's state flag
Well Bruin just means bear in modern English. Also, Brown hasn't been one of the Bruins' official colors since tge '40s I think. After all, maple leaves aren't blue irl, yet their entire uniform is blue, so not everything has to match like that.
Everyone on this channel is awesome, keep doing what you guys are doing! These vids are great!
Every time I watch these I pray my team isn't last and it's ALWAYS in the middle lol
Go Wings
The Shark logo is based off the Penguin logo, he ate the Penguin... that might explain the triangle
The "B" in the Bruins logo represents the city of Boston and the serifs represent the spokes on a wheel and / or that all roads lead to Boston
The penguins logo looks like something a high-school kid would draw while bored in class.
They deserve better than that
Do another reading mean and nice comments video
Another thing I noticed with the Islanders logo is that the blue part of the "I" is their arena's former location on Long Island.
Kind of an old video, but figured I'd post this; I'm pretty sure that the helmet used on the Senators' logo is actually that of a Roman Praetorian Guard, which served as an escort force for Roman senators. It's actually pretty clever even if the picture isn't an actual Roman senator.
You guys are the best channel ever!!
Brent knows what he’s talking about. Very charming guy with a smart and relaxing way to speak.
Seriously with the amount of times Neil says "I Like Trains" how hasn't anything happened to you guys?! Lol
+JustinJusticeTV haha
My favorite hockey channel I love the whole crew they make lots of topics about hockey fun!
That fart sound effect was fantastic.
The reason why its gold and black is because they were the colors of Charles Adam's (the Bruins first owner) grocery chain. So it was basically for advertising.
The tip of the I in islanders is exactly where the old arena for the NYI was
i love brent
#BrentForCommissioner
Post2Post Oh hells yeah! Brent would be awesome!
The yellow triangle on the Penguins' logo symbolizes the Golden Triangle which is the triangular section of the downtown area formed by the three rivers. The "stretched out" letters on the Oilers' logo is supposed to convey an oil slick effect.
William Labadie I thought I'd be the the only one to state that about the Oilers logo. I also didn't know that about the Penguins logo, that's actually pretty clever.
As a Blue Jackets fan and season ticket holder, I appreciate you ranking our logo at #6. The name "Blue Jackets" comes from the American Civil War when the armies of the north wore blue uniforms, which were not only made in Columbus, but on the very site where Nationwide arena now stands. The logo itself is Ohio's state flag wrapped around a star. The flag forms a letter "C" for Columbus and the star represents that Columbus is the state capitol. I didn't like this logo at first, but over time it has grown on me. I really disliked the original logo.
Brent should be my History teacher
Brent is a legend.
Blue Jackets' logo is the Ohio state flag wrapped around a star. I think the star signifies Columbus as the capital of Ohio.
The symbolism is relevant to 'blue jackets' because the state of Ohio and the city of Columbus were heavily involved in the American civil war. The union army in that conflict wore blue jackets.
I'm a Blue Jackets fan and I really like the logo. I agree with your number 6 ranking, as I probably like around 5 teams' logos more.
I would say the top 5 for me are probably Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota, Winnipeg, and San Jose.
I think that Ottawa senators logo should be picture of praetorian soldier - personal guards of senators and caesar
I kinda gotta agree w Brent and where he put our logo. We're the Vancouver Canucks not the Vancouver Whales. We need the skate back. Now I just gotta find a hat to ship to you for Brent ; )
Just started watching your videos yesterday I live in Detroit I love it haha

Wild logo is at night. You can tell bc it has a shooting star
For the north stars
+Mark Borek I like the way you think, sir.
good job neil as a braves fan i salute you and your channels for the great work you do.
Nice to see the Rangers logo ranked so high. It's beauty is in it's simplicity, yet it's unique in that it's a shield instead of the typical circle design. Can't go wrong with the original 6 classics!
I really appreciate the discussion you had about the Blackhawks logo and other Native American logos. It was thorough and insightful, although I think the part resonating most with me was not making a cultural group into a mascot.
The Chicago Blackhawks has nothing too do with native Americans it is named after a division the oringal owners was in during World war 1
@@treerat7631 Ah yes, the famous Blackhawks logo has always depicted an American infantry division, which was of course completely originally nicknamed Black Hawk and not at all drawn from a Native American chief.
