I'll add my story. I was 39 when I realized it was time to pull the rest. I'd done flippers, and multiple partials. I'd had enough! My Prosthodontist immediately suggested implants with an implant bar to secure the dentures. Of course at the time I couldn't afford that so we pressed on with the dentures and adhesive creams. Fast forward to 46 years old and now we can afford a bit more. So we have our oral surgeon place eight implants with my dentist placing locaters in my existing dentures. That was 15 years ago and being young and having the added stability I broke every denture I had made for the next 15 years. At least 4 sets. Fast forward to today at 61 years old. At this point we're financially secure and we decided enough is enough. We invested 50 thousand dollars (over what we've already spent) and had four more implants placed and a set of screw in Zirconia prosthetics placed. Was it worth the wait? (Mind you, I was someone who adapted to dentures very well but broke them due to excessive force.) It was SO worth the wait. What I have now is the healthiest set of teeth I've ever had in my entire life including my childhood!!
Hi how did you get good lip support i hate upper denture i hope to get zgoma two in each cheek in my country we don't have implant centres as US what does it now feel like rid of awful denture they are horrible plastic nightmares to put up with
@Ricky Bobby, you have quite the trajectory with dentures n now implants. How did you manage to brake four sets of dentures? Was the material not as durable? I have always had bad teeth but everything went downhill at around age 48. Now in my late fifties, I decided to have them all extracted n wear dentures. The set I have makes my mouth protrude n I can't speak as clearly. I'm getting new dentures in the next few months. The cost was $15,000. They placed two screws in my lowers so the denture can attach better I asked my dentist about the Zirconia material and he said that if I was ready to pay at least 20,000 more he'd look into it. Do you know about cost? I am growing weary of dentures but for now can't spend another penny. I'm pleased for you that you no longer have to deal with breakage or adhesive... The 50,000 was well spent! 👍
@@linak7155 They were typical denture material which is acrylic. When used as dentures alone its ok since the force is never going to be that much and they will move (give). With implants the movement is limited and with better than average force they will break (crack and eventually break) I'm currently at 'All on 6' which is six implants upper and six implants lower. The prosthesis is made of Zircronia which is about as strong as Diamond and is fixed meaning I its screwed into each of the implants. Only my dentist can take them out. I hope this helps.
@@rickybobby7986thank you for ur reply, it helps but it also hurts! With dental work being what it is, I'll have no chance of ever affording that type of work. It's a real hassle until I think about George Washington's ivory teeth. Oy!
I was happy to vote for you. Who wouldn’t want to get them for free? I paid $49,000 and am not wealthy by a long shot. Your videos were so helpful to me in my journey to implants.
Do most places do financing? If so, do they charge interest? Do they do credit checks? My ex destroyed my credit and left me in a terrible place but I make lots of money and can make payments!
3 months ago I got 6 implants and 5 of them failed I had temporary teeth placed on the 5 implants that failed I grind and clench which made them fail. I got new bone grafts done and we are trying again in 3 months but until then I won’t have top teeth. My gag reflex is too sensitive for dentures I tired. I’ve been blessed to have parents who have the money to help otherwise I’d be toothless forever. It’s been a very hard emotionally for me I’m good for physical pain. I’m under 40 and it’s wild that this is happening to more younger women and ppl then I thought. Dental care needs to be more affordable period! Thank you for sharing your experience it’s helped me a lot get through everything. Thank you thank you.
I am a horrible clincher as well. I was sure mine would fail because of how bad I am. I found online, I think in the comments to one of her videos here, that you can get Botox for clenching! I called the dentist who was doing my implants and they had an office that specialized in Botox for anything that they worked with. I had zero idea that was a thing. I still have to wear the guards and stuff at night, but might be something to look into. I am so sorry you have to go through all this. The initial part isn’t fun, I can’t imagine doing it again, and not having teeth while you wait. If your dentist does t offer Botox, check at a Med spa type place and they will do it too. My primary dr offers Botox as well and she said she would do it if my dentist didn’t have anything. She said a lot of dentist didn’t know that was an option. Good luck hun! 💙
@@susanwright1931 thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely talk with them at my next appointment! I trust and know everything will work out I just need to keep my chin up! Thank for the support!
Kristi, you need apologize for nothing. The service you provide here with your channel--the education, the advocacy, the compassion, the advice, the humor and the plain good sense--has made my MY denture-to-implant journey (which is still in progress) worlds easier. And less frightening. You've created a community that welcomes us all, wherever we are in our treatments, and that's a gift. I really appreciate you and all you do, no matter your reasons for doing it. Thank you! :)
Totally agree. It's no one business how we to this in our collective lives. What does matter is that we support each other. Going into dentures is very difficult different. Reads like a Child's book. I don't give a hoot
I was 24-25 when I got my top teeth removed and removable denture up top. But I ended up taking them out and roughing up my gums and eating with nothing up top. And it didn’t bother me until I met my Husband now. We’ve been together for 3 years and he pointed out how I didn’t smile as much. And then my bottom teeth were horrible and kept getting worse. I knew I wouldn’t be able to function with a full set of removable dentures. And so did he. He knew I wasn’t going to wear them if I felt them slide around. I am 29 and he is 49. He pulled the money from his retirement despite me telling him I would suck it up. And to this day I’m still healing 3 weeks post op unloaded healing and I don’t know what I did to deserve this because I thought it was out of reach and then he did what he did. I’m so fortunate and I don’t take this for granted at all. And I want to say thank you for your videos! I didn’t know what to get to care for my teeth when I get them and thanks to your videos I got everything and it also helped put my mind at ease with everything.
