I've had that gun before and at lower levels it is good but after that not so much. I think the reason there is only one of those bases is because it's where the buried temple is, so they wanted it to be special. If you clear it early and come back for that quest it won't have the same vibe to it. All of the ecliptic that would have been just ground into the pavement and nothing left of them but their boost packs and blood smears will not be there and it loses that erie feeling.
I checked in with him in the Red Devil's HQ last night and he still has this and the other two rare weapons well after I've completed the quest (NG+ level 140).
Extreme kind of changed the game, imo. I play extreme as well. Enemy and Player damage. My main has been the Magpulse ever since the update. The Magshear and Magstorm just don't do enough damage quick enough anymore for my taste. But the Magpulse does. I go for the legs. Even against a group of 3 or 4. It knocks them all down. Then they're dead in short order. The Magpulse is even very good at range. Out to 60 or even 80 meters it gets the job done. And quickly.
I think it's the only weapon that guy has that is really worth getting from him. I think you can only get it from him also. Well it's the only place I have found it anyway. The only problem with it is it eats ammo like candy! But it does the job!!

I's just a modified advanced Kodana. I tried it, but it just doesn't have enough fire power. One aimed shot with a Hard Target is an instant kill, why you have to empty half your magazine to achieve the same effect.
The weapons have more power and damage when on semi-auto. The A-99 is much better and more powerful than that thing you're using in its current setup. Then add in your skills, magazines you've collected, and your rank... I'm 1 hitting badguys and dropping them... at most 3 shots.
So after the last update. How do loot drops and bosses/elites spawns work? Now that the difficulty has been separated into several different settings instead. You used to be able to "up" the difficulty with a single setting option to "very hard" load into a zone (planet/destination) and then turn the settings back to "normal" and the zone would have more/multiple high level elite/boss enemies, and better loot from those. Can you not do that anymore? load into a zone on hard and switch back to normal as a way to get better enemy encounters and loot? has this been completely changed? Also I am seriously disliking that you can't claim a new ship and go back into yours again by redocking or going back to where you landed, your ship vanishes now if you make the new ship your home (to claim it) after boarding and taking it over. Now you have to fly your new ship to a ship tech every time, to switch back to your main ship, and if you are in a way-out-of-the-way planet and the ship you took over doesn't have enough fuel or grav jump capabilities, you can be stuck on 1 single planet or cluster, with the next jump point being too far away, leaving you stranded.
This weapon has become my interior go to weapon, I was slow to accept this weapon because of its relative low attack leaves. However having played with it for a while it’s fantastic for guerrilla style battles. And to think I nearly sold it lol. FYI I play at maximum difficulty level and it holds it own against lvl 90+ if you at lucky enough to get this weapon play with it for a while 👍🏻
I find really good armor, and max my lone wolf skill, asap, so the med mod falls just below space adept as mods to avoid. So I respectfully disagree on this one. I'm level 60 and I think I have like 80 med packs in inventory.

Had that on my first play through. Eventually I got a different Kodama with a bashing perk in case people get a little close. Never had an issue with med packs so it wasn’t as useful.
On Nexus Mods #9251 - fixes the Sneak bonus so you can use the food buffs as the game (not BGS??) intended :) - Makes a huge difference, you can notice the reduced sneak dmg when you are taking out Brogan on Kreet
@@willia451 It does not (actually makes the 34.0x go upwards of 58.0x), nor does putting points into Concealment. Either use a MOD or disable food affects :(
The Advanced Officer's Elemental Kodama is my fav weapon in the game. Underrated, very underrated. It's a FUN weapon for me. It procs bleed, fire, poison, corrosive .
Love the Kodama, especially that variant. Had it on my last play through, but I don't guess I bought it this time. Maybe I haven't revisited the TMD HQ since. Personally I run a Legendary MagShear with a subzero perk that makes popcicles out of enemies for a few seconds. Perfect for ship boarding when vastly outnumbered by Varuun.
I never bothered with Vampire's Grift. Med theft is bottom tier just above Space Adept. I did buy Reckless Bombardment though, and promptly killed myself with it. Lol.
Had one Legendary with instigating and change to explosive in one playthrough...and it just melted anything in your way..by far the best weapon I ever had in this game...I believe it´s DPS was about 16-17 k and it was brutal..

The only gun that deserves to be called the best gun in the game . Is a gun you can either buy from Kore kinetics in Neon . Or as a gift from Delgado in the Crimson fleet missions . It's called the Meg shot , over 200 damage and can be modded to be a 6 shots auto fire .
I got a Shattering/Furious/Incendiary Advanced Kodama in this playthrough. It’s a beast of a little gun and it has been a lot of fun. I usually grab Advanced Orion at the beginning of each playthrough and mod it out for maximum damage. It’s a powerful and versatile weapon, and with full upgrades it carries me through to the very end of each playthrough (even vs. Hunter and Emissary combined.) I love the Orion platform, especially when you can combine it with an Advanced Hard Target or Magshear.
WHY??? Why can't Bethesda use their random terrain generation with the 'Templates'??? I know by definition, however I would gladly call them something else if they were ALL Fresh and New😅

There’s two or three different vampire guns. Friend of mine picked one up in a random loot drop. It was just called “The Vampire”

I’ve had that gun before.. Kodama is good clearing indoors but I rarely use it.. prefer carrying a hard with an AA and a pistol 🔫
I do like collecting as many of the named weapons on each run as I can, but never really use them.... I still prefer none legendary/perked weapons

I heard if you spec points into Stealth it also fixes the sneak bonus bug. Haven't tested it myself, however.

Everyone saying Hard target is the best sniper, but they hit up around 390, but I found a Magsniper that hits up over 500..? 🤷♂️
You need to charge the magsniper tough, a lot less accurate, it shakes and has a disgusting scope. That’s why a lot of people prefer hard target

I was fortunate to get a legendary Kodama with shattering, crippling and extended mag. It absolutely shreds opponents of all types.
I got the same weapon, but I just have 20 damage 🤔 and is totally maxed out... you know why?

I've checked online too, every source says Vampire's Gift bought from Gualter Azevedo on red-eye hq on Mars is 18 damage (without mods)
