Im curious, how many of you own either or both of these reels?
THE REEL TEST I own a Royale Legend Elite in the 5.1:1, I prefer to use it over my Revo X, I’ve been eyeing off the Piscifun Phantom for quite a while now, I may bite the bullet.

I had the phantom for a couple days before i sent it back.. it made a HORRIBLE sound while casting.. i do have a kastking assassin that im pretty fond of though.
Brett Spears the Royale Legend Elite feels smoother than the Revo X in everyway but personally the palming gets too uncomfortable after about 30 minutes for me
I have both and here’s my experience...on the water the royal legend seems a lot easier to adjust jumping between different lure weights and in adverse conditions...wind etc. Royal legend elite is easier to get dialed in initially and when changing lures. I think the legend feels smoother and better built. I don’t mind the missing extra 10 feet on the cast and whose kidding who what kind of a hook set are you gonna get at 167 feet out. Just move the boat a little closer - :-) . Again I have both and like both, the Phantom is lighter but if I were gonna buy another I’d buy a royal legend elite. Thanks for the great review as always.

After your initial review and various follow up challenges of it, I'm feeling real good about my Phantom purchase 3 months ago. It does a great job for my needs which are mainly bank fishing 3-4X/wk for lmb. My Royale Legend (not Elite) is a good reel, but the Phantom is superb IMO. Thanks for the service you provide. Many of us can't afford status reels if we wanna have a few combos to work with. We just want reliable affordable equipment.
Thanks BayouCity Bassin' The Phantom is definitely a bargain for what you get and if you didnt already, check out BCSG Fishing's channel, he did a long term review on the Phantom and he stuck alot of big fish on it and said it handled them no problem. Unfortunately I dont get to fish nearly as much as him. The new Royal Legend Elite is a great reel too, feels a tad bit smoother overall than the Phantom but doesnt cast as well as you can see.
I have a phantom and the Alijos on the way, I’m stoked to give these a try before the winter hits us here in Cali. Great video.
The reason I said it is I have a Phantom, and it's the quietest reel I've ever experienced. It's a ghost compared to my old Ambassadeurs, and quieter than my Casitas.

That is impressive given their price... I wonder how their performance will hold up over time. Maybe the allegedly(?) higher quality of materials, bearings etc. from the main brands will pay out over time?
Good reel review answered my questions about, having to spend all of the money on those expensive reels. A friend of mine said one time that companies put out products to catch fishermen instead of putting out products to catch fish. What he said I'm am seeing become more and more true in my opinion. The fish have not changed, they are the same fish but the equipment continues to grow more and more expensive. I'm so glad for companies like these that shine a light on these truths again in my opinion.

Very good review. I have the Phantom but haven't fished with it yet. I can tell it will cast a long distance and it's very smooth and quiet.

I use that blue KastKing with a Duckett 6'10 Silverado for my fluke set up. It handles light gear pretty well.
There is a hell of a lot more to a reel than just how far it casts new!!! How smooth is it and how does it cast after 2 years of use???? That is when you weed out quality a reel from trash.

I would be interested in knowing the durability, which is the Best test of a reel...
Some bass fisherman say that distance is not important, and drag doesn’t matter because they lock them up anyway. I think I speak for many Shoreline fisherman that distance and drag is very important, I fish mainly for striped bass and I need to get out as far as I can, cast as many times as I can and because I fish in brackish water I may hook something that May take you for a ride, so you don’t want your drag locked up, you want a smooth nice drag to fight something That a bait caster was not meant to fight. I’m going to order this reel right now, because it’s what I need something light weight because sometimes it feels like I’m casting a thousand cast Lol,

If you just go casting distance you should try out the kastking stealth. That thing is even less expensive and has a really light spool.

I have the Kastking Assasin and the Spartacus, both are awesome reels, everything else Kastking is just a bird nests madness. I also own a Piscifun Torrent, that’s a reel made in heaven! Piscifun all the way for me! Great Video as always!
I have four Piscifun Torrent reels and love them. The most quiet reel I've ever used and you can't backlash them.

The phantom’s jackass centrifugal brake is an immediate no go for me! I’ve had a Kastking Assassin for a couple years now and absolutely love it. I’m looking for a faster gear ratio reel currently.

I have the Phantom and the Torrent from Piscifun. You need to compare these two. For me the Torrent out performs the Phantom and is half the price. For two reels made by child laborers in China I am impressed with both. They both even compare and perform just as good as my $150 Abu Revo.
Kastking rod reel combo’s at academy now and they felt cheaper than I was thinking and that made me not buy one from Amazon. I have a runcl reel from Amazon and it felt better than the last king. I’m very interested in the piscifun tho.