Dude that’s crazy I am 26 currently and I got all my teeth pulled out on May 6 and May 5 of this year currently waiting to get my dentures this week to wear until I heal up how are you doing now? any updates?
Hi Kristi,I have worn dentures at 24/ yrs old,I had no choice for the cost of repairing my teeth.I hated them,This was back in 1968 and dentures were not that pretty. When I got to my 30’s I became so self conscious of my smile. So back to 15 yrs ago my husband remortgaged our house $70,000 I have bone grafts twice and finally had my implants. My life changed,no more stomach problem from not being able to eat properly.I found You Chanel a few years back and guess what my husband remortgaged our house again 😂😂Bless him.Found a new prostodonist here in Houston who said she can get me Ivaclar overdenture and my hybrid on my lower.I did have to have more bone grafts on top.I gave her a photo of my natural teeth at 17 yrs old. This took a year because Of some issues. My teeth look just like my natural teeth and my Ivaclar overdenture And hybrid look gorgeous.I feel complete again and love my smile.I am 73 yrs old and 35 yrs old in my head..Here is the thing that people have said about the money we have spent on my teeth......”You could buy a Lexus or a Mercedes car for that amount you spent............I drive a Honda,,,,,,,,,,,I don’t want a luxury car..............I want my life back and my smile again. My health has improved..............I am off my angziety medicine.I don’t have to worry about my teeth sliding around if we are at dinner with friends.Or what if I break a tooth on a denture.I would be a nervous wreck on things that could go wrong with dentures. What if I had surgery of something and they take my teeth out and possibly lose them while I am sedated.I was a real wack job do to me so vain on how I would look without my teeth. If I hadn’t found your Chanel I would have known about Ivaclar who manufacture such life like teeth.Want I want to say to people who get implants is to not leave your dentist office until you are shown how to keep your dental implants immaculate clean. My first Prostodonist never showed me every step and I lost 3 implants from not knowing all of the steps to keep my implants cleaned properly..Thank you Kristi for taking your time to be an advocate for dental implants and of course Ivaclar.♥️♥️♥️
I've had my dentures for 3 wks now. My DDS and I discussed implants and at this point I am a good candidate for them. He suggested we discuss this in more detail at my 6 month visit because healing should be complete by then. I would only need them on the bottom d/t bone loss. The uppers fit quite well. We shall see. I'm still adjustinng to having a mouthful of plastic. It's crazy having to relearn how to swallow your own saliva.
I have to add... Dear woman, where were you when I first considered dentures??? Probably in preschool or younger but still.... Your video is so informative, helpful and considerate!!!! I've just started following you for a short time and have been impressed, but this video was so SPOT ON! So true to life! DENTURES WORK! I lived with them for seven years and it was such an improvement from my rotten decayed natural teeth. There was no pain. There was a full mouth of teeth. Granted they weren't the most secure but with adhesives I got along just fine. Yes!!!! This video is SPOT ON! I wish you the most success as you truly bring a great message to those who not only need, but are hard pressed to find real discussions.
I am 65 and got extractions on my lower 3 days ago. I have been in a full upper denture for 5 yrs. I was just lucky enough to get a loan for implant supported dentures for the lower. I’m happy and will upgrade as finances permit. Maybe never but I’m ok with that. Wishing everyone success with whatever dental plans you may have.
Insurance depending on your carrier does cover implants, or at least they did for me. Insurance carriers are starting to now accept this type of coverage, the most important thing is to call and ask. Check with your carrier especially during open enrollment to see what options are available with upgraded coverage. I would have never known if I had not called, and asked by chance because I was unsure about the open enrollment options. Check different carriers and see what they have to offer, I use Delta Dental, that was the coverage we had for our dependents in the military, and when I retired that coverage switched to me also. I'm not even at the top tier coverage which there is one more. Research you options...
I just wanted to comment to thank you so much for your videos. On July 8, I got 17 teeth pulled and immediate dentures. I was so afraid of everything! If I hadn’t found your videos, I don’t think I would have ever gotten up the nerve to do it. I’m doing well with them and have finally learned to eat again. I haven’t had any problems at all and am looking forward to getting my permanents in January. Thank you again. ❤️❤️
I wore dentures for 10 years and have just got all on 5. I went today and did impressions for my permanents. I am still in my temporary till healed. But everything good to go 🙏
Found your channel today. I really appreciate these videos. You are awesome! Had my first root canal at 11 years old. I'm now 42. Hoping to have the G4 Implants in the next 6 mos
I had veneers, 15 years and of course they started to fail, so it’s 65 I did not want to have to wear dentures around 75, so I went out and found a doctor that I truly liked And got Titanium porcelain full upper, I got six implants To hold a full set of top, and I can’t tell you the smile I have and how beautiful they look
I was born with really little little teeth once my adult teeth grew in..l would throw up all the time whenever l had gallstones i finally got them out. My intire gallbladder then I was still throwing up all the time . My teeth were getting bad my doctors n dentist said if I didn't stop I won't have no teeth. I started Saving cans for 10 years .l hunted cans everywhere I went I picked them up. I had saved some of my money from work. If I wanted some new shoes pants what ever it was I would kim at the price tagged on the clothes shoes ex l wouldn't buy the clothes I would take that money n put it in a bucket n saved n saved . Then I seen you're videos about Dr Golpa in Las Vegas so I went n got my implants done thank you.