The new jets logo will be a classic
When a Canucks fan agrees with your ranking
The “I” in the Islanders logo points out the location of the Barclays Centre
The star in the Minnesota Wilds logo is a nod to the North Stars
And saying this definitely makes the Wild logo 1st for me
You guys should rank the current day teams, old logos. So if a team that is in the NHL today has an old logo, rank their old logos.
Agreed with you guys on the non-offensiveness of the blackhawk and other Native American associated logos. People blow that stuff way out of proportion. Even polls say most actual native americans are NOT offended by the logos (which are the only folk who could or should be offended by them in the first place.)
You and your father have such a cool relationship. It really highlights the connection hockey can be.
Minnesota WIld...the "Shooting Star" eye is a tip of the cap to the Minnesota North Stars.....
The Sharks logo is sweet...come on man....The triangle on the logo references the Bay Area's Red Triangle near the Pacific Ocean.
Have you guys realized that the A in the Avalanche logo could actually be a mountain and that stream of white that is going around it could be a Avalanche and a stream of a puck
The stars and stripes on the blue jackets is the ohio state flag. Not sure what it has to do with blue jackets though too
Sabres Fan1313 they're the blue jackets since Ohio was in the union in the civil war which wore blue jackets.
Their original logo with the CBJ was better imo
CRUSTYPIEMAN their original logo sucks, the current one is definitely better.
Columbus is in Ohio
Minnesota God No shit Sherlock.
I have never personally understood all the hate towards the Ottawa Senators logo, I love it. Maybe even top 5 for me. Love the video though keep it up guys.
I am from Minnesota and I always thought it was the moon because the North Star is next to it.
I wish the Avalanche always wore their third jerseys. In my opinion, that is the best logo ever, the jersey has awesome colors. Best jersey ever in my eyes.
This is 2 years old but the sharks triangle represents the Bay Area of San Fran, Oakland, and San Jose
Thanks for the comment! I'm actually not uploading content on this channel anymore, but I would love it if you could subscribe to my new channel Post2Post Productions where I am making more Hockey content! ua-cam.com/users/post2postproductions
Great video great channel to watch hockey talk. Keep it up.
I have to agree with Brent, I like the new Panthers logo better then the old one.
A comment about the Blue Jackets logo, where Brent said "I don't see what it has to do with Blue Jackets" -- the Blue Jackets name was selected as a celebration of Ohio's participation in the Civil War on the side of the Union, and the Blue Jackets worn by the union soldiers. The current logo is an Ohio state flag wrapped around a star. According to Wikipedia, but not fact checked further, the star represents the state capital building in Columbus.
The team's alternate logo (the cannon) and the old logos all have patriotic history celebrating Ohio and the Union as well, with the exception of the old alternate logo featuring Stinger, the large green hornet which is still used as the Blue Jackets' mascot, which has no patriotic significance at all as far as I can tell. The old main red logo reading CBJ, unbeknownst to me but according to Wikipedia, is a ribbon with 13 stars on it representing the 13 colonies.
As a Blue Jackets fan, I do like the current main logo, but I would prefer to see the Blue Jackets switch to their alternate jerseys from last year with the cannon on the front and with no red, just Navy and bright royal blue trim. Those were really cool and the couple of Blue Jackets jerseys I own show off the cannon instead of the main logo.
Some history on the sharks logo I got from TDI the penguin was skating by and then this shark comes out of nowhere and eats the penguin the triangle turns blue and the only thing left from the penguin is its stick split in half.
Brent ;( ;( ;( ;( ... You're Fired.
Real life penguins might not be that aggressive, but watch the Pittsburgh Penguins, that's a different story.
Brendan Strode eh kind of
I guess you could say that
The stars and stripes of the blue jackets logo is the flag of ohio, which was notable for having the most civil war soldiers of any state in the union, hence the name, "Blue Jackets".