I was very surprised with that Phantom! I own both the Elite and Curado K, I had not seriously considered a Piscifun product, but at this point I must admit, I have to reconsider. I must admit, I was rooting for the Elite. None of them, the Elite and the Phantom, are as smooth as my Curado K though. Looking forward to round 2.
Yeah its hard to beat Shimano's micro gears. But at $70 its hard to ignore that casting on the Phantom.

I got both of those reels from Amazon to compare against my Daiwa Tatula and my Shimano Curado. None of those reels can touch my Tatula or Curado. But I will say they are good reels for the price. And my comparson came from fishing them on the water and catching bass in Texas.

I know this is an old vid , But, you should have got your hands on a Kastking Assassin .. The whole reel is only 5.9oz Carbon fiber everything. 12+1 SS ball bearings .. It was an absolutely amazing @ $60.00, I have 4 of them and there flawless reels..

I have no Piscifun Phantom but i own Seaknight POTM (Thay can charing most parts togather but POTM's spool is 12g and only have Mag brake) .
It's really good reel for poorman bfs!! ( as good as tsurinoya xf50 can do )
I mean if Phantom user buy shallow spool, Maybe U can use Phantom as BFS too !!!
I own the Red Elite, which has a higher gear/retrieve ratio. And, I believe its $10 more? and I think it has a much better spool in it compared to the lower level blue reel you have. Just saying, maybe that would be a better comparison or the new mega jaws.

I have 3 kastkings and two of them are junk after 2 years and the speed D is starting to break down so you can have the kastkings I got the phantom about 2 years ago and it's still working good but I think my 13 are way better and my lews and shimano are still kicking ass year after year

I did and the Phantom was too light for the Torrent rod I had. It was really tip heavy but if you dont mind that then they work great together

Does the phantom cast and reel as smooth as the elite and do the grips feel good. I was eyeing the royal legend but if the piscifun can cast, reel, and feel better, I just might change my mind
the Royal Legend is a little smoother casting and retrieving and has better knobs in my opinion. The Phantom has loud brakes and you can feel them during the cast because of the carbon body
It does not. The handles on the elite feel better. The ones on the phantom are foam and feel cheap.

Very good comparison but, that casting comparisons should be apples to apples.... kastking stealth is what should be compared up against that pisifun reel in my opinion. There a lot more similar in size and the spools are almost identical both being highly wiffled out for weight and speed I have the Royal legend elite and the stealth from kastking in a casting dual, the stealth will win every time no doubt! and it's only like 57 bucks
Why is cast distance the only litmus test for reel quality?
fuloran1 because people think it’s the reel that gives casting distance, I see reviews for these reels on amazon, the bad reviews are obviously from people who don’t know how to cast a baitcasting reel and just assumed they could pick one up and cast it perfectly with no practice or experience...also, people think they NEED to cast across the lake or river in order to catch a fish, when in reality, a lot of fish haunt the shallows witching 20-40 yards off the bank...

I really like my kastking bait casters I will say that of them all the Mega jaws is definitely the cheapest feeling one of the bunch
Many of the reels with large spool diameter are good casters, I'm not sure what diameter antares has but from top of my head the 4000 series abu is 39mm and I think they are both great as long as sheer distance goes. I know those reels are enhanced many other ways than spool diameter only. Ergonimically they migjt not be the best options if you are just casting no coffee breaks

That Phantom is identical to my KastKing Assassin Carbon. Only difference is color scheme.
I have both and they are very similiar but have alot of differences. The brakes on the Phantom are alot better and it feels better made
I love buying these “cheap” reels. I own several Diawa Lexus for fishing yellowtail, but when fishing for calico bass and surf fishing I don’t want to put the miles on my good reels I like them to be in tip top shape when the game fish come around. I experimented with both companies, hands down Piscifun wins when it comes to bait casters. I use the Persus religiously for fishing plastic on my kayak and thing is a tank, the spool bearing did rust out. I contacted Piscifun and they sent me a new bearing free of charge and asked for my opinions on the reel. As a result I now own the Piscifun sword (fly fishing), 2 phantoms, thunder, chaos and 2 persus. Great reels for the money and awesome company in my opinion. And if I drop it in the ocean I’m not kicking my head because the price lol

If you watch my casting test videos for the Phantom you can see I comment on how loud the brakes are. Not unbearable, but you can hear and feel them because the reel is so light

154 ft and it beats the fuego ct casting a 1/2 oz. red eye shad? I'm getting 175-180 ft on my fuego ct 15lbs big game paired with a 7ft 1in medium heavy rod. I'm pretty sure I could get a few more few with 12 lbs test.