OMG I have scrolled looking for somebody saying anything positive about dentures. I'm having my top set done in October. And just NEEDED to hear someone who wasnt promoting Implants Implants Implants....I'm 52 I'm not bothered about the stigma. I just wanted to know about the dentures, the journey, what they look like and are they ok?? I FOUND YOU that's it. What a wonderful thing you do? Thanks. I'm from the UK. But it's all the same isnt it. X
Bluegrass Dentistry hooked me up for 32,000. They used the latest and greatest technology in making and placing the implants (upper and lower arch). Almost a month post opp and feel great! Dr. Chambers really showed me a high level of confidence in the procedure. Even this soon after surgery, I'm pretty sure I made the right decision. I had the teeth removed and implants installed same day.
I just got all my teeth pulled what's left of the upper and my lowers a week and half a week ago. Same day I got my screws put in same day. The new day I got my first set of teeth in. They had to uncover 2 of the screws that got healed over by tissue. I'm right on track for healing. So far I'm feeling better about myself. I'm glad I went straight to implants.
I'd give anything to have teeth like yours . I'm 53 and have so much trouble with dentures. I'd love all on 4s but I can't afford even better fitting dentures.
I am going to need to save for 15 months in order to get better set of dentures. I haven’t had my extractions yet. Etsy has dentures they send impression kit. I do it myself at home and send it back. They charge $100 per arch so for $200 I can have full set.Anything is better than my teeth now. I am so sorry and wished that I could help you get what you need.
I’m curious. You said you get your dentures made through Etsy but you haven’t had your extractions yet? How do you wear dentures if you still have your own teeth?
Thank u 4 your videos u help me make the choice to get dentures I been following u 4 over 2 years an I'm glad I had some one like u to show me that it's ok 2 get dentures at 35 u have been a blessing ive had dentures 4 months an it made my day to smile an I hope one day I can get inplants 2 may God bless u 2
you have been an inspiration to me n many I have just recently found you and thank God all the other videos were straight out of getting them and their unhappiness and with your long line of videos and the process plus your great attitude it has encouraged me to get it done and i am older than most the younger generation posting vids on this. all I know is now I am looking forward to taking the leap of getting my first set this Friday and can't wait to be able to go into public again without feeling ashamed of my teeth I have now. anything is better than what I have atm thanks again for the positivity and encouragement, a good attitude is important on any challenges we might face
Got the all on 4 implants done on upper mouth 2 years ago during Covid no problems except getting adjusted to having them a year later I went for the bottom and one got infected thus a year of healing and getting two implants replaced. Going tomorrow to either get my abutments fingers crossed, and I too was extremely lucky to have someone fund my all on 4 bcus I couldn’t adjust to the dentures.
@@ffdawg25 I have 5 implants for a hybrid bridge. Mine were done at the University of Buffalo school of Dentistry. They were a third cheaper than a private dentist. I had gratuate students that were training for their advanced degrees in prosodontics and oral surgery. They are totally supervised throughout treatment by experienced doctors. It takes longer but well worth it because not only state of the art equipment you don't have to worry that you could be charged for inferior work. There are dentists that aren't trained well doing implants so be aware of that. Many people have thrown away money on a terrible treatment.
You are so sweet to do this for all of us. ❤ I’m 70 years old and getting mine done. The price has gone down. Mine are costing $33,000. Six bottom six top.
@@gloryBE-o1w I already have a new SUV 2024 Chevrolet Traverse it was way more the $60,000. I live at the beach by the water. Thanks for your concern
Thanks for this! I go tho Friday for all on 6 on my top and I’m so nervous but so ready to get my life back! It’s been horrible last 7 years!!! Finally my life will change this Friday!!! I’m so scared and nervous though 😬
Without you I wouldn't have courage to visit dentist to remove infected teeth. 8months in now ready for perms. My dentist has asked me to think about how I would like my new smile. Any tips for denture to look natural also improve area around mouth lips etc . Dentist said its alot to do with facial muscles. I can't afford implants so decided best denture I can afford. Told my dentist without your channel I wouldn't have information to ask questions . Thank you sooo much. xx
I'm a single mom of two daughters. I had a heart attack 39 and got a Pace Maker its just something that happened, one day. The heart meds ruined my teeth, so I now need dentures. Your videos help me so much.