Just discovered your channel. Love it. From Dundee, Scotland
I respect you, Mr. Brent. And I understand where you're coming from on the straight forwardness of the Capitals logo. But, just so you know, the three stars have a meaning. They stand for the three states/district that form the DMV: District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. This is where a majority of Capitals fans reside. Also, each plays a part in the history of the Capitals. Obviously, the games are played in DC at the (newly renamed) Capitals One Arena. But before it was at this location, they played out in Landover, Maryland at the Capitals Centre. Virginia is also important because they practice at Kettlers Capitals Iceplex in Arlington. And most of the players reside in Virginia. So, there is a bit more going on than just the "t" being shaped as a hockey stick. But once again, I do agree with the lack of originality. I actually like our alternate logo, the Weagle, a lot better. Keep up the awesome videos.
Thanks Erin! That's good intel on the meaning of the 3 stars. I like that. I love D.C. as well, by the way. My 2nd favorite place to visit (after NYC).
Brent Taylor you're welcome, sir. And thank you. I've lived here for two years. Moving closer to my favorite hockey team was just a perk. If you're ever back in the area during the season, you should pop by Kettlers for a practice. It's awesome to be up close and see them outside of the high intensity of a game.
I was thinkin it was 3 branches of government, thank you for the info
Post2post great video. Please do more history of NHL teams. I love learning more about teams in videos over reading wiki.
My top 5 would be:
1. Caps (secondary logo)
2. Blues
3. Anaheim
4. Vegas
5. Red Wings
Why do you always have the likes/dislikes off?

Vince Mahone they're right are you supporting while hating
3:18 as a history buff I'm super triggered rn that is NOT a "gladiator". It is a Roman Centurion. This Logo DOES make sense bc ancient rome had senators. P.s I'm not a sens fan but some people need to take a history lesson or 2😧.
Interesting fact about the Islanders logo; the point of the 'I' in Islanders point right to Uniondale, which is where Nassau Coliseum was located. Now that they have moved to Barclays in Brooklyn, the logo is geographically incorrect. Shit happens haha
Also, the stars and striped for the Blue Jackets is the Ohio flag
The triangle on the sharks logo is the bay area
Winnipeg Winnipeg Winnipeg rocks, Winnipeg wins and Winnipeg is my favourite team.
Mikayeel Bashar lol i totally forgot I made this comment until I saw your reply.
Hey Neil, during the NHL season, after every week, you and Brent should make a video watching and reacting to the highlights from the previous week.
Unfortunately we can't do that due to video copyright issues, sorry :(
Post2Post completely understandable. Didn't even think of that. Keep up the great work my dude!

Wow, thanks Neil for telling me that penguins poo on each other for living it's totally not weird or gross at all LMAO
Hey Neil. Just starting to get into your channel and I'm enjoying some of the videos quite a bit. You guys are very pleasant and easy to watch. Keep it up.
Thanks so much Ted!
Flyers logo is a flying P and an orange puck in the middle
this guy is great.
It worked I do like that your wearing Detroit Red Wings apparel
I know how you feel with Montreal in baseball. I'm from Georgia and I miss the Thrashers but still cheer the Jets.
Hey even if u don’t see this ps the three stars in the capitals logo is for the three stars on the Washington DC flag
you should do a video talking about your fantasy hockey rankings
Vegas has a spartan in their logo instead of a knight
the thing wrapping around the star in the blue jacket's logo is the ohio state flag
The sharks logo looks like he ate the Pittsburgh penguin logo and they took photo and turned it in to a logo
brent, youre not alone, i, too, am a huge fan of the newer panthers logo!
I love that new Florida logo
The 3 stars on the capitals logo are the 3 stars from the washington family crest wich was 3 red stars and 2 stripes
Thanks for the comment! I'm not uploading content on this channel anymore, but I would LOVE it if you could subscribe to my current channel ua-cam.com/users/post2postproductions where I am making Hockey content now! In fact, since I have stopped uploading on this channel I have created over 800 new videos on the new channel! See you there :)
Keep up the good work and here's a video idea: ranking all the Stanley cup champions from 2000 and later
The Senator logo is a Roman General, Roman Generals were members of the senate in Rome
+William Geddes the team was originally called the generals, then renamed to the Senators but we're commonly referred to as the Silver Seven. There is no known proof of why they are called the Senators, so although I'm not saying your wrong, I can't find any proof out there to verify your theory.