I got my Phantom delivered this morning and I noticed the line guide seems a little loose. It makes a slight clicking sound as I reel it. Definitely coming from the line guide worm drive area. I can wiggle the line guide back and forth really easy. Did any of you have that same experience? Did you tighten that big flat head nut down on the line guide to fix this?
Many have the Lew's LFS down to $70 right now too, even Tackle Warehouse.
I played with the new Lews LFS reels at Bass Pro.. very smooth and small! A bunch of you guys need to bug Lews and tell them to send me some reels to test!

KastKing's main reel is the Bassinator, and if you hold these 2 reels the KastKing feels superior in every way. I have elites and had the Phantom, the KastKing reel is a much better option imo. And this isn't a reel review imo, it's a casting review. My SLX DC will cast a mile, but that doesn't mean it's better than a Metanium.
What do you do with all these reels you test?

How far a reel casts is about the least important metric there is on a reel in my opinion. I want a reel that is (1) smooth to reel, (2) consistent, smooth drag when fighting a fish, (3) easy to clean/maintain, (4) easy to adjust, (5) stays adjusted until different weight lure is used, (6) resistant to salt water (7) relatively water tight to resist flooding if reel is dunked for a few seconds, and (8) relatively light weight. I'll take a reel that is better than another in these metrics and lose 10 feet of casting distance any day!
The piscifun phantom might be the best reel for that pricepoint in the whole world. Who knows?

You can't buy them from big box stores because they order them In bulk for anywhere around $10-$50 per reel then slap a name on them and get you tubers to do advertising for them

I just heard you say it beats out all of the Diawa Tatula's including the SV's. Well, I know you lying now. like I said I've tested those reels on the water-catching fish and I would like to see your test with all of the Daiwa Tatula's and Shimano's.

In my opinion the legend Royale elite is better
I have 3 of the Piscifun reels 2 of the phantoms and 1 of the Perseus, and I love them! I have 2 diawa's and two bass pro platinum series reels.. and I needed a part for one of my phantom reels only because I use the shit out of them. and because I bought from them directly they talked to me personally I sent them pics of what I needed over TEXT believe it or not an the parts were at my door FREE OF CHARGE 4 DAYS LATER from there u.s based warehouse. To my amazement because the part didn't fix my problem I got a brand new reel FREE OF CHARGE A WEEK LATER.. FREAKIN GREAT COMPANY.. TELL ME ANOTHER THAT WILL DO THE SAME!?! I have screenshots of the messages to prove it I know they're U.S based tech by name and have the box still and extra reel cover that came with the new reel.. i use my phantom to crank an i use big plugs like 6 and 8xd's so I USE THE HELL OUT OF IT and it's by far my favorite reel. I can throw a big crank bait or throw a lite weight JerkBait with just a small turn on the breaks, I leave the inside breaks at 2 an never touch them... I fish with a friend that uses Kastking he says the same thing about THOSE reels.. but question.. aren't they both manufactured under the same roof.? They have the same parts basically
Thats just what i needed to hear. I was curious of the cranking power of the phantom. I know it has a big handle on it and that helps a ton. I need a fast gear ratio that can handle these baits that create alot of drag.
@@boxxjumper82 I promise you as some one who has nothing to gain from telling you my opinion or experiences I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS REEL for absolutely any purpose.. I have 65lb braid on the other an it's my top water reel. Super versital and strong and dependable reels
BamaBassFinder04 4 I do believe both companies probably use the same factory for their reels but the new Royal Legend Elite is a step up from the previous Kastkings like the Assassin.
Are the phantoms that good that you would fish it 2 centrifugal brakes on and o on the magnetic brakes not realistic .all your other tests had there brakes set about how you would normally fish them.I guess the phantom is the greatest real ever .I fish all bb1 pros and if you set the brakes st 1 or 2 and really babied the spool it would be way out there to ,but that's not how you would fish it.
It depends on the lure. I can fish top waters and lipless cranks with 2 on.
Keeps adjusting the reels on the stands. Leve them alone. Get on my nerves

I dont mind where in the world they manufacture these reels. In my opinion, owning both Shimanos, Daiwas and Revos and the technique i use, i cast longest with my Mgxtreme 2. You should try it.
Alltough i love all my reels regardless to brand. They are all Fantastic!