I am in the process of implants. E DAY was April 25 , 2022. I had 5 bottom implants placed at that surgery. I had immediate top and bottom dentures placed the day of surgery. 3 weeks after first surgery I got a temp bottom full acrylic arch screwed into the implants. This was a game changer and has made eating (soft foods ) and speaking so much easier. 4 weeks from today I will get my 6 upper implants placed and then 3 weeks after that I will get my final top and bottom arches screwed in to my jaw. It has been a process, the reality of it has been much more extensive than I anticipated but worth it so far. The oral surgeon/dentist and the whole team have been amazing. In about 7 weeks I should be completely done. Still will need to wait several months to let the implants Integrate into the bone before can eat the steaks and bite into an Apple.
Just subscribed today, 5 - 1 - 2023. Your voice in this matter is very appreciated. Got bone loss, have had T.M.J. surgery and it made things much worse, that with rotten teeth and trying to survive on Disability income is a major challenge. Cross bite. No condyle on left side, only insurance is Medicare. I feel like I'm not ever going to get all my dental needs met. Currently freaking out about it. However, I will not give up. Sometimes I really want to though
Hi Larry Goodman, I like you didn’t have any money. So I Googled low income dental care for adults. The state and town I live in. You pay based on your income. I have had one tooth pulled lots more to go. You also could Google dentists that see patients on sliding scale. Sometimes they charge inexpensive flat rate. The most important thing is you get the teeth pulled. Because I was in no pain the infection had spread to the bone in my jaw. I was really lucky it didn’t kill me. Once something like that happens it affects the neighboring teeth. I have three that are infected now that need to be pulled. Your life is irreplaceable teeth can be figured out later. I hope you feel pain free very soon.
In the Netherlands dentures is free of cost . The basic health insurance about 180 euros every month included this even implants . Even rebase reline . Also removing teeth.
No way can I get all my teeth pulled out at once in one day. Hell to the no. I had four wisdom teeth out at once when I was younger & it was horrible. I had one molar tooth / root canaled & crown cracked removed in three parts & bleeding from morning until 8pm at night. Your teeth look amazing, so glad you like them 😊 Beautiful eyes. Love the decor of your bedroom 🥰
I was born with soft teeth. As a teenager I was told I'd have dentures by 25 years of age. I made it to 49 . In 2020 I ended up going to a school in San Diego for free implants and I wish I had never done that. They removed all my teeth and placed 12 implants. All 12 failed. I wasn't able to eat solid food for two years, until this past October. I lost over 100# I look like a skeleton now. I had a heart attack in April of 2022 because of malnutrition. Currently I'm trying to save the $45000 to have implants again. I'm sick now and afraid I won't ever make it to the point I'll be able to eat again. But I'm doing my best. Thank you for posting theses videos
I had my consultation yesterday. So just dentures were $3800, then they explained overdentures or "Click in" dentures supported by implants and what I chose to get. The All on 4 was $20,000 per arch. But snap-in was just $20,053 with 8 posts. I am drawing the money from my 401k and will begin my procedure next month...Just worried about the swelling and pain the first few weeks after the implants are put in. Hopefully, they will give me some pain medication so I can at least sleep and be comfortable during the first few days..
I just found your site and was watching your videos on dentures and was highly informed on what an individual gives thru. I’ve had two implants in with the thought of getting all on 4. One of the healing caps has fallen out, and am going back to have it reinserted. They will cut the gum line insert the cap back in and sew it up to heal, ( again). I had two bridges that eventually failed after 30 years doing their job. I had all the top remaining teeth removed and a top denture was made. This ongoing saga has included , bone grafting, and a sinus lift. Long story short, I have a top denture, and will have two healing caps, that are not going to be used. I will make the best of having this new way of eating, 😮. After hearing you have implants I immediately thought WTF? But I’m sure that given the opportunity to have dentures “paid for”, the lineup would be endless. Good luck with them.
I hate the stigma. I was fortunate enough to be able to afford implants. I didn't have " bad oral health". I have Lupus. The meds caused me to lose enamel and my teeth were super sensitive and would break. I am so upset dental health is not viewed as important! You lose an arm, insurance will cover prosthetic. Lose teeth and it's cosmetic!!!! We must do better. I joke and say I have the equivalent of a new Toyota Camry in my mouth.
Dental surgeon told me I had great bone structure and condition and thankfully recommended the two smaller ‘snap-in’ implants at the lower front, placed ON the day of the full extraction, and a removable for up top. Still getting used to the upper - it fits well but looser as the bone shrinks, necessitating Fixodent Plus already (no relines yet, but maybe later), and I barely use the bottom one because it’s just too loose and wobbly. Plus, I know I’ll be replacing the immediate with something more permanent eventually, and the bottom will snap in by then (hopefully) and I’m hoping I can then start the adjustment to a full set, because right now there’s no point since I can’t do much with both in, but can do a lot with just the top denture and bottom gums, including eat, be seen in public, smile, etc. The process is different for everyone, I’m sure, but overall it’s been preferable to having a mouth full of teeth broken off at the gum line!
Thank you. I am at a place where I finally NEED to do something and your videos have been a starting point for me. You are providing a great service to me, and many others I can see. I hope to find some nearby providers in the Ocala area. Thank you again.
I was blessed to have money in my 401K; which I took out what I needed to get implants the day they pulled my teeth. It was the bone loss that I watched others go through that pushed me to do whatever I had to do in order to get them. I’m still in my temporary dentures for a few more months, then I will have my permanent that will snap in. Best decision I ever made; and the cost over the years in all the dental work I had done was more than the implants. So, going forward, I’m saving my bone and money.
I'm 32 and I got dentures my dentist told me that they can use my dentures and put screws in my gums for the implants some excited about that❤❤ and I love your videos on how to take care of dentures only had my for 3 months
I'm getting my surgery for all on six dental implants tomorrow.. super excited although I'm definitely stressing. I going to be needing bone grafts and I'm on my own so I'll be awake for it..
Wow your so blessed to be able to get new teeth im literally a prisoner in my own home because of my teeth I can’t afford to get anything done accept for pulling them all out and be 32 with no teeth and I refuse to do that I still wear a mask if I have to come out in public wow I wish I was blessed like you 😢
@Hazeleyez923 You are going to have do something else. I didn't have any money either. My husband has dementia. I am his caregiver. I Googled low income dental care. Along with the town I live in. They charge based on income so bad teeth are being pulled. Dentures are expensive so getting them from dentist. Is not happening. I found some on Etsy. That are already made I can do soft realign myself at home. For $320 still lot of money. Within year or so I will have my dentures. If you leave those bad teeth in your mouth. The infection can go to your heart or brain. Which is life threatening. Please get it taken care of. I am lots older then you are. So maybe it is easier for me to accept. That the reality is my days of having teeth that don't come out at night are over. That if I don't have them pulled I would be risking my life. Teeth can be replaced your life can't be replaced. Find dentist and get the teeth pulled.
I was watching your videos when I was told I needed full dentures because my bottom teeth had to be pulled. Boy I panicked. I had virtually no money but wanted to find another option to keep the top teeth and get a bottom arch with implants. The price for the work I would need was too much in the US. I looked into dental work outside of the u.s. I am in southern California and found a place 4 hr drive from my home in Mexico called Los Algodones. Long story short, I ended up getting the work done there after a lot of research. It is referred to as Molar City. Catering to American retirees mostly but not all. Here is a list of what I had done there. Had 8 implants, full zirconia arch for bottom, five bone graphs, 8 teeth pulled, one root canal, a procedure called an aleoplasty to even out the jaw bone for a level surface for the arch. Plus had my top crowns and 2 bridges, 12 teeth in all, replaced with new crowns. The total of all that work was $19000. It would have cost me about $70,000 here. No exaggeration here at all. My sister paid for half or I would have had to finance some how. Crazy. 5 year guarantee on all work too.
Thank you so much for this video I didn't understand about the bone loss aspect I was scared and anexity really sets off my gag reflex. I have heard stories like that too where they get them at a young age. I am 28 years old and will be getting full top dentures only my bottoms arent getting taken but they possibly need a couple fillings and couple crowns. I think my plan is the same as yours. My wife and I are going to try our best to save. I am happy to hear that the starting with dentures isn't going to stop me from trying to get implants. My biggest fear was not being able to use them due to bone loss. I never cared how I look as a guy but I know it's fueled my depression and hurt me. Preventing me from wanting to go through with it. It's case by case. The more I know the more it helps me calm down. I am going to be getting my top teeth removed next week July 25th. I wont lie I been crying pretty bad. Worried sick with all the possible things that could happen. I had no idea it was a could thing I thought it was garenteed to happen and forced to get implants anyway. If I can last at least 5 to 6 years I can get the money saved up. I can even borrow it by then. The idea of oral surgery to get it done terrifies me too cause I never done surgery. Bless you for this video and answering so many questions. Theres so much misinformation out there that just scares away people from even trying. I know I feel so much better knowing that I have time. I will be making sure they keep a close eye on my upper jaw bone so I don't lose top much before I can get implants
I never knew about the bone loss thing I knew that the bone shrinks. But I knew I would have to get dentures sooner or later. But years ago I told the dentist I was going to I wanted to look into getting implants. They said I was too young I told them I didn’t care and I still don’t care because I never took really good care of my teeth to begin with. Now I’m getting implants and I have my rods put in on top and on the bottom. I go back to my dentist next month for impressions then in September I get my snap in dentures. But I more than likely could’ve went without teeth because I ate just about whatever I wanted when I had teeth.
I’m getting 4 in 1 implants tomorrow on my bottom . I need to extract 4-5 bottom teeth for their no good. Upper is full deny. For lower income due to lupus & other health issues. Getting 4 in 1 implants means a lot financially and mentally. Sounds bad but wearing the mask for few years hid my teeth at least to the ppl in front of me but. I really am excited and scared. Im getting bone grafts and be awake too . Im so scared , nervous but excited. Please wish me luck please PS if I can do it you all can definitely do so ! I still need fill upper one but that’s another story
here's the plan: get dentures---> feel confident again! smile, live, make money-----> make a career or a small business-----> get implements what matters is to take the first move! i was regretting the dentures, until i realised that i was wasting my life with isolating myself and waiting for a miracle to heppen!! i knew i have the potential to afford a better life for myself but i was lacking confidence so i got rid of the first obstacle in my life with the cheapest way possible which was having a cheap denture, now i'm able to go outside and work on a tech company, and nobody noticed my dentures no one even cares!! now i have enough money to save my facial bones 😅 it wasn't easy but it was as simple as that!! just start with what you have now and make it happen in the future
I don’t have mine yet. Got get the rest pulled. If I save some money in 15 months I will be able to get better set. My husband is disabled and was diagnosed in December with the beginning stage of dementia. He is doing really well. But he does have times where he gets disoriented and forgets where he is and who he is. So I can’t leave him alone so I can’t go back to work. We live on his small pension from the Navy little disability from the VA. We are able to pay our rent and utilities buy groceries. So I know that I have to get the dentures that we can afford. It is just my first set and my teeth now are in lousy condition. My new teeth will be in good condition. I can smile and laugh no more infections. Sounds great too me.
Did your implants change your voice at all? I’m in a very similar position than you, oddly similar, but music is so important to me and I want to be able to sing the same don’t care so much about speaking but sing. Also , married, but can you feel when you kiss? I can’t find these answers anywhere.
Excellent video...I had soft Reline yesterday..but couldn't do boottom...I still don't know why...I'm allergic to the adhesives in tube....but still thankful for a smile...it's on going still going to another dds to get whiter teeth..the teeth I have are but great...but they are not white they are medicaid teeth..I call them...my teeth were always very white...
I worked my butt off for a job where i could build up enough of a annuity then took 6 months off work so i could claim a hardship and pulled out enough money to get dental implants and a new set of golf clubs. So far im pretty happy with this decision. At least my dental implants work like i planned.
Being young and losing all your teeth I would think is bone loss as a person ages over time say a lifetime would effect the fit of their dentures.Looking at implants at a total out of pocket dentures funded by family.Got to have bone block grafts with implants.Go to consultation tomorrow for price on implants on lower.Yes this is medically needed for both mental health and physically and the sooner insurance companies and the medical health industry realizes this the better. The mouth is a part of the body and it’s no different than any other part of the body.At least being denied for preexisting conditions is a thing of the past thankfully or I’d never gotten my brain surgery for a unruptured large brain aneurysm discovered after a bicycle accident.Got insurance and it’s been repaired since but can’t imagine living the rest of my life in fear I could die any day at any time if it ruptured
Danielle's denture diaries......you tube She is wonderful ! we are the lucky few to have implants ! i will look forward to your future thoughts, thank you KJ. bob
My question is how can one have implants put in after years of not having any teeth in place to prevent the bone loss. Especially on the lower jaw. How do get around the nerve that runs along the top of the lower jaw once bone loss is prevalent. My understanding is if that nerve is severed or damaged in any way you would have a droopy jaw like a stroke victim.
I lost 2 front teeth in the past 5 months. The first one I lost was due to a massive cyst I had above the tooth. It was the size of a golf ball. I lost a good amount of jaw bone and into my right nostril. Luckily the oral surgeon removed it and it was benign. He filled the area with a massive amount of bone graft. It has been healing good so far, but above the removed tooth there is still a cave were the bone and gum has yet to grow into. He said it could take at least 2 years. It has been 5 months. Beside that tooth is my front tooth (crown) which is hanging on, but has a little wiggle. The other front tooth (#9) was a crown and it broke off eating a cracker, it freaked the heck out of me. I panicked for a week until I see the dentist, then referred me to the oral surgeon for extraction and bone graft. I'm worried about the cost of an implant as that is the goal. The extraction, bone graft and general anesthesia cost me $2.5K! How much is a single implant gonna cost? Searches do not mention a price, they just want to do a consultation. sigh... I currently have a front tooth and 2 gaps on each side. I look terrible. I can't afford a partial or a flipper.
I never needed dental care until I went to an unethical dentist who fit me in with 1 broken tooth & pulled all my top teeth & gave me an extremely large denture to deal with. I now have implants by mortgaging my house & that mortgage is paid off but I recently had to borrow $9,000 for a new set of teeth to go on the implants. Every dentist wants to pull my bottom teeth but I won't let them because they are fine, they don't hurt, I am missing 1 in back on bottom from an infection but my bottom teeth are fine. My top teeth are such a heavy expense that I don't even have them cleaned, I just clean & whiten my bottom teeth myself. I am 61 years old & I buried both of my parents without them ever having even a partial, they both had their natural teeth still when I buried them. What I am saying here is this is why I became desperate to have implants & most likely if you have bad teeth & need dentures that one or more of your family elders already has dentures & genetics are involved in things like bone loss & you can gain personal wisdom that way as well as letting an old person vent on their experience.
I just came across your channel and I was wondering how your natural teeth got so bad at an early age. Normally I wouldn’t ask such a question but since you’re so open about your dentures I’m taking the chance.
I have been watching your videos for a few months now. I had a total mouth extraction in March. I got my dentures in August. I'm just so discouraged. I can not eat, no matter how secure I put them in. I'm using 2 to 3 types of adhesive to keep them in while i eat.....does not work. Unfortunately im on medicaid and medicare....so i only get what I get....but I have no idea how to resolve this issue....if I could I would get the snap in's. I think those would resolve my issue at the cheaper rate. If you have any idea's please let me know, im at a loss, and spending more time without my dentures, than with....
Are your prosthesis's Zirconia or PMMA? They do look beautiful. I can't decide if I should save $10000 going with the lesser quality. Mahalo from Maui.
So I'm in the last stages of getting my end denture 44 yrs old mind you. My lowers are got to be implant anchored idk if I could go through the extreme pain involved in getting the 2 implants placed and the inbutmemets ( I doubt I spelled that right) changed I do believe I'll stay with dentures
thank you so much for your videos. im 45 and getting dentures within the next 6 months. i wanted 4 on four and my awesome dentist who is a top specialist in FL would have given me a great deal on them but an xray showed i have too much bone loss from missing teeth in the back / top for years so id need a bone graph which can take a year to work / complete. Its a lot of money and not guaranteed that it will take and very painful. im opting to just get regular dentures due to this. i was just wondering if your mom's dentist said she would need a bone graph if she wanted implants on the bottom.
Did you get titanium or ceramic implants? I need a full upper and decided on ceramic implants after doing my research. A full arch can be had for $8-10K in Tiajuana depending on whether you need an all-on-4 or all-on-6.
I'm getting dental implants so that I can eat and drink a wide variety of food and drinks. I want to be able to chew down on celery without dealing with the anxiety of my teeth popping out.
I am going to have to get at least hybrids on the bottoms. The oral surgeon failed to inform me I wouldn't have enough bone left to keep lowers in. I use the strongest glue and still they pop out through ONE meal. At this point they are just cosmetic and utterly useless for eating. I would clarify yourbottoms will be functional before pulling them all. They should have left a few lower teeth as anchors. I got screwed big time
Glad that you will continue supporting denture wearers as us retirees probably won't leap into "snap ins" or implants . I'm 71 and in good condition now ;but you never know.
I have an important question, I hope you will answer. I have a dental bridge (teeth loss as a teenager from a drunk driving accident). And I want to get implants. I want to try my best to explain one major reason why and you would know better than anyone the answer to this. I feel this bridge creates a projection/protrusion in my upper lip /phylum area (its upper teeth) I want my teeth to be more flush with my gums. Wouldnt this affect a persons appearance? There is a ledge there between the teeth and gum --several mms beyond the gum area. Woulndt implants help correct this? Also, I did meet with a great dentist who thinks it will help and the price was not $50k but about $30k...Im thinking this is a decent price. Well, Id love it if you can answer this question on upper lip/phylum protrusion ..thank you!
Hi! I’ve been binge watching your videos and it’s given me so much insight into life with implants. If you don’t mind, could you explain if alcohol is something that needs to be avoided with implants? I’m pretty young so I don’t want to halt my social life yet with this new change in my life
You’re such an asset to the denture-wearing community. We’re grateful for your responses and feedback in the comment section.
thank you so much for the thoughtful comment!
Hi how did you get good lip support i hate upper denture i hope to get zgoma two in each cheek in my country we don't have implant centres as US what does it now feel like rid of awful denture they are horrible plastic nightmares to put up with
Thank You for sharing your story!
Her implants is also called hybrid teeth. denture with posts and screws.
Do most places do financing? If so, do they charge interest? Do they do credit checks? My ex destroyed my credit and left me in a terrible place but I make lots of money and can make payments!
I paid 56000
How did your doctor harvest the bone?
I had implants done at least 7 times, only the overseas one lasted, and the rest failed, be wise some dentists are shady
Sugar, processed foods, lack of good oral care including 6 monthly deep clean to rid bacteria..Take your pic
Thank you! :)
She is making fool people there is no any evidence off bone loss in any book
I wish there were still dental smile makeover competitions! I recently got dentures but can’t afford implants
I’m getting top dentures. Then implants 4 on one. I am so nervous about the entire situation but it is what it is. Thank you for your comment.
I would luv to get implants. You were blessed by winning a contest Congrats! No apologies necessary. Thank you for all your knowledgeable information!
So you are doing drugs since you were a sperm
If you have dentures, or implants, do you get bad breath? Would someone notice if you kissed them?
I am 65 and got extractions on my lower 3 days ago. I have been in a full upper denture for 5 yrs. I was just lucky enough to get a loan for implant supported dentures for the lower. I’m happy and will upgrade as finances permit. Maybe never but I’m ok with that. Wishing everyone success with whatever dental plans you may have.
I hear people wanting to upgrade I'm getting overdenture kinda worried now
I am with you and most of your subscribers in hoping that the Dental insurance Industry will soon include implants in their coverage.
Hey I just got all my teeth pulled out three weeks ago any tips or any updates on your situation? #ImplantGang:D
I am so happy for you. You don’t owe anyone any explanations. I love your channel. You have reassured me that wearing dentures is possible.
Yours is an amazing story.
My pops was one of those. Had a full set of dentures since age 17 and never complained about it. He was 82 when he passed in 2020.

I just love and appreciate your realness and honesty! You don’t put on any heirs, you tell it like it is and I really like that about you.👍
Got the all on 4 implants done on upper mouth 2 years ago during Covid no problems except getting adjusted to having them a year later I went for the bottom and one got infected thus a year of healing and getting two implants replaced. Going tomorrow to either get my abutments fingers crossed, and I too was extremely lucky to have someone fund my all on 4 bcus I couldn’t adjust to the dentures.

I'm in upstate NY and you are correct I just had mine out I hope someday that I can get them, but man are they a lot of money here.

I'm a single mom of two daughters. I had a heart attack 39 and got a Pace Maker its just something that happened, one day. The heart meds ruined my teeth, so I now need dentures. Your videos help me so much.
My meds ruined mine too.
That's heartbreaking. I hate big pharma.
I am so sorry. I hope you get your smile back soon. You have been through so much.

Last December I got a full upper crown on 10 implants. People think they don’t have enough bone for implants but Apollonia can make miracles!!!
You're 100% correct in every word you said here ! Thank you !
Prayers
I had my consultation yesterday. So just dentures were $3800, then they explained overdentures or "Click in" dentures supported by implants and what I chose to get. The All on 4 was $20,000 per arch. But snap-in was just $20,053 with 8 posts. I am drawing the money from my 401k and will begin my procedure next month...Just worried about the swelling and pain the first few weeks after the implants are put in. Hopefully, they will give me some pain medication so I can at least sleep and be comfortable during the first few days..
How are you doing now? What’s your feedback on these
I am right there now and I know I need exactly this. 🙏
Easy to say
My sister is going through a similar situation. Be blessed😊
I have lupus too, how were you able to afford it? If you don’t mind me asking?
exactly! never understand why its considered cosmetic
Insurance doesn't cover a prosthetic anything that's not true.
I’m in the process of getting one implant and appreciate your input
You are doing a wonderful service and I'm glad you won the contest.
I am consu, ting with this clinic. Do you recommend Los Algodones?
Please wish me luck please
PS if I can do it you all can definitely do so ! I still need fill upper one but that’s another story
It is very important to talk about implants. In Brazil, they are cheaper. Today, around U$5,122.00.
Thank you for sharing your story
here's the plan: get dentures---> feel confident again! smile, live, make money-----> make a career or a small business-----> get implements
what matters is to take the first move! i was regretting the dentures, until i realised that i was wasting my life with isolating myself and waiting for a miracle to heppen!! i knew i have the potential to afford a better life for myself but i was lacking confidence so i got rid of the first obstacle in my life with the cheapest way possible which was having a cheap denture, now i'm able to go outside and work on a tech company, and nobody noticed my dentures no one even cares!! now i have enough money to save my facial bones 😅 it wasn't easy but it was as simple as that!! just start with what you have now and make it happen in the future
Isn’t it crazy how much teeth impacts your confidence and ability to be successful? Did you get your dentures?
So inspiring,i was born any teeth and wearing dentures since i was born
Did your implants change your voice at all? I’m in a very similar position than you, oddly similar, but music is so important to me and I want to be able to sing the same don’t care so much about speaking but sing. Also , married, but can you feel when you kiss? I can’t find these answers anywhere.
Hell I don't blame you if the opportunity ever comes about I'd do the same thing
Where did you have your implants done..?? You are obviously happy with the results.
Can you tell me..? please..
Thank’s for your insights.Important info.
Bravo. Happy for you. Did you get mini implants? Did not know you still get bone loss if you ware them daily.
Gurl. I’ve been following you since the beginning. 💕💖💐
Thanks Anna! 🥹♥️
Go online Google DYI dentures you can make until you get this figured out
Thank you for sharing your inspirational stories.. really help me a lots..🥰
I follow you since the begini g with denture very interisting thankyou...from morocco
What do you know about stem cell shots to regrow your teeth?
I didn’t see the thumbnail pic in the video, or did I miss it ? Would have been nice to see the before and after
It`s expensive to get ,but in Sweden goverment pay 85% of the cost thats goes over 1500 usd, so it get way cheaper here
Thank you. Who did your implants?
Cheers im officially going to be upset for the rest of my life with this useful information.
Do you have the all on 4 implants or is it each tooth is supported by an implant. Thank you.
Ok, how did learn of the contest?
How much does it cost for the dentist to take your denture out to clean it?
I do wish I could afford implants but live on a fixed income. But I'm so miserable with dentures.
Bless your heart, I am also in the same place as you are. There has got to be an answer and I'm trusting the Lord to make a way for me
I know dentures don’t work for everyone. I wished they were more implants were more affordable for people like you. I am so very sorry.
Can a person get a denture that looks like your implants , they are nice and look real, what is the name and color of them
implants fail alot....my friend still has bone loss after implants,,,they might have to take them out
Hi! I’ve been binge watching your videos and it’s given me so much insight into life with implants. If you don’t mind, could you explain if alcohol is something that needs to be avoided with implants? I’m pretty young so I don’t want to halt my social life yet with this new change in my life
